Ive been welding back gutters for years and this is the most complicated way I've ever seen.
I Seen your video on instagram a couple of years ago making a back gutter, I’ve never vertical welded one up since, makes it so much quicker🤘👍

Mate this video is just what I needed, I have this problem everytime.
I have no idea how I found this channel but it is very interesting
I used the triangle of truth last week absolute game changer, thanks so much !
That’s just helped me with something that has always been a pain I was making one up last night and that little triangle on the upstand is always been a pain trying to position it to weld it in that makes it so much easier
I have learned so much from your channel for which I am eternally greatful.
I was just wondering if you had any input on how to do cover flashing at corners of chimneys when you do a new full wrap round chimney when lead welding back and front aprons.
If you have a video I would greatly appreciate your assistance
Wishing you and yours all the very best
Great video thankyou
Used this technique today and I must say it works an absolute dream

Love it
Never thought to do the wrap around first, thanks!
Mate, you're confusing layboard with the gutter sole, the layboard lays on the rafter
Fantastic video thankyou so much
My pleasure 😊
Hi great videos very informative it’s nice to see people sharing their skills and helping others. I myself am just starting out I’ve worked with an old school lead roofer who bossed everything and now retired. So I’m looking at picking up the torch so to speak any advice on set ups would be greatly appreciated I’m thinking propylene as it’s easier for me to get
Do it. No bottle rentals 😉
Super👍👍👏💪
👍👍
I want to learn leadwork to take my roofing to the next level above the rest, i know the basics and I'm fair decent but leadwork is a whole art of its own.
I watch your videos and try to learn from these but is there anything i can search or books that you could recommend so i can practice at home and on the job.
Like always very helpful and informative video👍. What size lead do you use for back gutter? (ie width)
Various widths depending on the chimney
When you do cover flashings let’s just say on a chimney…so when I cut step flashings the step that bends around from the side of the chimney to the front always goes around and follows the chase into the wall. But when I do cover flashing that isn’t stepped so maybe on an old stone chimney I fold the lead around the corner and always goes at a 45is degree angle. Don’t know how to make it fold into a chase? Does this make sense lol. What’s your advice.
You would need wider lead to achieve that corner. I use 240mm basically cut down to 150mm apart from the corner. If that makes sense. Or You could weld a bit on.
Is the lead development book still available for new students?
Explains all this and more.
What pounds lead is that? Thx code?
