      I remember crushing out on Tim when he was in a BBC production about Shakespeare in the 1970s (on ABC Australia). Then RHPS. Was disappointed when I saw Times Square & he'd turned quite middle aged. Sigh. But always a decent actor & singer, even if I only saw a few of his performances after that. RHPS will always have a place in my ❤️.

      I remember being absolutely fascinated by Tim Curry in Wil Shakespeare (1978 BBC) probably in my last year of high school. Then only catching RHPS in 1980 or 1981, 5-6 years after it came out. Good actor, but he aged out of heartthrob status pretty quickly after that. Saw him in Times Square (1980 movie) and almost didn't recognise him at first especially out of fancy dress and tights.

    True story. When I was young I went to RHPS live production in a local theatre. It had many of the original cast, including Tim Curry. At the show I was one of the few who sat right up the front, and when Tim chased his creation, Tim stopped, looked at me, sat on my lap and pretended to kiss me (his hand was over my mouth), AND then winked at me on stage! Was a pretty incredible moment looking back, something to treasure.

    The impact this show has had is almost immeasurable... I remember watching it for the very first time in 2008 as a bright eyed and bushy tailed 16 year old, a typical "good little Christian girl", knowing I "shouldn't" be absolutely drinking it up like I was. And yet I had never felt more seen and welcome for the freakiness inside that I had barely recognized was lying dormant there. Finally 15 long years later, after battling heaps of denial and indoctrination, thanks to hard-won self-discovery and self-actualization, I can proudly say that I am kinky as an old garden hose and queer as a $3 bill and couldn't be happier!! Omg it would've been freaking epic af to be there when Richard O'Brien introduced Tim Curry and he walked up talking about how he is the only one there that doesn't look like him.
    It breaks my heart every time I see Tim now he was my first childhood crush when he played Rooster in Annie, that was my favorite movie as a kid in the 80s and he is still one of my all time favorite actors being in my all time favorite movie Rocky Horror Picture Show, I saw it in the early 90s when I started high school and have been a die hard fan since the very first viewing. What I wouldn't give to be able to meet any or as many of the stars of this movie, I'd die a happy person.
    DON'T DREAM IT... BE IT

    I remember the first time I saw RHPS I was 6 years old and I couldn't sleep, my older brother was watching it on TV so I watched it with him not knowing what it was about, I just loved the music. My mom caught us and started chewing out my brother. He told her to relax I didn't know what was going on, then he gave me a look and said 'well she might know now.' I had to wait until I was of age to watch it again lol. But always will love this version above any others.

    My most watched and participated in movie ever @ over 350+ shows back in the 80s. I have been a long time fan of Tim Curry's musical career and acting career. Even to this day, if I hear his music, I have to sing along with him. As for the whole cast, I love them.

    My friends and I met Tim Curry back in 1988 when he was touring in "Me & My Girl". 😊 He couldn't have been lovelier.
    10 years later My husband and I had just moved into a condo in L.A and were exploring the neighborhood. We walked into a local bookstore and, lo and behold, there was Tim Curry doing a reading of "A Wrinkle in Time". ❤️

    not gonna act like it’s not hard seeing tim like that at the end, but he will forever be a legend, not only for this movie, but *especially* for this movie. i hope he knows how many queer lives he’s helped empower to not just dream it, but to be it.

      Not just Queer or any other of the chosen labels of the "Community". He changed perspectives on freakyness in general. That will always be a special empowerment for Me, You and so many others that felt like the oddball for whatever imagined or deliberate reason. Long live the Freaks.

    I'm a bass player. I've playerd bass in the pit orchestra in a few local theater groups' productions. I never really liked the music all that much (and I've done Fiddler on the Roof to Cabaret, to Chicago, etc.), but I always loved the RHPS soundtrack. Finally, a few years back, One of the theater groups decided to do RHPS and asked if I was interested. We had a pretty good band, and I got to play the entire sold out run, and to this day, it has been one of the highlights of my "career".

    • @odonovan
      @odonovan Рік тому +1

      skeeter197140, a slight correction, if I may. If the theater group was doing it, they were doing RHS (Rocky Horror Show), the stageplay. RHPS was only the movie.
