Ok, honestly I’ll probably ever use it but that looks so useful for journalists and authors. And students using it for lesson work. Really like the product, looks really good quality 👍
Ordered one thanks to your review! Seems perfect for my working field (scaning lots of books and documents for students as an As. Teacher) :D Once again, can't go wrong by subscribing to Patrick, alwqys bringing fresh new content with amazing gadgets and tricks :)
The time i bought my first iPad (i was in middle school when the very first one came out) going “paperless” wasn’t even a thing. By the time I started university (the first iPad Pro in the 9.7 inch and 12.9 inch came out around that time) i was completely paperless, to the point the university made an exception for me to turn in everything in digitally, even homework when i was sick so I wouldn’t miss out
ALL about going paperless. I have a Fuji Sansnap IX1500 and. Fuji Scansnap S1300. The 1500 is a document feeder. Both are great but magazines and owners manuals are difficult. Problem for the printer. I'm liking this. May be a good addition. Thanks Patrick. Good stuff.
@@PatrickRambles Can you suggest how to make the iPad Pro screen look like kindle? I am a medical student and I read lots of books and revise notes on my 11 inch iPad Pro 2021. Though I’m using ESR matte paper like protector still I miss the eye comfort of kindle. Could you please make a UA-cam video on what settings to make / accessories to buy to make iPad Pro a virtual reading machine with minimal eye strain?
Would be amazing and helpful if i knew about it at the start of the year also its a must for me to have an ipad application for it, could of scanned all my textbooks that don't come with ebook pdf's
I think the cost of this is likely to high for most people and it seems like an iPad (especially the M1 with a lidar sensor) could do much of what this can. I wouldn't be surprised if an app comes out designed to do exactly this (minus the foot pedal), you would just need a stand that could hold your iPad above the book then you could use voice command to do the scans if you needed to hold the pages.
Hi I have a quick question. What screen protector do you recommend that give a paper like writing feeling. I tried the PaperLike2 brand but was not happy. So wanted your opinion. Thanks.
Hi Nilesh, personally I like Paperlike and I don't really have another brand I particularly like. Doesn't mean there aren't any, I just don't know which ones are good :6
Was in the same boat as you. Decided to go with Bellemond. It’s more annoying to install (doesn’t have the same tab guides as paperlike) and I ended up with some bubbles. But those disappeared within 48hrs without me doing anything. Not sure how but all gone. The texture is much nice and more consistent and I’d pick this over the paperlike again in a heartbeat
That is an amazing piece of tech. 15 years ago I would have bought it without thought. These days, I wonder if it will be worth it. I do have a LOT of books though and have been thinking of tossing them out. hmm….how long will it take to scan a 500 page technical, engineering type book? Is it legal to do that?
Hey Anthony, I hear ya. There are such great apps out there that a dedicated scanner almost seems ancient. But yeah, for books it's definitely the best option. How long a 500 page book will take depends on your click-to-footbedal speed skills 😅. It's technically 250 scans. I would very generously estimate 15 minutes. Theoretically it could be done faster. Regarding the legality of it, I'm not 100% sure, but as long as you own the book and you're just making a digital copy for yourself, I can't imagine that being an issue.
Hi Bill, you can compare the quality of the color scans to that of a good office scanner. I wouldn't use it to scan and reprint photos but for archiving photos is more than capable.
@@PatrickRambles Haha. I always find it funny how Brits refer to pretty-much any organization in the plural. You're Dutch, huh? From the way you speak (aside from the plural Brit thing), you could have told me you're from Scappoose, Oregon and I would have believed you! :)
I purchased after watching this, and just scanned my first book. Very cool. One tip. I exported to Word file, opened in Pages and exported a PDF. Much clearer text!
Of course. I mean it is not easy to write without a pencil or stylus but if you only want to consume digital content or stick to typing, you can totally do that.
@@PatrickRambles I am a Apple fan boy (only at home:-) with a kindle. The kindle is quite small, illuminates blue light, and limited in function (which can be a good thing). However, note taking when you have an e-ink device on the kindle app, with audio so you can use the audible when you reading or not, plus browse the web with something thats easy on the eye and has a daylight mode at night seems appealing. I am still on the fence.
Okay, this one is really cool. Did you look into any copyright issues? Do they cover copyrights, or place any warnings about copyrights? I can definitely see this device bing very productive and lots of advantages. When you are done testing you can send me one. 🤣
Haha :). Well, I think we should always be mindful of copyright issues and when I scan a book, it will always be only for personal use. I probably should have made mention of that, good point Steve!

LOOOOL, well 🤷♂️

NEver thought I’d be interested in a document scanner this much. Thanks again Pat!
Haha, I know right? Nothing sexy about a scanner but this thing is impressive.
Super useful video Patrick! The world really should go paperless and this seems like a huge step in the right direction

What scanner app do you reccomend for samsung? Scannable isn't available on play store.
The Czur scanner is quite incredible.
Right? I'm really impressed.
Amazing new backdrop Patrick! Great videos as well!

What a great scanner Patrick and a nice video.
Thanks! ❤️
Great video Patrick! This scanner is so cool! Also the 2 camera angle setup looks really clean!

Very intriguing. I have lots of large format docs and plans that need to be scanned. Expand the scannable area and I’ll buy one.
How large are they?
Wow I think I need one of these! But their website is terrible! I can’t figure out the difference between their many many models! Thoughts?
Hey! The one I'm using is the Aura. Can definitely recommend!
The quality is absolutely amazing!

Super useful video! I feel like this video

Loving the new set Patrick!!!
Thanks Johannes!
I wish more and more companies/establishments would go paperless. My old job had TONS of paper involved.
It's so useless
@@PatrickRambles wasteful as well. you can endlessly back up electronic copies of documents, vs worrying about water/time damage.

M1 iPad Pro 12.9 inch

Great video Patrick could do with one of them I bet it’s expensive tho 💯🇮🇪
Thanks Mary! Good tech is (almost) never cheap. But if you compare them to the museum grade scanners, I do think this is good value.

Oh, the iPadOS 15 camera scanning feature is super useful for the document thing.
Definitely. Scanning on mobile devices has come a long way!

Works great but file size of pdf seems really large compared to normal scanners 🤔
Maybe because of the processing needed for optical character recognition.

So annoying that book publishers won't just sell you the ebook for a small additional cost when you buy the physical copy.
