Key elements to completing 100 miles: (1) Don't plan on running the entire race. It's a jog/hike. (2) It's 100% okay to take a nap. I took two short naps in mine, 7 minutes and 10 minutes. (3) If you feel sick to your stomach, candied ginger is A. MAZE. ING. (4) If your feet really hurt, sit down for 10-15 minutes. (5) Use vaseline or body glide on your feet under your socks. (6) have a second pair of shoes with your crew or drop bag. Changing shoes at mile 60-75 is FANTASTIC. (7) Your mind is stronger than your body. You're not done when you think you're cooked. (8) NO QUITTING unless you're injured. If you want to quit, sit down for 30 minutes and cry. Eat. You'll be okay. Get up and keep moving.

I don't usually comment, but I am honestly so moved that you're doing this for endo research. I was diagnosed after a ridiculously long and painful waiting process. I lost all my fitness and was basically bed-ridden for a year. It was so hard to watch a huge part of my life get taken away because of this disease. I'm a year post-surgery and feel so much better, and your videos have always been a source of motivation for me. The sooner people can get help with this condition, the sooner they have their lives back. Thank you so so much !!!

I ran every day for the majority of my life until I started getting this horrible pain that caused me to stop. It has taken a couple of years but I have finally been diagnosed with endometriosis and have started the process of trying to find some treatment that works for me. Running was my favorite thing in the world, the reason I woke up every morning, and now I don't know if I will ever be able to run long distances again because of this endometriosis. This video put such a wide smile to my face! I’m also so grateful to you for choosing to donate to endometriosis research. I was diagnosed 3 years ago aged 33, and had my surgery last June. This condition has definitely hampered my fitness journey (and life in general), from painful periods to developing severe anaemia from heavy bleeding (had to give up my running training at the time due to that and the resulting fatigue & breathlessness) to surgery recovery to developing side effects from post-surgery hormone treatment… I just try to tell myself to keep going on as soon as I can again, but the setbacks can sometimes be disheartening. Your positive energy and your thoughtful and well-researched programs help a ton. I’m currently training in the gym repeating CUT.2022 to get back in shape and build some strength, then will be moving on to CUT.2023 or BUILD.Reload (not made my mind up yet). I’d like to go back to running once I’m a bit stronger again. Thank you for the inspiration and your inexhaustible positivity. I’ll be donating on payday.

THANK YOUUUUU so much Natacha for doing this for endo.
Being diagnosed for about 2 years I've tried so many diets training routines and pseudoscience approach's, to make sure it doesn't grow back quickly to manage symptoms.
Because there's so little research on it doctors really don't know what causes it leading to many people to recommend conflicting diets and approaches. Its just so overwhelming as a girl who isn't a medical professional to sort the science based tips and diets from other approaches steeped in diet culture. Thanks for helping this cause

    1. So weird seeing you in my local area, I keep recognising all the places in the back of your video! 2. thankyou for supporting endometriosis research, I just had my first laparoscopy and had stage 4 endo removed - NOTHING other than the surgery detected the extend of endo that I had. For me, I'd always had bad period cramps, but didn't have heavy bleeding, I ended up having terrible stabbing pain with digestion/gas, pain with sex and chronic back and leg nerve pain, i couldn't run or exercise because I could feel my ovaries pulling - they found my ovary stuck to the side of my pelvis, a tunnel of endo from the base of my spine to my bowel! I want to say it's not just a menstruation disease either - it has been found almost everywhere in the body, and it does fluctuate with hormones but people can experience pain all month long. Thankyou thankyou thankyou!

I run marathons and will be completing the Rome marathon in March, . I've recently incorporated hybrid training into my routine thanks to your videos and I'm loving it and seeing results. I was diagnosed in 2019 after 7 years of struggling with Endometriosis. It took me a while my to build up my fitness goals even though I was very athletic. Endometriosis has affected me in so many different ways, learning to live day by day and to expect the unexpected. When I was 21 I was put though medically induced menopause to set me up for an important surgery that could be life-changing. I'm now 24 and have run many trail and road races and feel healthier than ever but still there are days that endometriosis cripples me. I appreciate you choosing the Endometriosis Foundation to support, this is so close to me and needs so much more research to help women with a condition we know little about.

