So beautiful stated. I’m actually so surprised by how many Christians don’t seem to understand this. It’s very simple but so imperative that we understand. We are to say “ Christ is King” in love. Not used as a weapon.
Why not both? The world is being overrun by hoards of demons and any weapon especially such as this should be employed.

Thank you for this reflection, Lila. It was one that I didn't realize that I needed. We often get so caught up in political discourse with religion often overlapping. In our passion and in an honest desire to defend the faith, we can do so in a way that is uncharitable and in turn doesn't truly reflect our faith and the love that God wants us to show one another. I imagine this is a very difficult line to straddle for political figures of faith, but when we aren't sure how to proceed, we should always chose the path that shows the greatest love, while still vehemently defending our faith. Thank you for doing this so well. Prayers for you and your ministry.

Lila, I would like to add that had it not been Christ’s will to be killed for us and had it not been expressed many a time to Peter, Peter would fully be in his rights to slash anyone trying to wrongfully apprehend Christ.
The problem of Peter isn’t in the act itself but in the fact that he was trying to get in front of Jesus’ will. Cast your mind back to the “get behind me Satan” episode.
The lesson here isn’t, “don’t defend your friend with arms if others try to kill them”, it’s, “don’t place your will against God’s.”

What assessment of Candace Owens? There are a number of people online at the moment involved in this Christ the King issue. I don't think it's good or Christian to put words in another person's mouth. Lila didn't mention Candace.

I'm not a Christian but definitely conservative, and I have to admit that I used to use Christianity and it's values as a shield to fight the woke agenda, and then at some point I realized, what am I really doing with this?... I'm not even a Christian myself. And as Christ said, his kingship is not of this world... so what the hell am I trying to fight here? Now I'm trying to focus more on myself and my own behavior, trying to build bridges and rebuild friendships even with leftists (even though I'm still very right-wing), but I just don't think that being in a constant defense position was leading me anywhere good. People have a lot of good things to offer, even when they're wrong about some things.

It has always amazed me that the most powerful person that has ever been born, voluntarily suffered the same torture and death as a thief or murderer. And it was done for us!!! But his reasoning makes perfect sense when you add up all of his teachings, especially when he tells his disciples that the greatest love is to lay down your life for your friends. Great video! Lets not sink to the level of sinners but lets also not be victims. We must be strong, level headed Christians, and we must know our Bibles. We are going to need to know how to stand up for ourselves respectfully and intelligently.

However, our very existence seems to offend others! Deep down, they do not live us because we follow Jesus Christ.

I think you're misunderstanding what we mean by Christ is King. It's not a statement that he's a military ruler. It's a statement that I'm not king, you're not king, Jews aren't the kings, only Jesus should rule. It's a statement that we should govern our society by the principles of Christianity.
This should be uncontroversial. If Christ should rule the hearts of all of us, then surely Christ should rule in the hearts of our political leaders as well.

I totally agree with not using that term as a cudgel. I just saw the context in which Candace Owens posted that, and it was totally self-righteous. It was terrible seeing such a great truth being used as a cudgel against a jew whose people were just plunged into terror because of islamic terrorists. And she was cryptically posting bible verses pertaining to love of money too in the context of that kind of animus towards israel or jews. Wow, way to totally defy the spirit of Christ is King. When you say Christ is King to a Jewish person, you're saying it as a f u. Possibly even going as far as using the Lord's name in vain. That's antisemitism.

There is no wrong context to declare that Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Christ is King. Those who are offended by hearing it are the ones that need it the most.
"By their fruits you shall know them". If the people spouting "Christ is king" act like hateful people, why would anyone want to join such a religion. It would be a clear indication that there is some spiritually wrong with that religion.
The fact that every Catholic UA-cam channel that is not Rad trad has looked fairly and honestly at this “Christ is King” drama and is able to both declare “Christ is King”, and yet still denounce the clear blasphemy happening, should be an indication of what kind of people are pushing this drama. This is so wrong and not the catholic understanding of Christ The King. We literally have a feast day called Christ the king. Which asserts kingship of christ over the world. And its the denial of his divine kingship of this world is the exact reason why we have abortion and all the ills of society. He is the king over the whole world in a literal sense.
It is important for us as Christians to understand this. And not shy away from that proclamation
Jesus is king of America of Africa of Asia of Europe of the whole earth.
There is nothing anyone can do or say to make that not so. Lets not mistake his mercy for his lack of authority. That couldnt be further from the truth.

Love you always, Lila, but this rings ultimately false. It is always right to proclaim Christ is King. The person who says it may be using it falsely, the person saying it may be a jerk, but it is always an inherently true and good and beautiful proclamation of the Gospel. Christ is King should be told to everyone, Jew and Gentile alike, and that is not an attack against them, but the Biblical sense of Love, proclaiming the truth in a yearning for them to repent and accept Jesus Christ so that they can inherit Heaven.

Lila, I respect you and admire your work, but this video contains heresy saying that Christ's kingship doesn't include here on earth. As multiple commenters already pointed out -- please read Quas Primas to understand that Christ's kingship very much should be implemented here on earth, and it's this very thinking that leads to evil laws such as laws allowing abortion. Christ the King should reign in our hearts, minds, laws, civil codes, and the hearts and minds of our political leaders. This is Catholic teaching 101.
