Hey young man Nils, just discovered you today while listening to a classical music station in Toronto. You’re my new, with freshly new addition to Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, and others. Some people, new starter musicians will say “Everything was done; there’s nothing new you can do…”. No, no, no! You’re a proof that the creative mind is endless. Thank you for continuing to make people happy!

You must be a very angry and distraught man... 50 times... wow !!... Are you armed with any weapons as I'd certainly be keen on keeping you at arms length or more realistically country's length.
I just noticed, during “Says”, he’s tapping out the rhythm of the sequence playing in the background with his foot, while playing the melody on the piano in a different time signature. Are all piano players capable of this? It’s extraordinary. Truly a separation of brain hemispheres. Like two different people. Absolute genius. I don’t know what it is about “Says”. I play it to death. Lifts me up and inspires me.
It's actually quite common in trained piano players but it's unique to the instrument. You can do it with some stringed instruments like guitar but not the way you can on piano since you don't have to hold it. It opens up your other hand to play another part in another time signature. It's pretty neat tho
I watched Says and I don't think that's a different time signatures you're talking about. That's called a counterpoint but it's still the same time sig.

What an extraordinary, humble and great musician! I absolutely love his intense focus in each moment of performance and his casual, no frills style. Also, each time I watch him keeping one shoe off and the other on, for comfort and best execution of his playing, is cute and endearing. To say I wish I personally knew this man to see how these songs are born, is an understatement, as I can only imagine how the entire creative process unravels, before it ever reaches the ears of an audience. I have not witnessed any other composer, put so much progressive energy and extreme effort into a performance of this type of music. I am blown away by the passion of this musical genius and anticipating to see him live at the knockdown Center in New York, in March 2018.
That's awesome and you're very lucky! I would love to see him live anywhere. It would be a really neat experience to see him play in an old church or something. I too admire the way he performs and presents his music. How he dives right in and becomes one with his sound. He absolutely is a one of a kind artist and I hold much respect for him for doing what he does. Also, I hope the time you spent absorbing the aura of his live performance was truly monumental!

Two concerts in Berlin, several vinyls and physical albums, the whole released world of Nils Frahm at the palm of my hands on any streaming service. But nevertheless there are still three videos I'm coming back for on UA-cam once in a while, which are for one this masterpiece, the black and white live recording of 'More' in London and a private recording of 'Sunson' in Brisbane which features one of the most soothing fill-ins at the second half of the song. His music has been a part of my life for the past seven years now - whether I was sad, frightened or in a good state. Thank you so much for all the inspirational work so far and providing such a complex and unique milestone in musical history.
I knew some songs from Nils but was never a fan. Except most of the songs with Olafur Arnalds. But I remember exactly the moment, when I saw this video for the very first time, 5 years ago. It was absolutely mindblowing and it got me in another dimension! And today - I am in another dimension again!
I put this music on today at work and I have to say I was extremely amazed by how much my concentration and productivity were improved. Thank you so much Nils for generously share this gem with us all!
This version of "All Melody" is slightly different from what ended up being in the record released last year. So impressed by the fact that he's such a perfectionist that every piece of his kept evolving from the first time it was played to a couple of years later, and maybe it won't ever stop evolving. I love this version just as much. The piano solo is so so pretty.
Yep, I agree. Check out the Boiler Room x Dimensions Opening Concert Live Set (ua-cam.com/video/xih8aiacRSk/v-deo.html) for another version. All Melody / #2 / Hammers starts at 24:52 and Nils goes quite hard on the second track. At the last couple of live shows I was fortunate enough to witness, he also played an "evolved" version of Familiar. The track builds up like a giant dark looming wave (like the ones at Nazaré, in case you're familiar with that place) and it seems as if it's going to fall right on your head, but then Nils just does something magical and all your fear just vanishes and turns in to blissful joy instead.
Bin begeistert!
It's beautifully unnerving thing to listen the Beethoven or Mozart of your time right there, just making music for we humble humans. Nils Frahm, my man, I am in awe. I am blessed for the experience. You are a genius, in case no one told you today. So please, just keep on doing this same genius music stuff, would you? I really like it. Like, a lot. #beyondcomprehension #chordchanges #divinity
For almost two years cause of corona-shit I felt not that good and on top of it I punished myself not listening to music. Most songs made me cry and tear up. I am glad I got into it again and feel good. We'll see what tomorrow will bring but odds are in favor. Love that soft Jazz.
His music is orgasmic and life-giving. He has brought me up from the depths many times and made me relax, soar, and feel alive with his great talent and energy. Thank you Nils.
You are the instrument sir; the piano just a tool. Every method and pure emotion put through it is everything a master of your craft should exhibit. And in my humble opinion, you do it with such a universal beauty that allows us into your process. Since I first heard it over a year ago, I’ve listened to Says at LEAST once a day. For these few minutes alone I thank you.
Damn, this guy! I wonder where Nils' musical journey will take him next! He's set the bar so high from a technical point of view! I truly love his craft and dedication!
Nils Fram is a brilliant reflection of an era. It’s a phantom asteroid who returns to set his sights on sound art. A stupendous wave laden with paradoxes from which obscurantism and the irrational escape, hypnotic factors defying vulnerable souls in search of the infinity. This musical architecture is a translucid and short tunnel that leads to light
47:40 OH MY GOD I'm so happy that I finally got to know Nils Frahm, his music is incredible, like an unforgettable journey.. Great pianist, composer, musician, genius.
This performance moved me to build a time machine so I can return to my 3rd birthday and begin an alternative life's work that will endeavor to become half the artist you are, Nils. You're a monster! World, I bid you farewell as I depart for another dimension in space and time to pursue musical mastery as my body here proceeds along its plodding trajectory towards the void.