Natasha, my running journey has always been short lived. I enjoy it for a little while but I push myself too hard too quickly and my mental game wavers as a result. But since you’ve started your training for this (insane!!!!!!!) distance, I’m now three weeks into a ten week program to run 5km. I know that’s a mini distance and probably a warm up for you, but I’m trying to let go of being embarrassed of that! I think it’s less about the distance for me and more just the going for 3 runs a week combined with 2 pilates sessions and enjoying a new type of fitness I don’t usually persist with. I wanted to genuinely thank you for being one of the most generous, intelligent and holistic people on the internet. You give me courage I couldn’t have dreamt of. I am literally so in awe of you. I hope you know how incredibly strong you are in all meanings of that word. On top of all that, you’re thoughtful and considerate and nonjudgmental, that’s hard to find in one person. Thank you for all you do. ❤️❤️❤️
PS. Can you please explain the maple syrup drink to me? Can this be replaced as a sports drink for post / during runs?! I’ve never heard of this combo of electrolytes as I’m so new to the game! xx

And I was in excruciating pain every month, for several days. Year after year I was told it is a natural part of a woman's life and that I need to just take a painkiller and get on with life. When I finally got my surgery, the doctor said it's one of the worst cases he has ever seen - and "why did you not come in earlier?"...!!!!! I wish I was joking. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm so glad this is the fundraiser that was chosen. I had endometriosis for almost 10 years before I got diagnosed. I went to different doctors countless times to be told nothing was wrong but a stomach/intestinal infection or just 'normal' period cramps. I'd get thrown on antibiotics or told to take OTC pain meds and that was it. I finally found a doctor in 2020 that actually listened to me. I had the surgery later that year and I feel like a new person. After years of dealing with pain that I thought was "normal" for a woman it was such a relief to stop feeling like I was crazy and all the suffering I was going through was just in my head. Endometriosis is definitely something that needs to be researched more.

Thank you for supporting endo warriors.. I can't tell you how happy this makes me, it brings me tears of joy.
I suffer from endometriosis (diagnosed with stage 3 at 18 years old, I was on the brink of being a stage 4 patient)
I also have PCOS and horrible IBS. The health issues I have been going through the past few years is actually insane, and last year while going in for an operation for my endo (4th operation), it was found that there were solid foods in my intestine, which meant my digestive system was not working properly at all. My IBS is mostly due to my endo, and I got a spastic colon from my moms side of the family. Hormones have always been bonkers and I use to live on painkillers. I'm only now starting to feel relatively normal regarding these conditions. It's been 9 long years, 4 operations and more than a year working with a dietitian to find what works for my digestive system, hormones and weight all at once, even though it is still a struggles.
I use to be a top athlete when I was younger, and probably could have taken it far if I could continue at the same speed, even though workouts was always hard, and even back then at times schedule 5 painkillers were sometimes needed before a hockey game or so. At some point after 20 though, my health deteriorated rapidly and it became harder to live a normal life and keep fit etc.
I was lucky to have a really good specialist, even though it has taken time to feel better overall, but so many woman struggle and are misdiagnosed, told a hysterotomy will "cure" it, told it doesn't exist, and so many other things. It's actually horrifying.

hey Karuna 🤍 I know that feeling, it's like the energy isn't there and once you feel behind the difficulty to start and make a break can feel overwhelming. I totally get you. if my advice can be helpful at all (ignore if not!), maybe there's a super small, easy version of working out at the gym you could do to give you a mood boost and change the way you're feeling in your body: maybe something like a 15 minute UA-cam follow-along workout from home, or a 20 minute *super* light jog before it's time to shower anyway? something that minimally disrupts your day but might break the cycle of feeling off. I'm rooting for you: I know the dissertation stress and this will pass!!

Thank you for raising funds and running for Endometriosis Natacha 🙌🏻 definitely more research and awareness are needed so we have more treatment options for the condition. For now it seems like we’re mainly focused on managing the symptoms. So far my doctors have been recommending hormone therapy for me. Oral hormones were not suitable for me as I got bad side effects mentally. Tried the IUD twice but they kept coming out on their own after insertion because of heavy bleeding from my menstrual. So now I’m just doing it naturally by avoiding food that may flare up the pain and by having a healthier lifetyle in general. Not really treating it as it’s still there. hey beautiful (: I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with a chronic disease, it truly sucks and I hope our advances in medicine will eventually help (: and thank you for your support for EndoFound! It was the top comment by far so it's really cool that we get to do this together (: xxx

I will literally ALWAYS donate to women's health research because it's criminal how left out we are, after just having gone through menopause blind, trying to figure it all out by myself for lack of research, it's like WOW! How come we are so left out? Good on you for doing this Natacha ❤
