Taufik already top player in 1998/1997, Lindan is much slower to develop than Taufik even though they are only 2 years apart in age. You could say that Taufik Hidayat is a miracle kid for single men because at the age of 18/19 he is already number 1 in the world.

Lol, stop exaggerating, in 1997 Taufik is still young player compete in Junior Competition, in 1998 Taufik only win his first and only title that year, Brunei Open which is low level competition. How he is among the top players in 1997/1998 with that achievement. Yeah he is no.1 in 2000 at the age 19 for 11 weeks only, and then never reach no.1 again. If you compare Lin dan and Taufik amount of title when they're 25 years old respectively, you will realize Lin dan is far above Taufik