This kind of music that we all need, that makes us feel alive ! What a wonderful artist...
Can't wait to see him live on stage at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam this October...
Thank you so much for sharing this song with us.
Seeing him live in Paris was one of the best, if not the best, musical experiences of my life. Hats off, sir.
The beginning is an absolutely amazing smooth way to play the piano ...
this guy is just incredible, its hard to express in words
How in the world can one press dislike for this piece of art?
Saw him in Paris, the sound is so loud it's going through your whole body, especialy when 33:00 came, amazing feeling !
Man the effort you put in to your music is incredible, lost for words.
I knew some songs from Nils but was never a fan. Except most of the songs with Olafur Arnalds. But I remember exactly the moment, when I saw this video for the very first time, 5 years ago. It was absolutely mindblowing and it got me in another dimension! And today - I am in another dimension again!
Wow! this will be replayed for years to come
I couldn't take this sitting down ✨💤🌿
I put this music on today at work and I have to say I was extremely amazed by how much my concentration and productivity were improved.
This became my favorite version of "All Melody". Yes, the piano solo is just unbelievable!
scher Typ!!
#beyondcomprehension #chordchanges #divinity
just saw this guy in a big church last week in Los Angeles, and I was completely blown away by his music and emotion.
I keep coming back to listen to this amazing performance. Love it.
"All Melody" is absolutely wonderful.
1000 times replayed. Only!
I am at 100 now...
always
1001... :) no limits

Just saw him yesterday at the Barbican in London. Quite possibly the greatest two hours of music I have ever heard / witnessed. Unreal
kann ich immer wieder hören. Genau mein Ding. Vielen Dank für diese Musik!
Timeless, eternal, beautiful. Music that represent the cosmos
I am delighted. In my opinion the best performance of Nils. Wonderful, feels every sound, every vibration. I envy the audience for being there.
A rave for seated bodies and floating minds.
Diesen Monat? Wie viele Shows schaust du dir an?
An old smell, shimmering waves, blue... He is a genius..
This is absolutely, unequivocally one of the great gifts to the world, musically, spiritually, etc. Bless, Señor Frahm!
Amazing.
47:40 OH MY GOD
I'm so happy that I finally got to know Nils Frahm, his music is incredible, like an unforgettable journey..
Great pianist, composer, musician, genius.
Did you experience this live ? It's basically tectonic
Thank you.
That track at 32 minutes was the highlight of his Nijmegen gig. Stunning!
It`s a jewel. A big and beautiful one.
Nil... Your music heals... I find resolve ❤ thank you for being
