I remember crushing out on Tim when he was in a BBC production about Shakespeare in the 1970s (on ABC Australia). Then RHPS. Was disappointed when I saw Times Square & he'd turned quite middle aged. Sigh. But always a decent actor & singer, even if I only saw a few of his performances after that. RHPS will always have a place in my ❤️.

@@deepseasnailfish Well, I might not have even been 21 at the time. And whereas he might have been doing these roles over, say, 10 years, I may have seen them over the space of 2 or 3 years without knowing this. I may have also thought in RHPS he looked like he was born in 1956 or thereabouts (when I saw it about 1980), not 1946.

I remember being absolutely fascinated by Tim Curry in Wil Shakespeare (1978 BBC) probably in my last year of high school. Then only catching RHPS in 1980 or 1981, 5-6 years after it came out. Good actor, but he aged out of heartthrob status pretty quickly after that. Saw him in Times Square (1980 movie) and almost didn't recognise him at first especially out of fancy dress and tights.

True story. When I was young I went to RHPS live production in a local theatre. It had many of the original cast, including Tim Curry. At the show I was one of the few who sat right up the front, and when Tim chased his creation, Tim stopped, looked at me, sat on my lap and pretended to kiss me (his hand was over my mouth), AND then winked at me on stage! Was a pretty incredible moment looking back, something to treasure.

And yet I had never felt more seen and welcome for the freakiness inside that I had barely recognized was lying dormant there. I played Riff Raff in an online production & it was just WONDERFUL! RHPS is still INCREDIBLE! 🎉❤🖤 It was WAY AHEAD of it's time and it's why I ❤ it SO MUCH. Tim Curry is ABSOLUTELY one of my idols. Of ALL-TIME. I JUST ❤❤❤❤ him! "Dont Dream it, be it" is one of my life's mantras.

I remember the first time I saw RHPS I was 6 years old and I couldn't sleep, my older brother was watching it on TV so I watched it with him not knowing what it was about, I just loved the music. My mom caught us and started chewing out my brother. He told her to relax I didn't know what was going on, then he gave me a look and said 'well she might know now.' I had to wait until I was of age to watch it again lol. But always will love this version above any others.

First let me wipe the tears from my eyes. At the very end she says ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and they all say TIM CURRY made me cry what a guy. Saw this on my 18th birthday ( now 64yrs old) had to go back the next weekend too convince myself I had seen what I saw, and I WAS HOOKED. Best scene in the entire movie for me is when Frankenfurter comes down in the elevator until he goes back up. Fan me off, give me a cigarette and I'm good, don't even need to see the rest of the movie, but of course I do.BIG BIG BIG FAN FOR LIFE!!!!

Omg it would've been freaking epic af to be there when Richard O'Brien introduced Tim Curry and he walked up talking about how he is the only one there that doesn't look like him.
It breaks my heart every time I see Tim now he was my first childhood crush when he played Rooster in Annie, that was my favorite movie as a kid in the 80s and he is still one of my all time favorite actors being in my all time favorite movie Rocky Horror Picture Show, I saw it in the early 90s when I started high school and have been a die hard fan since the very first viewing. What I wouldn't give to be able to meet any or as many of the stars of this movie, I'd die a happy person.

Awesome, thank you for reminding me of something that had such a profound effect on my life, that I actually referenced it in my Senior eulogy quote for the yearbook! We only had like, 75 or 100 characters to sum up -in total, our high school years. So we abbreviated everything, didn't use spaces or punctuation etc.,&it was tough to squeeze in everything that meant something to us. So for me to include RHPS, you know it had to be important to me! Part of my senior memory/eulogy read: RHPS Pas! (A friend from school who introduced me to RHPS).. I used to have the whole soundtrack on cassette & I still love the music from it.. & I'm 56!

I'm a bass player. I've playerd bass in the pit orchestra in a few local theater groups' productions. I never really liked the music all that much (and I've done Fiddler on the Roof to Cabaret, to Chicago, etc.), but I always loved the RHPS soundtrack. Finally, a few years back, One of the theater groups decided to do RHPS and asked if I was interested. We had a pretty good band, and I got to play the entire sold out run, and to this day, it has been one of the highlights of my "career".

You have to picture this... I was all of 18 years old, it was 1980 (October 3st, Friday night!! Halloween! ) and I was newly enlisted into the US Air Force. I was very fortunate as I was in the crypto-linguist field (which meant you had to study a language and in our case - Russian... remember the Cold War?). Well, our tech school was the Defense Language Institute of Monterey, CA. It was incredible since so many of us were all 'cut from the same cloth". Fairly intelligent (not genius level, but damn near it), quirky senses of humor, and very eclectic. You would see someone with Greek Philosophy books in their hands or musings from Carlos Castenada or medieval English poems or literature. Those types. Anyway, one of my good friends says "Have you ever seen Rocky Horror?" And of course I said "No" and he goes "There's a midnight show down on Cannery Row, let's go!" This place was called the "Pillow Theater" and it had, swear to god, pillows to just lay on instead of seats (although there were two small rows way in the back of regular style theater seats). So off we go and we sat near the front (my preference) and off I went on a journey that still reverberates in my brain almost 44 years later! Also, I was gay and that was not allowed in the military back then, so it felt like "forbidden fruit"! It was a bit of a slow start, but when Frank n Furter makes his entrance, I was freaking BLOWN AWAY! Just fell in love with this movie! He and I still say it is perhaps the best movie entrance of all time!! And now, the guy who took me to it is coming out to visit me after not seeing each other for over 30 years! And I have a remodeled $20K man cave/ theater room just for ROCKY HORROR! (Well, not really, but you know... It was primarily built for Lord of the RIngs...). Anyway, that's my story!! 62 years old and still Time Warping....
