@@exileut Not really. Marty would say Moog once or twice BUT, he’ll never call Moog by his name. Just like how Moog would always call him Martin instead or Marty.
These guys are an inspiration for enthusiasts. Literally going from your moms driveway to the dream of having a serious, attainable, home workshop. And they did it through originality, hard work, and without pandering to anyone.
@Martin welcome to Sweden were only like 10% of the appartments are rental 😅 if you are Young you have to start with a big mortgage to be able to move out. Atleast in Stockholm.
You can buy cheap houses out west, ppl who whinge about house prices are either 1) inner city snobs living a well off life due to intergenerational social class wellbeing or 2) trying to buy "ferrari" properties in their first entry into the market. You can get 3 bedder homes in MooreBank for like 750k or cheaper in other Western Syd areas. Think outside the inner city bubble. I bought my unit in the Canterbury banks town area in 2011 for 280k.
Real estate... NOT an investment? What are you gonna say next? That housing is a basic human right or something crazy like that? (laughs in Californian)
I got lost in Cheryl's box once. Wandered around for hours trying to find my way out. Finally I muttered aloud, "Man, if I could just find a flashlight." Then I heard, "Flashlight? If you can find the my car keys, we can drive out of here."
From the driveway to a dream shed, what a journey. I was lucky enough to find some land with some old abandoned-but-savable factory type warehouses from the better part of a century ago about in the woods (Midwest USA). I rebuilt those, one for car storage, the other divided up into a smaller workshop that's for building/repairing mostly vintage clockwork/mechanical stuff (watches, clocks, cameras, music boxes, etc). That part is mostly my hand tools, benches, and smaller machining equipment. The rest of the building is a 2 door 4 bay workshop for mostly auto stuff and an isolated paint booth/room for the third door. I built my subterranean home on the same land, looks like an old bunker from the top with skylights showing on the exposed concrete with metal rolling shutters. Two story unground with open design in the middle to take advantage of as much natural light as I could (and to keep it from feeling as closed in). The biggest pain was all the security tbh, it's not uncommon for questionable people trying to steal anything and everything. I haven't had any problems but I also put up metal walls for fencing topped with barbed wire, cameras everywhere, signs, etc. It's like a private Prison; I honestly hate having to make it look like that, but I don't want my things stolen.
Still blows my mind that I started watching you guys 13 years ago when I was in high school. It's been one hell of a journey and I can't wait to experience even more with you guys. Much love from the states.

As a guy that wholesales solar, it's awesome to see you have invested in a quality inverter. SMA were the first company to sell solar inverters and make proper solid gear. Nice work, i'd love to know more about your battery storage, as i see you have a 3 phase inverter, do you have a single phase battery, or a battery per phase?
You don't want to look at my shed mate. It's larger with less than half the usability at the moment. It's a 45x30'. currently filled to the brim with stuff of my own plus my recently passed father in law's shed. Large bandsaw, planer, facer, cabinet table saw, lathe, router tables, every woodworking gizmo you can imagine. My own mechanics tools (I used to work as a tech, for many years. So a ginormous toolbox with every automotive tool) a lawn tractor, a zero turn mower, pressure washer 2 different lawn tractor trailers, 30 different storage tubs of the wife's stuff, a Harley, compressor, 2 different welders, couple grinders, some shelving rack things I salvaged from a work van, and leftover parts from 6 different vehicles I don't own anymore but "there're still good and I might need them". Also 6.5KW of solar on the roof.
Dude, I really needed this when I was building my shed of the same size + hoist. In the end, I took my time planning everything and We both have very similar setups and great looking sheds. Love your work.

Thank you so much for this video Martin, this is gonna help me out greatly. Next month were moving into a 3 bedroom home that has a well built but not large enough to hold a car shed. I now have some great ideas on how to organize all my tools and supplies. Solar power wasn't even on my mind but you got me considering it now since I have great exposure with no trees around the shed
the TB02 was my first on-road chassis I bought back in like 2006-2008! The car i had previous was a nitro rustler i bought with grass cutting money that took 3 months. such simpler times.
My dream shed Marty, Going from a single garage to a double garage was a big upgrade for me. I Would love to see you guys fix a repairable write off one day. Seeing you guys progress with panel and welding skills it would be awesome to see and something a bit different. Loved the Mira body panel work
I just saw one of the new Ford rangers and a early 2010s f150 next to each other today and noticed they’re almost the same size….a 2000s or older ranger - I’d laugh with you, but a current USA ranger - I understand his comment
@@jorgeantonini201 its not about that even. But when you are constantly around s-chassi, subarus, mini, and other small nuggets, the ranger is "big" ;)
@@mycosys Gen 1 Ford Ranger was the same vehicle as the Gen 4 Ford Courier with a v6, my old PJ courier i used to buy parts from the US as it was cheaper than domestic because of that sweet sweet 2012-13 exchange rate.
