    Anger was designed after his voice actor, Lewis Black. If you ever watch his stand-up comedy, he acts exactly like Anger.

      I notice Anger is always reading a newspaper just like Lewis Black takes most of his material from reading the news.

    What I really liked about the design of joy is that blue is included not only in her hair but in her outline and that to me was hinting at the moral of the movie. That sadness is needed even when feeling joy. One can't truly exist without the other

    Apart from the beautiful lesson about sadness, this movie also helped me a lot to visually explain some of my dissociative identity disorder to friends and family. It's quite similar to my experience and for that reason it has a very special place in my heart. Loved your commentary!! ❤️

    Disney has announced an Inside Out 2, so many of the themes that are simplified will most likely be expanded on.

    I'm surprised you skipped over the death of bing bong. I believe that scene in the memory dump showed an aspect growing up and letting go of and moving on from childhood actions, activities, memories

      Honestly, it came down to an editing decision for timing ... and not wanting to cry on camera haha. But it was definitely an important scene, too, and I do wish I had've kept it in the final cut!

    Stereotypes are shorthand in storytelling. The movie wasn’t about Riley’s progressive dad or her aggressive mom - there wasn’t time to show her parents as well rounded unique individuals, so if the audience is to have a sense of who these people are without showing them much, it is easier to suggest that these people are well established tropes.
    If it were a tv series or book where one has time to actually get to know the parents then subverting expectations would probably be easier to do without distracting from the main story

    I was fascinated and did see a theory on how maybe the mother mightve gone through a depression in the past and was able to manage it (sadness seems to be stable and lead) and the father might've also gone through anger management and was able to manage it as well.

  • @nemomarcus5784
    @nemomarcus5784 Рік тому +1

    What you seem to be missing is that this is a highly allegorical movie. The mother and father figures are not meant to be 3 dimensional characters.
    In the tarot deck (I was a film/English major and found tarot cards good for story analysis). The mother and father characters are similar to the Empress and Emperor card meanings.

  • @samseddmedia
    @samseddmedia 7 місяців тому +1

    Let me remind you that even though some character designs, even in animation, might not make sense, it's part of the visual exaggeration and appeal. The movie is trying to get those ideas across in the most believable way it can.

    the combination of sweet (pineapple) and salt (ham) is great on pizza as well.
    the problem is that most people don't know how to cook with pineapple.
    in the end you'll get a decent ham and cheese pizza with sturdy dried-out chunks of pineapple.
    you need to dice the pineapple in small cubes, same size as green peas, braise it in it's own liquid till soft.
    add the pineapple in the last 5 minutes of baking your pizza. side note, also keep the ham moist during baking.

    • @nunyabizness7748
      @nunyabizness7748 10 місяців тому

      Exactly, also the tomato sauce is essential. It's the perfect medium between the sweet tang of the pineapple and the salty savory ham. But you have to have the right amount. Too little, and you taste the clash of flavors, too much the tomato overpowers and you get a mess.

    No one forgets their memories the way Riley did. Forgetting your imaginary friend when you were a kid realistically seems pretty impossible to me

  • @darastarscream

    Pineapple is an Advanced Topping. It can be delicious but it's easy to screw up in application and it's a very particular taste. I think the hatedom's a bit much but I get why people don't care for it.

  • @buzzlightyearlight1247

    There’s no way the forget part is realistic unless falling off those cliffs meant some kind of brain damage that completely wiped out a memory

    Pizza talk. In general, I don't tend to like any combination of meat and sweet, so yes, that includes pineapple on pizza. It kinda feels like you dropped soda or juice on your food. This is why ketchup is my archnemesis (along with whoever in the history of my country decided that you should put chocolate on chicken).

      Wait, but tomatoes are fruits, and they typically make up the sauce on most pizzas...

  • @Jeff_Lichtman
    @Jeff_Lichtman 2 роки тому +7

    I agree that pineapple doesn't belong on pizza. The movie does get a trivial point wrong, though. Hawaiian pizza was invented in Canada. If you're going to blame someone, blame Canadians, not Hawaiians. Calling it Hawaiian pizza is just a form of cultural appropriation. And, no, I'm not being serious.
    The scene at the end where Reilly cries in front of her parents illustrates something important. Tears are not just a release so you can feel better. They're a form of communication. It was necessary for the parents to see how upset she was so they could understand her needs.

    Hey was watching I feel like u explained more of the movie which is more of a review than a reaction! I think reactions are more about feelings and emotions right on the spot then describing the movie and analyzing the movie. From now on maybe analyzing would be a batter tittle even if it’s your first time watching technically describing things seem more like a studying and describing other than reacting with emotions or thoughts

      Thanks for the feedback 😊 I think everyone’s definition or interpretation can look a little bit different. For me these videos and the way I reflect on what I’m watching from my perspective are how I react to films (on or off camera), so that’s why I’ve titled them this way similar to other therapist reaction channels who do the same. But I could definitely improve including more of my emotions into the videos so again thank you for your feedback and for watching xx

      So when u watch movies with friends you talk this much about information you know? Or do u sit back and react to emotional scenes. I really mean this in a good way you are a great informational channel and you give great evidence but if you don’t agree reactions should be about how you react to the content that’s okay but I think you would make great content on informational content

    Not hate at all but your more describing other than reacting so maybe I believe you have a great informational channel vs reaction! A lot of channels react for the fist time but involve more reactions or crying or laughing while u explain good information and more like analyze

    at the end of the movie we see the inside emotions of multiple people (and animals),
    all of them have emotions are the same gender as the character and look the same as the character.
    emotions in mom are all female and look the same as mom, the emotions in dad are all male and look the same as dad,
    but Riley has both genders that look nothing like her, perhaps Riley is more gender fluid and could be trans.
    could also be design choices to make it more easier to understand and while adding some fun

      @@raziel7148 nice label, but identity politics never talk about the after effects of such procedures, children mental facilities are not fully developed until late teen years, all this propaganda is dooming them to suffering and potential death just to go along with the narrative, we need to stop caring about an agenda and start caring more about the child long term.

    I realize that this is a 2-year-old video, and it's unlikely that you'll be actually seeing this comment but... you did mention a couple of times the gendernormative presentation of the parents. And yes, it is stereotypical, but, if you look deeper deeper, you will see a very very progressive presentation of Riley herself:
    If you look at the emotions of every other character, it is clear that the genders of all of the emotions correspond to the identifiable gender of the character.
    Except Riley.
    Her emotions are both male and female. That makes Riley the first non-binary character I've seen in any Disney and or Pixar film.

    On the pizza debate, you're thinking of pizza as being monolithic; pizza can only be one thing and any variation is icky. Instead, change the paradigm of what pizza is or can be. Calamari is tasty, but if you call it fried octopus, it seems less appealing. Gumbo is made from whatever you have leftover; no set recipe, no 'correct' ingredients. Let go of your prejudices, in all things, and live a fuller, more meaningful life.

    It isn't a reaction video. It's an interview. You didn't even watch the movie. You just talked without even breathing every single seconds. It annoys me when people do that. Reaction doesn't even have to include talking. Only seeing your face while watching the movie would be enough for us. We are wondering your gestures, not your opinions.

      You know that it's a therapist video, no? Everyone who looks for a therapy reaction, looks for the commentary of said specialist, for their perspective on the complex themes, not for the reaction. I didn't write in my search bar "Therapists react to ..." to just see a face reacting without actually talking. This is the dumbest comment I've ever seen

      Well people watch a therapist for the talking, not the reaction lol. Even if it's not clearly stated, a therapist reacting to something, is basically an analysis video, and that's just the way it is.
