Well first of all no hate. I will just tell you what I think but it's fine for people to have their opinion. I like the way you speak your mind. I have owned many Jaguars I was a car dealer for many years there. I have owned and driven Jaguar xj6 and XJ8 and xk12 as well as a 4.0 jaguar S-Type. I must disagree that this is not a Jaguar. Actually, I still love mine here in Germany. Oddly enough it's a twin turbo 2.7 liter diesel (never made available in the US) identical in and out to the one you reviewed, except for mine has the black leather. I often drive down to Switzerland , and on the Autobahn it's still a joy to drive at 135mph in peace and quiet. With 94,000 miles on it, I've had no real problems to speak of. My old '92 XJ-6 Vanden Plas had quite a few more back when I lived in Manhattan. Fun review though! :)
This car is a tank. Have long story with this jag, all I can say that owning both jag s type 2 7d and bmw e92 335d, bmw feels like it was made in China, ever so broken while this jag despite given hard time due to service failed to change rubber o ring and overheating, it still drives and nothing broke on it. It defeated all the stereotype I read about jaguars and the same about German engineering bmw that I am convinced is made to break.

Hey Bill, I usually never post reviews, so this should tell you something, that I was prepared to do so. First, you are one of the most masterful salesmen I’ve ever encountered. Your deep, sophisticated and impressive knowledge of every car make of every year is simply beyond imagination. Very impressive. Second, I would purchase a car from you over anyone else in an instant. Third, your commentary and banter is simply unmatched. Can’t get enough of it. No other car reviewer on UA-cam has your sense of humor. In this video, your Irish accent was simply incredible and left me thirsty to hear you say more things in Irish. Your commentary about the World War I mask was also very entertaining. Your daily weather and bird reports are in high demand. I am very glad to have ran into your first video a few months ago. I truly was missing out. I had no idea that a really cool and down to earth person like you existed. I like how honest you are about everything and you don’t care what other people think, which is a very important quality. To all the people that post negative comments, my suggestion is to disregard them. There will always be haters. I’m looking forward to watching more of these videos. Keep up the good work!
Not reading past the first sentence. This guy doesn't even have the facts straight. This car isn't Lincoln ls or ford Mondeo. Those 2 cars actually benefited from Jaguar engineers making those frames. This is one of the best handling and most dependable sedans that many never heard of. It has a comfort of bmw 7 series and drives like bmw 5 series if you have sport version with electrical CATS dampers. Have this car for 12 years. It has never been serviced. Rubber O ring was all that was changed which service botched actually. On the other hand My bmw was broken 100s of times.
I did a double take when I saw the two cars. I had the 2000 silver s type and currently own a 2005 in the seafrost color. Both were V8s. I remember when I first saw a silver s type on the road. It just pulled ahead of the pack. I could see the the leaper and knew it was a jag. I told my husband “a good husband would buy this for his wife”. Yep, I got it before too long. 🤣

Noticed the S-Type parked on the corner thru many tubes and been hoping you would review it. It's a lovely car and a lovely Jag; but the V8 was better. (BTW: the hood leaper was an optional extra). It's not a Mondeo; it's a Jag. And a bloody nice one at that. So although you kept bagging the thing, you actually praised it more. Well done Bill, keep up the great work!!

illstplaya well, actually Jaguar was channeling its design of the old Mark2 from the 60’s . Mercedes was Channelling it’s Merc’s from the late 50’s to early 60’s . Trying to revive some nostalgia from the generations gone by..Kia & Hyundai are simply trying to “mimick” luxury marques when they released cars in the mid-late 90’s , to have their brand imitate some sort of luxury. Just add Leather, chrome, curved car bodies & interior lights that fade off. These were the typical hallmarks they copied of real luxury marquess to emphasis that “we too “ can add a touch of luxury to our cars.
The S type in black was definately for the retired 'small time' gangster. Jaguar started making their cars with lots of colour choices to get away from their owners being gangsters going for the black cars all the time, however it didnt work as colours like this appealed to the gangsters wife or wives...
I owned a 2003 model. It was a blast to drive. The only issue was that almost overnight, I had to put about 4k in it to keep it running. Mainly the money went into the cooling system and suspension. Well now that you've talked anyone out of wanting it good luck selling it. I had an 03 S Type, it was a great car to 15 year's old and 157 trouble free miles. I got rid of it to buy my 2012 XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio Edition, biggest mistake I ever made. It's also designed by Ford and had the Ford V8 engine. First was the water pump, at $1,200 then an electrical short I the trunk at $350, next a $1,200 fuel pump. The next was a $2,000+ computer failure then another fuel pump. And the final straw was a blown head gasket. The car had never been hot or over heated. The car was a POS. I just traded out of it for a Lincoln MKS Eco-boost AWD sedan. Much better car. Tata now owns JLR. Don't buy a Tata in Jag Drag!

I used to own an S-Type, I believe your comments are quite right. Owned an X-Type too (the Mondeo based Jag) too, have to say the S-Type was more Jag than the X-Type.
I'm not really a people person, so this social distancing is an unexpected gift to my life. On the other hand I owned an X type and an S type and the only problem I had was, rear sub frame bushes wearing out and a solenoid replacement, on the ZF gearbox. Both cars had nearly 100k on them. I look forward to your videos and commentary! Don't change for the PC police, you're not disrespectful. Would love to see a review of an early 80's Cad Eldorado.
Thank you Bill! You have become my absolute favorite car reviewer on UA-cam. There is just something off to my eye with these S-Types, like the car ate too much and its belly is full. In my opinion the older Vanden Plus was a much better looking sedan, more of a stiff upper lip type Jaguar with fantastic coach work and leather. The little half wooden desk trays that folded down in the back seats for the Canadians were just one of many small yet fine touches. For fun search for the parody of the Cat Stevens song "The Cat's in the Kettle", very apropos for our current clown world.
I love the car. I have a 2005 v8 48k garage kept sea frost. I understand not everyone agrees but it’s still a beautiful car that is more comfortable than my infinity q50