Glad to see some Rc cars still occupy some space in the shed. I was really hoping for some cycling updates as there are all types of bikes around the sheds it seems like.
Nice stocked shed. One of the best items i added to my shed for comfort was a couple of Whirly birds on the roof, the difference in temp is amazing. Any smoke leaves also.
I'm definitely adding that ryobi storage rack. Solar and water storage are too expensive for me to add, but I think it's cool you did it. I recently added a quickjack which was a major purchase for me. So far I love it. Thanks for sharing Marty!
Are you two Aussie? I feel we normally only call an attached garage a "garage", regardless of its use for storing cars or not. I've always heard anything detached referred to as a shed or if it's massive, a workshop.
Aussies have different definitions of a bunch of stuff like this. Another example is the word "dam". Here it refers to the body of water, not the structure that holds it back. A pond or reservoir or even a small lake gets called a dam. I've lived here 20 years and it still does my head in.
@@Epic501 In the US we call them garages, whether or not they're attached. Sheds are usually smaller in size, but I figure they are solely for storage (not to say you can't work on stuff, just there aren't dedicated tables for working). Workshops are sheds with dedicated work surfaces, at least that's what I'd figure. I wouldn't be at all surprised that Marty calls it that for tax/builder's code, cause a "workshop" would cost more or simply be unfit to be built there...but I can say, I don't live there.
I really like how you've taken advantage of the roof area for water reclamation and solar. As someone who has a very small council garage with no leccy or light, I also have space envy. Mine is filled with kids toys, bikes etc. Somewhere in there is also a motorcycle project and a workbench
Awesome tour, try putting a few yard watering doodles up on the roof and plumbing water to those, it'll help cool the shop down with very little maintenance and hardly any electricity.
I love how environmentally friendly that workspace is. The self-sufficiency of power and water is great. What sucks in the US is we have fairly ridiculous rainwater collection laws, based on a ridiculous fear of someone 'water starving' a neighboring farmland. I'm glad you can collect and store enough rainwater to use without burdening the municipal system there.
Awesome setup, This i feel is a real garage that is used not like some people that have all this fancy stuff in there garage and never use it for anything but washing their car.
as someone who is about to spend a hefty amount of money on a house and trying to decide if i buy a house with an existing shed or build new some of this information was actually extremely useful and some things i had not thought about. im glad i clicked the video! also keen to put up my MCM flag
A little tip regarding the paint. If you store the metal tins upside down, the paint will stay good for a lot longer, since you eliminate the risc of oxygen getting inside of the tin :)
Cool shed! I'm currently working on a car port, got the roof done and sides tarped, but the hope for the future is to fully wall it in so I have room to work on my DelSol. Best part of these tiny cars is the take up barely any space

@@jrf6989 It's cold for a country that is used to extreme heat (40-45c), especially when homes are designed to keep cool not warm here. But I can definitely appreciate how cold it must get across the pond
@@WigneyR In that perspective.... that's cold! have a good one!
@@jrf6989 I disagree. My mother's home used to get down to -6C in winter in the 90s and early 2000s. Richmond, western Sydney. Globally warming hardly sees it getting close to frost now. That's colder than the years I spent in the UK ;-). Same area gets to over 46C in summer.
As someone who is in the planning stages of getting a shed built, this is so beneficial to see how a functional shed all comes together. Stay safe lads.
Tell me you're in lockdown without telling me you're in lockdown.
We aren't at the track or out on an adventure, otherwise the videos look kinda similar :P
it's the 'new normal'....
thanks gladys ....
ps i'm in perth where we ..touch wood..don't have such nonsense atm...
just cold rain and bloodly great winds

Bmw g310r!!! I bought mine brand new and I absolutely love it!!! Was buzzed to see it in the background! Need to get the underside and the radiator protector painted! 😁
Solid ideas here, ive been contemplating a remodel on my shed…
Thank you so much for this video Martin, this is gonna help me out greatly. I've been living in a 1 bedroom apartment for almost 2 years now with my wife and have almost all my tools in the living room. Next month were moving into a 3 bedroom home that has a well built but not large enough to hold a car shed. I now have some great ideas on how to organize all my tools and supplies. Solar power wasn't even on my mind but you got me considering it now since I have great exposure with no trees around the shed
I wanna see Moog’s studio. I bet it’s dope.
the TB02 was my first on-road chassis I bought back in like 2006-2008! The car i had previous was a nitro rustler i bought with grass cutting money that took 3 months. such simpler times.
When's the first episode of mighty house mods available?
