I heard the number of plants, birds, animals was over 1 million destroyed. What a terrible shame! Also, a much bigger shame was when I heard that some careless people set those fires, with the exception of one that was a dry storm with lightening. These people should not get life imprisonment, They should be tied to a tree and set ablaze themselves. Let them feel what those creatures felt and their human companions that lived in their homes and vehicles and jobs gone up in smoke!

@Uvuvwevwevwe Osas From what I'm seeing they're a real problem apparently. They're an introduced species and therefore feral. They've reduced their numbers to 300,000. Cats are also feral in Australia. It's a sad truth but culling has to be done to preserve native species.

I had to stop watching the videos about what was happening in Australia as it was such a difficult situation and there was nothing I could do. It's amazing how quickly some of the koalas warmed up to and trusted the people that were helping them, I expected it to be more difficult with wild animals. Instead, you get what looks like genuine gratitude from the ones that are saved.

Kudos to the folks who have cared for the Koalas and for the wildlife in general. It has been a terrible fire season in Australia, and those folks did a lot to help the most vulnerable of the forest creatures.
How heartwarming they have people who care so much and have the ability to nurse them back to health and eventually return them to a viable habitat when they are able.
Dylan Le All the surviving animals are loved and supported. They have been looked after by specialist carers. Many Queensland fruit bats for eg were taken to Australia Zoo. Lots of animals went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Wildlife sanctuaries took in wombats, birds, kangaroos etc depending on their area of expertise 😊
When I held a koala it was as lovely as you think it is. They are so soft and lean into the hug. For my fellow gen xers they are as close as real life Care Bears on this planet that you will find. Thank you to hero carers and everyone around the world who cared about them.
The problem for the rescued koalas is that their supply of “ gum” trees have been destroyed. What do they eat until the new trees grow back and have leaves?

But you can. I felt so helpless like you but I donated money and "adopted" a koala. You can research honorable koala charities to help.

What a Genuine, loving and Caring people are in Australia 🇦🇺. I have learned a lot about Australia and Australians during their Massive Bushfires and I Salute them for their hard work.

Kudos to the folks who have cared for the Koalas and for the wildlife in general. It has been a terrible fire season in Australia, and those folks did a lot to help the most vulnerable of the forest creatures.
How heartwarming they have people who care so much and have the ability to nurse them back to health and eventually return them to a viable habitat when they are able.
I feel bad for all the other animals that don't get as much love and support as these koala's
Dylan Le All the surviving animals are loved and supported. They have been looked after by specialist carers. Many Queensland fruit bats for eg were taken to Australia Zoo. Lots of animals went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Wildlife sanctuaries took in wombats, birds, kangaroos etc depending on their area of expertise 😊

When I held a koala it was as lovely as you think it is. They are so soft and lean into the hug. For my fellow gen xers they are as close as real life Care Bears on this planet that you will find. Thank you to hero carers and everyone around the world who cared about them.
The problem for the rescued koalas is that their supply of “ gum” trees have been destroyed. What do they eat until the new trees grow back and have leaves?

The trees aren't dead, so the leaves grow back fast....but competition with Drop Bears will be a problem.
The Drop bears are carnivorous so they'll be fine