Bill, Just wanted you to know I'm really digging your observations on the local wildlife, detailer truck mods and the build quality of some of the inventory. This was the funniest one yet and we all need a good laugh during our confinement. As for the Jag, not really a fan but really like the paint. Please keep up the good work!
Ah, that's Harry Chapin on the radio, not Cat Stevens. " Cats in the Cradle"
OK. I came across a video doing research for a car. Yes I have learned allot he is extremely knowledgeable BUT, one thing is for sure.... I think this guy is my new best friend!!!! This guy is a freaking RIOT 😂😂😂😂 I subscribed just so I can continue to be entertained!!!! Idk shit about cars but, I do know this guy is a comedian 🙌🙌🙌 So thank YOU!
This Guy should have his own talk show!!
Peace From London. 🙏🙏
OMG bill!!! This video made me laugh so hard!!! The F bombs, I was laughing to the point I was crying and couldn’t breathe. Bahahaaa Thanks for the gut busts!!!
Never thought that you would read the comments, so I never thanked you for your videos.
Well.. Thank you for all the videos and laughs all these years !
By the way I will never again watch a cubby-hole or glove box in a car without thinking if some kind of gun would fit in there, We all know that you love your guns.. but,, do people really keep switch blades around ?'??
Again, thank you for the funny and informative videos ( viewer from Portugal )
Its crazy you found an S Type that clean. Unbelievable
Evan Schwab the only non-meth head S type in the USA
@@777jones they are all beat to shit now, most are in the junkyard
I have not encountered a more funny way of describing a second hand car. What kind of meds is this guy on? Just hilarious, keep it up gramps!!
I used to own an S-Type, I believe your comments are quite right. Owned an X-Type too (the Mondeo based Jag) too, have to say the S-Type was more Jag than the X-Type.
🐤Bill, you can run but you cant fly🐤
Whatever you do don't stop making videos you're my favorite smart-ass that there is we're the same age and I get everything you say keep it up
When I come back to Naples to visit some friends, I'm coming over to give you a bottle of good whiskey-
I'm not really a people person, so this social distancing is an unexpected gift to my life. On the other hand I owned an X type and an S type and the only problem I had was, rear sub frame bushes wearing out and a solenoid replacement, on the ZF gearbox. Both cars had nearly 100k on them. People calling you homosexual are gays, who adore you and dream that you are gay! Let them sweat Bill and please continue to slice them with your rapier wit! Best channel on You Tube, you are a delight!
Bill's in top form today!
Agree👌👌👌👌 but in 2021 it looks like a classic
The best of Bill early episode 😅
Great channel, brilliant reviews, funny as he'll commentary. I had this year and model S Type. Friggin electronic parking brake was the reason I got rid of it. Kept sticking on some days, some days it wouldn't engage at all!
Saying that I do miss it!
Thanks for your videos, stay safe, respect from South East England (Kent)
Keep the reviews coming Bill. Keeping me sane during lockdown
I’m just catching up to all of Bill’s shit. Hilarious! “It’s a Ford tranny…Oh shit, I can’t say tranny any more.” 🤣🤣🤣
Bill, have you thought of opening a fried chicken restaurant next door? Could take care of two birds 🐓 one stone. Keep up the good work, you’re getting us all through this corona shit!
I love these videos! The history and knowledge you share about the cars is awesome, as is the commentary about all things observed during the video shoots.
Lmfao Leave it to Bill To Give it to Us Unedited, Unfiltered and Unforgettable 😂😂
13:44 lmfao Bill you crack me up
I look forward to your videos and commentary! Don't change for the PC police, you're not disrespectful. Would love to see a review of an early 80's Cad Eldorado.
Bill, in a PC world, don't change who you are. Your review videos are awesome!
It’s a little weird how small the interior door handles were.
I love the car. I have a 2005 v8 48k garage kept sea frost. I understand not everyone agrees but it’s still a beautiful car that is more comfortable than my infinity q50
Your humor in this video is what made me subscribe - me and my friends has send this video around to world as the humor is just gold - Please make more funny video like this - :)
I wouldn’t call myself a SJW, but I do try to watch what I say around others... this guy is funny AF. Keep it up Bill!
I am a Jew 5”11 220 lb fast like lightning
Cool. Then you will fit in the boot of this jag ... lol
give back palestine land
I've worried about you all week, you Ole bastard,, I was about to call to see if you were alright. Then this video showed up, which I'm glad it did, as your reviews are awesome, too say the least.
Stay well and keep em coming, you're #1. 😃
I always laugh at your videos. As one of those Canadians that you're always talking about cramming into the back seat of one of your beautiful cars I have to say that I wish I was in Florida for the hot muggy weather.
Worked on these At Jaguar Castle Bromwich plant was seconded By Ford Motor Co
What means seconded? Have this car 10+ years. It's realiable as hell. It's like a tank. My bmw is crap in comparison
@@martinkulik9466 it meant Ford sent me to work a Jaguar good Car's 👍
One of the best looking jaguars in history
Always love these keep them up! You make me want to buy one of your cars.
I've see this in the background of several videos and have been waiting for this review. Thanks!
I really love your videos you actually make my day
Bill you are just the best regardless of what anyone says. I love your videos they always make me laugh and you're attitude is just perfect!!! never ever change what you do or what you say. I know us Canadians drive you crazy but sending best wishes from Alberta Canada!!!!
