Amazing content. I really enjoy watching these. I'd love to watch even more beginner-friendly content. Netrunner-Basics, Ratios of Economy, Ice, etc. in deckbuilding, Gameplay tips. I think I'm not the only person who got (back) into netrunner because of the recent releases and your content. Thanks a lot for making this community grow! :) Much Love, Alex
Cheers Alex! As of today, I have finally wrapped the entire System Gateway review series, so I'll be starting to make some of that sweet, sweet beginner-friendly content. Glad you've been digging the reviews! Thanks for the kind words.
As someone who‘s just starting to get into the game, and as someone who‘s pretty overwhelmed by it due to no prior complex card game experience, this series is really helpful to understand the game better! Thanks for the great introductions!
I have a house errata on all the old cards that increases the tag requirement of Corp cards by 1. It's balanced out the rough tag punishments and made for fairer play.
For Orbital Superiority, The Archivist cares about the security subtype Also when you were talking about Orbital and went over Armed Intimidation my brain did a think good, maybe. With Neurospike out there, Armed Initimidation now provides an immense fork. Score it, then they either take 2 tags and you BOOM! them, or they take five damage and you Neurospike them. Seems pretty good.
I often goof up The Archivist, thinking it calls out the 'Research' subtype instead. Good catch. I heard of people testing out Jemison decks with Neurospike - you have access to the Armed Intimidation play, as well as supporting the more standard City Works Project. I reckon it's a lot of fun.
Loving the videos - they brought me back HARD into both Android: Netrunner and Nisei Netrunner! I will cheerfully debate your premise that "Tag = Death" in A: Netrunner though - mostly because FFG's version of the game had tons of cards that provided damage mitigation such as Plascrete Carapace, Murashi Bodysuit, Net Shield and so on. (I'm still bummed that the OG 1996 version's "Armored Fridge" never made a direct transition to future versions of the game - especially since the quote on that card was so fun and immersive!)
Welcome to the game! I would recommend picking up NISEI's System Gateway, which adds a lot of strong options for each faction, including a lot of strong neutral staple cards. After that, NISEI just released System Update 2021, which as the backbone of the Standard card-pool, is a lot like a 'best-of Netrunner' collection. Once again, it adds a lot of really strong options for every single faction.
NBN is my least played Corp so I'm looking forward to learning something about them. I've always thought they were the faction you play to win tournaments and that just didn't seem appealing to me, haha.
@@MetropoleGrid I'm experienced in the world on Pop-Up, at least. Back in early 2015, when Jinteki had no real econ options, I would use 3x in an attempt to get at least *some* income. With that, Jackson, and some other ice, I've only ever borrowed yellow cards.
A thought on your point about cards like Spin Doctor and Rashida being good for playing better Netrunner - I agree, but I think this means that the other economy/acceleration cards should also be better. That way, it seems like you get the same benefit of better netrunner without the drawback of these 1 or 2 specific cards showing up all the time. In other words, I think there *is* a problem, but it's not with these cards, it's with the rest of the card pool. That's my guess at least, would be curious to hear counterarguments.
I know what you mean - they make everything else look silly in comparison. The problem is, if you add more cards of the same power level with similar acceleration/utility, the power level of every deck in the format is pushed over the top, right? Everyone would run Rashida, Spin Doctor, as well as the three other invented cards. It's worth noting that System Gateway contains only 2 cards with 4 influence, and none with 5. Perhaps that was intended to ensure that this starter set is really easy to deckbuild with? I'd be excited to see similarly powerful cards at high influence numbers to perhaps combat this eventual pile of 'all of the best stuff', and help give strong reasons to choose one faction over another.
On predictive planogram, I'm seeing it like our online storefronts we have currently. General analytics will allow the store to modify itself for better sales. But if the store knows who you are, they can suggest products and get the sale because they know what you want.
It seems that there really isn't an System Gateway NBN strategy that doesn't rely on tags. Do you think that the approach is more viable once System Update 2021 is included? You get Psychographics for fast scoring against Tag-Me players, and Snare! to make Orbital Superiority more of a threat.
100%. Adding a single 'game winning' tag punishment card is such a huge deal for Reality Plus. Otherwise within Gateway, using Reality Plus' ability to fuel Anoetic Voids and score out Orbital Superiority's is not the worst plan.
i've flatlined a lot of runners with orbital + neurospike in a Startup NBN deck - running 3 planograms and reality plus gives you tons of toys to play with, and runners are going to be click starved if they keep dealing with tags or attempt to keep their hand at 5 at all times. That's just anecdotal play from a group of noobs though.
Hey Nick! I constantly find myself forgetting about Orbital Superiority when I'm playing Gateway or Startup, and getting punished quite hard. It's a card that currently sees no play in the Standard format, so it's super easy to forget how deadly the skies really can be. I've never tried it with Neurospike, as Azef Protocol or 5/3s always look a bit more reliable.
Totally! You can order NISEI's cards professionally printed from either DriveThruCards, or Make Playing Cards. NISEI also offers pay-what-you-want print and play options. Check out nisei.net/products/ for all the options.
These videos got me back into Netrunner, just ordered System Gateway thanks to you!

Having watched all these videos, I am looking forward to seeing booster pack analysis and then systems update 2021!
Knew where Spin Doctor was going to be based on the timestamp lengths :D
Awesome content, even after three years. Thanks a bunch
Your overviews are indispensable. Thank you for making these!

Great video! I am enjoying the review you make it easy for a person to get back into netrunner after not seeing it for years!
Just picked up the starter pack, can't wait to play. The quality of the cards is excellent.
In eight and a half minutes Andrej only said Trial instead of Trail four times! That's pretty good, gotta be some kind of record. :p

That's neat. I'd be interested to see how that changes the play patterns.

Best corp faction by far. Thanks for these, Andrej!

I'm happy the System Update has Psychographics! Makes tagging so much better for those playing in System Gateway system.
I'm new to netrunner I just got the revised core. My question is what do I add to enhance game play

Give them a shot - you might just like it! It's hard not to love a little Pop-up Window.

The "Nothing Bad-guys, NBN"

Once we have enough information, the invisible hand becomes more like an *invisible fist* .

I detected the subtlest of mass comms saltiness lol
I have no idea what you're talking about :p
Is this even something you can buy?
