Lovely, I remember years ago going to collect my Ertl version of The Car from the post office and getting really excited to get it home and open it up. What a piece of kit. This Auto World version looks identical tooling, the only difference being the Ertl model had orange front indicator lamps, whereas this model, looks to have clear lamps. Also still treasure my Barris signed Munster coach. Keep up the great videos and happy collecting.
I bought this, 20 years ago, by muscle cars. Still love it, I kept the spinal, box, as I usually do. So well done. I also have the original movie. An original, pictures with broken etc... Years ago I put it on ebay, a seller wanted to, but it, I told him I have, the movie as well, etc.. he had no interest, in the movie, or pictures. It was obvious to me, he was no collectors. So I kept it. Happy I did. Along with all my other, collectibles. My stuff is worth, over, $20,000 . But I enjoy them, to much, to sell anything. Just can't do it. Nice video. I'm now 61 years old, an build models as well. One batmobile is now, worth $5,000 0r more. I never had the intention, of collecting at the time, now, I'm happy, I did not waste my money. I bought the car, at the time, for $18.00 dollars. At toys on fire. The only one they had. The value of the, today his, very expensive, but you probably, know that. Michael, Ottawa, Ontario 2024.
Thank you so very much for the kind words! I’m just starting out collecting these cars and I’m glad you liked the video. I’m also glad you kept your edition instead of selling to someone who wasn’t committed to it entirely. Cheers from Florida 👍
Friend, you chose a great car for your horror colection. I too own one but my was built by a company called AMERICAN MUSCULE. I got it way back when TOYS R US was in business. The one I have has a better built especially in back bumper. Yours has oversize rear bumpers while mine has the correct size. The funny thing about movie THE CAR, all the cars in the movie were either all destroyed or scrapped. Why you ask because Barris didn't think the movie was going to be hit or go big. That is why you don't see THE CAR at the Barris museum when he was alive. Every other movie or celeberty or famous car was at his museum except THE CAR itself. Which is sad to know. But I do own the DVD in Blueray.
Awesome to hear that you have a version of this car! Yes they went through quite a few cars in the making of the movie as did with the movie Christine 😎 thank you for your comment.
Duel (1971) + Jaws (1975) = The Car (1977)

well, a massive W that's got to be the most OG horror car
👍😎
I kinda hate how Christine has both a big and small version but the car only has a big version
@@AshtonEvanBoyzPoint yeah I agree just stick with the 1/18 scale all around!
I wonder if they will ever make a diecast version of the car from the 2019 sequel
@@AshtonEvanBoyzPoint you never know-they should tho,would be badass 😎
