Great video! I've gotta build up the courage to start asking random people for their portraits like this, such a fantastic way to shoot. Keep up the great work, id like to eventually start a film photography YT channel.
Part of the success in street photography is one's approach & communication. People need to feel they can trust you and pose w confidence. Think you do all very well. Even more fun when you run into someone who also loves film photography. Nice. 👌
Awesome video! Currently trying to pick up one of those K1000's after my Ricoh KR-10 Super broke before I even got to use it :/ This vid definitely motivates me to go out street shooting!
I have been following you on instagram for a while now. I have only just got around to watching this video. I really rate it, would like to see more videos of you either shooting your work or testing out 35mm come ups and showing us the results. Easy watch well, would watch a monthly or weekly video. keep up the good work. Liked and Subbed.
Thank you so much! Just introduce yourself first and tell them what you're doing. You'll eventually get someone to agree (I'll talk about this in a future video)
Great job shooting and editing, sometimes it can take years for a UA-cam channel to get any screws. You have hit the ground running. And it's also good nobody cuss you out LOL that happens sometimes in big cities
Fantastic, keep up the great work. I'm going back to shooting with film again. You really inspired me bro. I'm hoping to buy a Pentax k1000 off eBay soon. Can't wait to go out and take pictures
I haven't tried using any minolta film cameras but I've heard that they seem to be pretty reliable (if you find one working). I'd suggest going with the Pentax K1000 just because it works even without batteries.
You should get an original Pentax Spotmatic with a swtich that controls the metering vs The K1000 which was made w/o switch to lower cost. The original Pentax with their Takumar Lenses is a superb camera.
Hey man, you took some really great shots there! I'd like to know what film you used, I'm getting my Pentax K1000 tomorrow and I can't wait to try it out!
TJ Canuto how did u manage the exposure ? You started taking photos with a lot of natural lighting and then got darker but your pictures looks on point. Brand new over here thanks
I'm sure you've figured it out by now but here it goes: First the film needs to be developed, mandatory step. Then you can scan it yourself if you really really want (probably you will need some software to process it), but in practice I pay the lab like 9 usd/roll for developing + SD scan to JPEG which they send to you for download. They return the developed negatives to you, you can evaluate them (or the JPEGs) and if you see you made a great shot, you can then bring the negative for further processing of individual frames, for example, you can ask for maximum quality (up to 4x the resolution, depends on the equipment the lab uses, and TIFF format with more information per pixel and less compression overall). This selective processing creates more overhead for them so they charge more per frame plus a fixed payment per job. But you save money overall since you didn't go for the maximum quality for the whole roll from the get go. Btw the equipment the lab uses is worth 10,000s of usd, so for 98 % of people the deal they offer is hard to beat. Hope this helps.
