The way he puts her hand on his heart and moves his hips into hers is SO beautiful and is way more subtle and creative then any of that junk they have in movies now. The delicate song cannot get any more perfect then this. ! I know what i want in my wedding ha!
I think this part of the movie is brilliant. Mr.Redford and Mss.Scott Thomas know perfectly how to use the formality and the elegance of a dance to make it as romantic as this brilliant romantic dance scene.
The delicate simplicity of human connection backed by the awesome power of an Allison Moorer song. It really doesn't get any better than when all the right elements come together to make an awesome scene.
'I Love you' without words. Robert really knows how to pull our heart strings with this. Tom loves Annie so much, and you can see it in his eyes. Can't imagine what it must be like to lose two women you love with all your heart, both of whom love you unconditionally, but need to return to the life they knew for different reasons. This scene shows that you don't have to voice your love to someone all the time, just be with them, they'll know. I have a major crush on Robert too, BTW! Lol :) Lo
LOVE THIS!!! Robert Redford says more with his eyes than another actor could say with 50 pages of script. Maybe the reason this doesn't have more views is that when it's shown on TV, this scene is deleted. Of all the scenes in the movie they delete this one??? So lots of people don't even know it exists. Shameful. Thanks for posting.
No acting going here either. It's all reacting. her look to his..his to hers.. Quite magical. And technically to do this particular scene over and over to get all the right angles and to keep the focal point, as an audience, on their faces.. amazing.
Sigh, swoon, oh Robert, Robert, Robert. I love this scene. Soooo very romantic and not a piece of clothing came off. They never even kissed, but wow! I could watch it over and over. And Allison's voice, and a real country song. Perfection. Gonna watch it again now. Thank you for posting. And yes they do cut out this scene many times when shown on tv. Mistake BIG mistake!!
One of the all time greatest romantic scenes in any movie. There is more romance and eroticism in this scene than in any of the humping and face sucking scenes that pass for "love" in most all other movies made in the last 50 years. There are other great scenes, for one, try the kiss scene from The More the Merrier (it's on UA-cam) but very few are better than the dance from The Horse Whisperer.
oh my god this scene is so sexually charged and there isn't even any touching beyond dancing. brilliant. I just finished reading the book and it was really good and I really loved Tom's character so I really must get on watching the entire movie!
Women and men don't really need to be in love all the times, they just want to be in a good romantic moment from time to time, either with a lover or just alone. That is why most marriages are likely to be a pathway to the cemetery where romance is buried. This video gives us an intense romance between two lonely souls and tells it perfectly.
One of my favorite scenes!! Just loved this movie!! But I couldn't believe the end of it ;( Still lots of congratulations to Robert Redford for being a great director...and a handsome one too ;)
my favorite chick flick of all time. Love Montana and the whole western adventure thing. Kind of like what people were thinking when they cut the path out there with such difficulty so long ago.
When I watched this movie for the first time recently. All I kept saying was OMG, the camera angles . Picture post card perfect . They can bring such emotional impact, and they did. Memories were brought up. I thought of a time when my family was sitting at the supper table. My mother was talking to my sister about nursing The both of them worked in that field . My brother and I would always role our eyes . Patient care wasn't are favorite topic while eating. Our step fathers entrance was always a needed distraction. We would always smile when he come home from work with the old " Hi ya boys " then take off his Blue Jean Jacket and place it on the back of his chair at the table. His hard working washed hands made us feel comfortable as he reached out for the passing bowl of mashed potatoes . I'd love to smile like that again. I think we all would. Given the chance.
Love this movie, so romantic, that scene makes you just want to dance with robert reford and have him pull you into him so sexy. Cant believe he is 75 on the 18th of August. The biography is amazing had it read in three days.
@joviroses80 I know it is such an amazing scene and he is such a good actor/director. I can't believe you had it read in three days, it is a thick book! But it is very good.
@2010MissCooper I agree, the book was better than the film, except im not 100% sure about the ending of the book, it doesn't really fit with the rest of the novel.
The sanctity of the marriage bond is nothing that no man or woman has the moral right to do. Yes, temptations come, but the true test of one's character is whether they have the selfless love for their betrothed to resist it. Like in this scene, the temptation can be shown in a lovely light, but breaking the bond is as ugly and horrid as each of us will ever find.
Thank god someone else thinks this way! I've seen the movie before the book but I really did prefer the book...except for the ending. I was a bit deceived and disgusted.
How typical of a woman. She has a terrific husband. A husband who is a handsome, kind, and good man. Good career and father. BUT, it's not enough. How typical... ... ...
I felt uncomfortable watching this scene because they were in a public place and her husband was there, and Redford never needed to do titillating scenes like this in his romance movies before. Why now when he's a grandfather? So disappointing.
The way he puts her hand on his heart and moves his hips into hers is SO beautiful and is way more subtle and creative then any of that junk they have in movies now. The delicate song cannot get any more perfect then this. ! I know what i want in my wedding ha!
robert redford is a beautiful and stunning man, and this scene is fabulous!
One of the most romantic scenes I've ever seen...almost brings me to tears :')
Less is definately more in this case!!!
What a lovely song, so romantic ! I love this movie and particularly this scene. Robert Redford is so handsome...
The song and their dancing........takes my breath away!!!
I think this part of the movie is brilliant.

just finished watching the movie again after a long time, I never could've left him : )
This scene always gives me crazy butterflies.
omg, she is so beautiful and I cry just by the expression on her face, this is brilliant!!
'I Love you' without words. Robert really knows how to pull our heart strings with this. Tom loves Annie so much, and you can see it in his eyes. I could cry. Hug, dance, dream. That's why I Love country Music.

Best scene in the movie.

@SammieDowney I know doesn't he! He's amazing! Have you read the new biography on him? Its great
Ms Centrum 04- I think of how he's lost Paul Newman, Dearest Friend----and wish him well.Lovely scene!
He looks like he could be Brad Pitt's father.
Does anybody know the name of the song that came at the end of their dance?
@2010MissCooper I agree, the book was better than the film, except im not 100% sure about the ending of the book, it doesn't really fit with the rest of the novel.
want to held like this
QUIERO BAJARLO ES FANTASTICO

@SammieDowney -- i know doesn't it *sigh*
i dont know am i too old fashion guy but it bothered me that shes married
