I've been looking at the Explorer for over a year, and your review is the best in my opinion that I've seen so far. Good honest, concise review. Thanks.
Wow, this is the perfect little camper. Many times we find the toy haulers sacrifice some features of regular trailers, but this has it all. Looks very spacious and comfortable inside. But, nice and small footprint outside for storing and towing. We are going to have to do a bit more research on these trailers, very impressive! Thank you for the very detailed review.
It really is a great functional camper. Intech has a few other models but this is exactly what we need at this point. You can get some great insight if you join the Intech Owners Facebook page.
Thank you for watching. We’re actually selling ours. Great camper but we sold our sport bikes and our cruisers don’t fit in it. So we’re switching to a roof top tent for us and flat bed trailer for the bikes.
I'm looking into the InTech Travel Trailers. Usually solo camping want something to use hunting, fishing, and camping. Are these insulated well enough for year round use? Mostly use in the southeast but may do occassional trips. What do you think : explore vs discover?? Do you like the outdoor cooking vs cooking inside? Do these tent outs get alot of condensation?
thank you very much for the review, actually bought one of these myself about a month ago and like you, only got to use it this week. I think I saw your water system hook up somewhere else. Can you provide the model numbers and additional details about how you hooked it up? Love to see a more detailed video just about it and its parts and connections. Either way thanks for sharing!
I'll probably make a video about it later. For now, I used the Seaflo series 33 12v water pump along with he accumulator tank. The apache case from Harbor Freight to hold the pump and bladder. I have the power wires running into the tongue box where there is a terminal that then goes to the battery. Are you on FB? There is an Intact Owners page you can join. A few people have similar set ups, just search Water pump. Stay tuned for more videos.
Your Buddy Heater has a notch on the back to hang it. Consider hanging it on the cabinet off the ground. As it is, it's too easy for a blanket to cover it and catch on fire.
Great review! Speaking of the Buddy Heater, why use that and risk CO poisoning (I know people debate that, but there is some risk) when you have the Dometic heater?
Thanks for the review. I have the same reasons as you for looking at getting the Discover; having a place for the dogs to stay in while I'm riding. Which question for you: Is the dometic AC 120v and 12v and how is the heat output when sleeping in the tipout? Looking to use this in the winter (possibly down to 0 degrees at night) as well.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes the fridge is 120v and 12v. Switches on its own depending on if you’re on shore power or not. The heat/ac unit is loud. The heat is great, though I have installed a thermostat so it’s just on or off. However, we’ve Boondocked more than campground so adding Reflectex on the inside of the tip outs is a great idea for the winter. I also use a diesel heater for heat. Updated video coming next month.
I have the travel one that has a battery. I can use it via my jackery or bluetti but I mainly just charge it during the day and run it off it’s one battery at night.
My wife found this and we are thinking of getting it. Would one Harley tour bike fit in there? How about a tour and a dirt bike? No chance that two tours would cram in there? Thanks, S
The Harley and dirt bikes should fit. Tightly but maybe doable. Definitely not 2 touring bikes unless you can figure out a way to tie both down. Check out the Intech FB page for better examples. A couple of owners have posted a few pics.
We are looking to get one to haul our bike to further locations. I love your water set up and does the refrigerator keep things cold I've heard mixed reviews about it and can you put links for your water setup.
Ive heard mixed reviews about the Domestic fridge also but I haven't had a problem with mine. If you can, set it to the temperature you want the night before you leave so that it has time to cool. Also, try not to put any room temperature stuff in there at the start. The water pump case is the apache 3300 from harbor freight. The pump is the Seaflo 33 12v pump.
No bikes, no dogs, but have been looking at these and other small camping trailers for a while now. Price wise they are more than a pop up with far less sleeping space but I have been dissuaded by hearing people say they are too much work. Might have to revisit Intech again.
There are definitely cheaper options out there with more space. What do they mean by "too much work"? The pursue is smaller and lighter. All models make it easy to modify to your specific needs. I will agree there are some Cons though, but its mostly due to hit and miss Quality Control by either the factory or dealership. However, Intech Customer service is amazing.
You can definitely fit an ATV. As for a side by side I'm not sure, the width may be good but I dont know that the height is there. Check out Intech's website for the true internal space dimensions.