My dream shed Marty, Going from a single garage to a double garage was a big upgrade for me. I Would love to see you guys fix a repairable write off one day. I just bought a 2014 WRX repairable write off with front end damage as my next project car. Seeing you guys progress with panel and welding skills it would be awesome to see and something a bit different. Loved the Mira body panel work
“A big car like a Ford Ranger”
*Laughs in American* 🇺🇸
I just saw one of the new Ford rangers and a early 2010s f150 next to each other today and noticed they’re almost the same size….a 2000s or older ranger - I’d laugh with you, but a current USA ranger - I understand his comment
@@jorgeantonini201 its not about that even. But when you are constantly around s-chassi, subarus, mini, and other small nuggets, the ranger is "big" ;)
@@maxpower700 we dont have the old Ford Ranger in Australia, only the new Aussie designed one, so it really is kinda about that
@@mycosys Gen 1 Ford Ranger was the same vehicle as the Gen 4 Ford Courier with a v6, my old PJ courier i used to buy parts from the US as it was cheaper than domestic because of that sweet sweet 2012-13 exchange rate.
Glad to see some Rc cars still occupy some space in the shed. I was really hoping for some cycling updates as there are all types of bikes around the sheds it seems like.
This made my day. Never clicked on something so fast
Same here dude 😆
And i was just literally dropping my toolbox to start working, looks like I'm gonna have to start working a little bit later 😆
And me too!
Haha same! Wanted to see if the Gemini was hiding in the shed!
Nice stocked shed. One of the best items i added to my shed for comfort was a couple of Whirly birds on the roof, the difference in temp is amazing. Any smoke leaves also.
"winter never gets cold" I see you haven't been to Ballarat
Saving up to buy insulation for my shed 🤣
Yeah, I could not figure out how he was still getting solar in the winter... then I remembered where they are. XD
I'm definitely adding that ryobi storage rack. Solar and water storage are too expensive for me to add, but I think it's cool you did it. I recently added a quickjack which was a major purchase for me. So far I love it. Thanks for sharing Marty!
Dude's out here calling a full garage a freaking shed.
If you think that’s a big home set up, jump across and look at Hackshop Garage’s set up.
Such an amazing video.. seemed so professional and frankly i was amazed to see that it was actually moog filming it... Cheers.
"winter never gets cold", Marty come visit Canberra, was -2 this morning haha!
Lol - 2 is not cold
@@therickman1990 -2 is the coldest winter. Needs to be -10 to be nice.
@@therickman1990 Try it in a house with minimal/no insulation. Australian homes are generally very poorly insulated.
absolutely love a shed tour.also very jealous. definitely a moog shed tour
Been here since me and Marty's mum had Marty in her garage.
Please stop being afraid.
We Ameri's love you all, and stand by you.
This only happens because we allow it.
Awesome shed btw!
Marty’s got more money into his shed than I’ve got into my house.
Moog, are you feeling well. Sooo quiet, he's a listener. Awesome shed Martin. You did it right, happy motoring. ✌ peace.
Are we going to just gloss over that Flat 6 sitting on the floor...
Moogs camera work trying to get everyone to look at it
From the typical Aussie suburban home garage (of your mum's), to your own with everything mad that you need! I am envious to say the least!
Can we give some appreciation for the g310r
Perfect sized shop. Big enough to do pretty much anything but small enough to force you to keep it clean and not get too many projects.
I really like how you've taken advantage of the roof area for water reclamation and solar. As someone who has a very small council garage with no leccy or light, I also have space envy. Mine is filled with kids toys, bikes etc. Somewhere in there is also a motorcycle project and a workbench
Marty, you shed kicks @ss!!! Can wait to see Moog’s and se the difference.
Moog was so quiet the entire time I thought it was the mystery third camera guy filming! Really cool video. I loved seeing the walkthrough of it
Awesome tour, try putting a few yard watering doodles up on the roof and plumbing water to those, it'll help cool the shop down with very little maintenance and hardly any electricity.
This gets me keen! I've Currently got a 30x9x4.2 shed kit sitting at home waiting for the slab to go in hopefully next week weather permitting. 😁😁
man, moogs shed would be AWESOME
wainting for this amazing journey
Oh man, That TB-02 Subbie was my big boy RC. Fun memories
I have my eyes set on GS310 to get my started on adventure riding :). Your shed is perfect!
Marty and moogs friendship is goals.
US laws really aren't that restrictive on collecting. The only story I've heard is about someone building holding ponds and dams.
Oldschool Tamiya represent! Thankfully, the adult role-models at my car club were of the SEND IT variety :-D
Nice shed marty. Pretty much my dream setup, but without a bar. Keen to see moogs shed
