Those blokes have entered a kind of dreamland where improvised jazz meets the best of electronic music. Many don't realise the complexity of the music villalobos usually makes and now he's on next level . The man isn't the finished drughead a lot think he is. He's only a genius, folks
If only we lived in a world where there were more Ambiq and Re:ECM Live opportunities for Max and Ricardo. These projects are some of the most inspiring music / sound design / cultural engineering endeavours of the last century.
Haha, more than a DJ? Ricardo is kind of a King of electronic music producers. Now I understand why his music is so f---ing "organic" (I mean his techno); not a silly toy what he uses.

@@joshmo9797yeah but it is definitely an Eurorack system. For those who don't know Buchla and Eurorack have a rather different approach to modular synthesis. Buchla is more artistic in its approach while Eurorack is more scientific. It is very interesting to hear both together. They compliment each other very well.
Is not complex is about having the sense what is good sound and not good. And been prepare. One when is young gets impressed easily but is about daily practice and focus. Very good live act anyway. VillaLobos as always mastering it. I bet I can make song in five minutes. The craft.
people who criticize and those who glorify this, need to know there's is nothing really new going on here, as an avant garde thing.... this is just music. very nice fusion of jazz and eletronic music btw. Yet we dont see much of villalobos rhythmic skills here, what i think it would be great touch for the whole thing.
it takes all another level of hearing skills to hear & appreciate that..on top of that the contribution of Villalobos seems not really giving the character i was expecting to the performance..it could be very complex..but sorry guys boring as hell...can anybody explain what is the beauty to all of this experimentation live?
the sound frequency from a live instrument vs the frequency of a drum machine or computer program is different. the frequencies from real instruments hit the brain to where you feel it so much more. he is bringing the electronic music performance using real instruments. very creative.
what music do you listen to david guetta and avici? or maybe adam beyer (that is all commercial EDM music made for big masses for ppl that dont understand the complexity of music)
that really doesnt catch my attention. when i watch this i think there is so much expensive equipement out there, for nothing. elektroacoustic has been pushed much stronger than this. well that is defenetely not a way to juge it and maybe it's the kind of musik that must be experienced live. anyway nothing "new" or invented with doing stuff from 70s... depends really how it sounds live.
it looks so complicated, like they're getting ready for Mars, not some melody you can make with a calculator what are you playing ricard ....wtf que mierda

I love how ricardo's body just seems to slip into dance whenever there's some rhythm to the jam
Radu Teodor Nicolae that’s the ecstasy
It s crazy, when people are speaking about RV, they Always speak about drugs, MDMA etc... I think the music is more important.

What's the point of complex when it doesn't have anything to say?
And remember kids - DRUGS ARE BAD !
