- Ecologists in Australia now believe more than a billion animals have died in the country’s unprecedented bushfires. More than 25 million acres have burned since September. Researchers say koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and other animals have perished either directly or indirectly as a result of the fires. Jamie Yuccas reports on how an animal rescue group is trying to save them.

Dangerous BLR god is wonderful and gave humans and animals this wonderul planet to share and coexist in. All animals do that, but it is only humans who are greedy and want everything. It is humans who caused these fires and devastation due to global warming, not god.

Bushfires in Australia are like snakes, we have by far the most deadly ones, but we know what to do, so it's very rare anyone gets hurt or dies. Your ex should be fine :) Nice you still care about him though :)

Today, a friend forwarded me an article about the fire. It contains some pictures of bodies of animals’s burned to death in the fire - it’s the first time I saw such pictures of these animals, although I have heard about the number of animals died in the fire. It immediately brought my tears and broken my heart! It’s so painful to see the pictures of those poor animals’s bodies!!!

It's with my sad heart that hurts deeply for your wildlife animals all all kinds. So horribly to hear about the ones that perished and the babies who list their mommy's. So sorry from Homosassa fl. I would love to come to Australia and volunteer my time in taking care of as many babies as I could. Gold Bless you Australia and I send huge prayers and I pray daily for rains to come your way to give you some relief.
It's NOT sad to see the burnt animals (yes it's bad they're hurt). It's breathtaking & exciting to see those animals in the hands of rescuers & caretakers getting the nutrients & love they need :)

It is estimated that up to a billion animals killed, injured or affected by fires. The fires are still burning. Once the animals have recovered there will be not enough land regeneration for many years to come. Australia is a very dry place with little rainfall. We need small amounts of rainfall and then follow up rains every few weeks. High temperatures will continue. But I want to thank all the help and love from everyone Internationally that Australia has had. It was said at a wildlife sanctuary that koalas are put down if their paws don’t recover because they will not survive as they have to grip trees. There has been suffering also for people with respiratory problems. So much smoke, it has even drifted to New Zealand.
I hope all the support reaches the right organisations and not scammers.

What UTTER NONSENSE, in 1974 15% of Australia burned due to bushfires! Compared to a little over 1%! with these fire(most started deliberately) Can you numb sculls get your heads around that! So statements like this will cause the extinction of many animals it bloody NONSENSE, and IDIOTS saying this is the new norm due to man made climate change( the climate has and is changing ALL THE TIME!) A Bush fire needs fuel and it takes many years for a large amount of fuel to build up (if not controlled by smaller fires which is exactly what has happened here! ) look back through Australian history and you find the answer their weather runs in patterns of drought and flood and that's a FACT. Seeing that coala sitting in the middle of fire, knowing it’s paws were burning but it didn’t know where to go, is wrenching.
I have sent money from the US but would REALLY like to be able to do something more tangible for these poor animals. Just don’t know what/how.
My aunt does this in Sydney Australia and she turned her whole back yard into a kangaroo sanctuary. Even before the fire she still nurtures baby kangaroos till their healthy. Comment if you want the full story btw 2 of my aunts are famous.
As an Australian and a lover of our wildlife, I’ve been sharing a story on a number of these types of videos. I shall share it here as well. It was on the news some years ago where a family on a farm rescued a little Joey, (Baby kangaroo) after its mother had been killed by a car. The family brought it up as a pet. One day the now fully grown kangaroo scratched at the front door. The people realised that the kangaroo wanted them to follow it. So they did. The kangaroo lead them a long way down to an unused paddock, where the man of the house was trapped under a tractor. True story.

If about 1 km tp 2 km tree near to fire could cut and trees are taken far from fire areas then the fire can be controlled. Please spread this news to Australia if you can. Coust allso reduced to half.

Exactly! They should includes links to some of thrustworthy organizations. I donated to wires. Not that I had time to research but as they are mentioned as the largest one I suppose it's legit.

@@frida507 WIRES is fine but the issue is they are for New South Wales and not Australia wide. Like when I see them mentioned I feel ok for the animals there but a bit sad for the animals in other states, and hope that they still get help.
@@farronfox I read on WIRES page that they cover other parts of the country too, probably because they're getting a lot of donations. But if you know any nation wide organizations that focus on saving animals it would be great! I care about people too but I guess they get more help by the authorities, Red Cross and most of the catastrophy relief organizatio and also have more means to help themselves than helpless animals. (I donated some to the rural fire fighters, or what they are called, though )

They waste wildlife money they get torturing kangaroos with inhumane catching, anaesthetising & implanting contraception instead of just culling appropriate numbers in low stress ways & spending the $1000 per animal they did on the contraception on animals that actually need help

Just think, before the Europeans came there were no fire trucks or water pumps to put such fires out- in times of drought the fires may have burnt for years.
And while you're thinking of something hateful to respond, do remember that many Australian trees have seed pods that can only be opened by fire.
Alexander Powell the aboriginals used to do cultural burning regularly of the land to prevent such big bush fires from occurring.
