I cannot tell you how stoked I am for these videos coming to life. The absolute best resource for getting players elevated in the best game ever! As always love and appreciate all that you do and create for us to take in! 🤘🏼
Thank you so much for this series. Used to play MTG as a kid twenty years ago, recently bought System Gateway and the last two expansions with a couple friends. This helps so much getting into the first builds. Can you recommend any discords or similar channels for exchange with other players?
The Green Level Clearance Discord server is 'the' online Netrunner community space, particularly for newer players - discord.com/invite/glc - I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for other video channels, check out Neon Static (they do paper play, which is great), YsengrinSC and Baa Ram Wu (for regular jinteki.net livestreaming), and Null Signal Games' and aksu_netrunner's UA-cam Channels (for tournament coverage). Welcome to the game, eh!
1:07:50 I would say handsize on runner is somewhat significant, both because you often have cards other than sure gamble (can just play it whenever) which you want to hold untill the right moment, or untill you have enough money, could also be important for surviving damage vs kill decks
thanks for making these 101 vids! super helpful for people trying to get (back) into the game. Will you be delving into the Startup format in future videos after this "System Gateway" series?
I am currently working on an upcoming Startup replay review, but I don't have a lot of Startup content planned for the near future. We're in a bit of an awkward spot - with the imminent release of Dawn, Startup is just a couple of months away from a massive card pool shift. It's something I'll likely revisit once the card pool has stabilized. I'm glad you've been digging the series!
I need to make a check list/ spreadsheet to check the totals for all this stuff, how much card draw, static vs dynamic economy, trick cards, ice breakers/ice. May need a version for runner and another for corp.
Hi, my man! I would love a video talking the differences between System Gateway new mechanics and the old school Android Netrunner for old players, and how does it FEEL to play the new system. Cheers!
Yeah i didn't realise that so i may need to tweak some of my first attempts at decklists now i have this information. I know its only 1 in play and not in the deck as a whole but having too many copies of a card you cannot play can feel bad
Is this deck fairly balanced towards the HB deck you built? Can I use these to replace the pre-built decks in System Gateway, which (in our experience) significantly leans towards the runner.
That's a great question. I would have to play the match up many more times to come to a conclusive answer. My guess is that the Precision Design Corporation deck will be slightly favoured until the Runner becomes more experienced and aggressive, and then the tables will shift. I'd be excited to hear what your expeirence is with the matchup.
That's correct! The bold text on Leech '*Hosted virus counter:*' is the cost to use the ability. To reduce the strength of ice you are encountering, you need to spend one hosted virus counter. The cost to use Conduit's ability is simply the *click* you spend to make the run.
While I don't believe Null Signal Games has put out a card that loads directly from a player's own credit pool, some older FFG cards did. Those cards would be explicit, clearly stating that the credits would come from the player's credit pool (For example, "move up to 3[credit] from your credit pool to this card".) As a general rule, the terms *load* and *place* always take credits/counters from the bank, unless otherwise specified.
"Link is uninteresting" Really though? I love link battles. It's a fun way to try to tax the runner. Sometimes NSG comes off as extremely smug and pretentious. Not directing shade at you, of course. Amazing resource for new players (I've been a "new player" for like 2 years)

Thanks for doing videos like these! They are such a great resource for people coming into the game!
I love how you usually build decks on your streams. It has streamlined my deckbuilding!
I've heard a lot of talk about Netrunner online, but never really got into it. This video is what finally got me interested in playing. Thank you!
That's awesome - update when you've played your first games!
This type of video is interesting for so many reasons! Thanks you so much for making this series, I watched and rewatched it at least 8 times.
this is a fantastic serie. I m so into it. I became patreon to support/thank you.
That's very kind! Thanks so much for the support.
you need to do a how to play! You articulate so well and it will really serve new comers greatly!
This is literally the perfect resource for beginners. Thank you so much!
Great content! Keep it up!
Loving the series

Excellent! I'm decent at corpo decks but terrible with runner
Thanks! This is super helpful!
Question: how can you tell if a card (like docklands pass) is unique or not? I seem to be missing the thing that represents thay
The little diamond before the name
Great question! Uniqueness is signified by a small black diamond on the left of the card's title.
@@MetropoleGrid Thanks!

The diamond before the name. Furthermore all Consoles have a diamond because you can only have one.

So a hosted virus like leech reduced the number of virus if I use it? But conduit keeps its virus counters because it is not hosted?

@MetropoleGrid thanks for the quick response
Pennyshaper: place one credit on this card. How do I know that is comes from the bank not from the runners money?
