OK. So after a little time, I really love Kristian Lavercombe (6:14). It was a little tough to tell because the audio was a bit off from the video but if those were his lips singing, and his face...well...facing(?) I was not only blown away by his performance but also the musical arrangement of this group. He had just the perfect amount of "disturbed" looking to make it memorable. Yet looking at Stuart Matthew Price, I was floored by his arm movements. So defining. One really had the arm movements and the voice, and the other really had the facial expressions and the voice...I really love them all though.
Second to last one was the best loved how he rolled his R in River and his powerful voice how long he held the last not wow. Plus I love his facial expressions and I prefer the gothic Riff Raff then the rocker ones. But all of them have great voices. I think I rewatched the second to last one about 10 to 15 more times and no I’m not exaggerating at all couldn’t get enough of his voice and performance.

Danish, when you say the FIRST one, do you mean when the show first opened in Chelsea? I lived in the King's Rd at the time. I was there for a great many performances in the theatre, as I was 'keeping company' with Frank-n-furter at the time. That first Frank-n-furter was Larry Whitehurst, he was the best one, not just because I was biased, Larry had the deepest most powerful voice. He was also beautiful with his makeup on. Blonde wavy hair down to on his shoulders and around 6'5". Don't know how he got stockings to fit him though. And Richard O'Brien, the guy who wrote the show, was definitely the BEST Riff Raff ever! And what a lovely man he was! Quietish and unassuming off stage. Oh, those were some great memories!
this is matthew mckenna erasure no but for real though no one can compare to Stuart Matthew Price. The current european Riff, Christian Lunn, is also great, but really, Price is the one true Riff for me lol

The way Richard O'Brien sang it was the only version that was not trying to be beautiful, where as every other version was showing off their vocal chops and looking for that clap factor. Says a lot that all of the other versions also tried to make Riff Raff look cooler and less bald. I think all of them missed the character totally. Why hasn't anyone tried to make him uglier, stupider, or more menacing? I just see Frank N' Furter envy going on, where these performers want to do what the lead is supposed to take on; be a weird, sexy, cool diva with huge songs. Doesn't work. Much, much prefer the original.

It impressive vocally but he is massively over acting with big jerking movements to get extra attention and then he crashes the other performers parts by over extending his note. He seems to have his mic turned up much louder as well. Kind of disrespectful and narcissistic.
...and almost none of them seem able to to allow that riff-raff is a grotesque. Seemingly their ego(r) won't allow them to play the part as anything other than shades and flowing locks sexy.