Video was great, and I know it was a review of the trailer, and I always like to watch personal reviews vs dealer reviews, but would have been over the top to see the bikes.
Not at all. I’m 5’9”. I do have to tilt my head but it doesn’t bother me for the 10 minutes I’m setting them up, mainly because most of that time is spent bent over tying them down anyways.
Hey great video thank you. We are looking at making an offer and I think pre-covid RVs had huge markups. To help me know what to offer, do you mind letting me know what you paid for the camper (before taxes, fees, crap, etc)?
I paid 17k out the door brand new, STOCK everything. I did have to travel a few hours away from the east coast to get the better offer though. You might have a hard time getting a gently used on that low as sellers know the market is still hot. But I’d definitely try. Also look at the Intech For sale Facebook page.
@dadtube there are 6 tie downs and I just used those. Tested it once and no issues. This May is a longer trip so it’ll test it better. I don’t always take the bikes so I don’t want to invest in 2 chocks right now. But if you travel frequently with them, I’d install some chocks just for the ease of it.
Thanks! They are awesome and very easy to modify and make your own. I did not order. I'm hearing anywhere from 2-6 months depending on which model and what options you want. I did drive 4hrs to get mine as they had the color AND it was 2k cheaper than the dealer 1hr away.
Great review, thanks! Nice to see a review from an actual user instead of a dealer. Do you mind telling what the price was? Also, love your dogs. Had a white boxer myself. 🐶❤️
Thanks! With so many options available I wanted to give MY OPINION/review on this trailer. I paid 17k out the door. It all depends on availability and location. I drove 4hrs for this one and saved 2k. They are hot right now so negotiation may not be an option.
Okaaaay but WHERES JENNA?! lol Anyways, that thing looks awesome! Can’t wait to see it in person 👏🏽 Belle & Storm look like they’re living their best life 🙌🏽💕
I cannot find the interior length dimension. I am hauling motorcycles with the pit bull trailer restraint system and need to know the real length and width of the floor (not with cabinets). Could you send me those?
The interior Width is 69" and length is 97". Are you trying to order it without the slide out? I think that option turns that space into cabinet storage. I haven seen anyone order it without the interior counter and without the slide out, giving you about 2.5 extra feet.
GTZ_TV can you tell what the floor is made of? The dealership said corrugated plastic. I’m not sure the pitbull base plate will work with that. Can you seen what’s under the rubber coin mat?
I wouldn’t say “nothing”. I’ve had their floor jack for 7 years now, A heat gun for about 2, and multiple drill bits/wrenches for about 3 yrs. I’m thinking I’ll buy their Predator Generator next.
@@GTZ_TV It's all good. Was being a smart a#$. I'm actually going to buy that water pump set up. You have some good ideas I can incorporate into mine My 2022 will be here in September. I wish I paid $17.000 but mine cost 25 grand. I searched all over the north west and all dealers are asking $24999.00 including here in boise. Actually all my wrenches are from harbor freight and Lowes. So ya I'm with you brotha.
@@DavidRamirez-fe5dd 25k ?!? Ouch. I had to drive 8hrs into North Carolina from Va in order to get that 17k price. But this was also before the pandemic and supply/demand issues. Yeah I saw the water set up in the Intech Facebook page last year and was easy enough for me to do. I’m actually going to remove the stove and put in a sink in the near future. Another guy did it and the hardest part is finding a sink that’s a good fit. I’m switching to using my black stone adventure griddle with side burner, so I won’t need the stove stop anymore. And having an installed sink would make it more convenient that filling a tub every time we want to do dishes or wash our hands.
You are the first person with a trailer reviee to include mpg estimates. This is helpful and something I am looking for in reviews. Thank you!
Yeah I thought it was important. Lol. Hopefully you get better than I do. I traded in my Ram for a Tundra so its worse now. Haha!

I just discovered the explorer and discover yesterday. This is super helpful, seeing real use.
I am buying one this week. I appreciate the raw review bro!

Thanks man. Good stuff
Great vid! Two questions: how long does the popout take to set up? And how long is the popout bed? I'm tall.
The tip out doesn't take long at all, maybe 5 minutes at most, and that if one person is taking their time.
The bed itself is 46x81
