Nice Altafbhai - I spent my childhood living on Zanaki Street near the Odeon roundabout. I and my friends used to mess around on the Odeon Roundabout in the evening. Do you remember 'kara' the old jugu (roasted peanuts) seller. He only used to sell for a few hours each evening and many people used to be disappointed when he sold out his day's stock of various snacks he used to sell like BC, jugu mawe, 'bafela' jugu (boiled peanuts) etc etc.
Excellent clip,Altafbhai..There were 2 Alimanga buildings in my Dar time..1952-64..was born in Dar 1952..my birthplace...so in US terminology,I am IndianTanzanian..One Alimanga building is the one that you always show in the clip and the other one was bang opposite to this existant one...just next to vegetable vendors round the corner..a smaller one though.and just next to it,towards earlier Kisutu Housing was our Maratha Mandal,..There was a huge hotel at Dallas Super Market location on way to my school,Mtendeni..Ask your Dad or Natasha's Dad..They might recollect..!! Dar keeps on changing since then..!!We have around 30 Dar Maratha Mandal guys living today at Pune,India..all over 70yrs..Miss Dar bhai...!!
Please also visit the Sunni mosque on the Mosque street and the Sweet Meats shop next to it called Taj Sweets i believe and and also the Dar City Jamaat Khana. Thank you very much 🙏
How about historical mentions (I.e pre 1980s). First Supermarket in Dar was White Heart Supermarket managed by Tejpar family 1960 to 1973. Located close to the original Bhora Masjid.
@AltafDaya : left July 1973, want to make comeback. Don't know if this Rock n Roll star will fit the new DSM gen. Request to contact you. Contact info please?
Thank you very much. If you still have time. Please visit the Mtendeni primary school again and show inside of the class room with students and teachers. Thank you very much in advance.
Hello.... Unfortunately they do not allow you to record the class in progress and students. When I went, the school was going on and therefore I couldn't record the classroom. Sorry about that. You will see the video I did of Mtendeni school on my channel as well -

Is it safe to walk in the evening in Dar? It was not so few years ago.
City Centre is relatively safe. You however need to be vigilant and careful not to flash your phone or wallet in public
Thank you very much.
