At their best, both Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei produced one of if not the highest quality of badminton I've ever witnessed. At their best, both were evenly matched and as any other competition, it requires a winner. In my humble opinion as a badminton enthusiast, I would say badminton won that day. But that would be disrespectful to the players themselves. As it be, Lin Dan won against Lee Chong Wei in a nail-biting 3 sets, with the last being the most thrilling of all. Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei, legends of the game, on and off the court. There will be no rivalry as such and never will be in the sport of Badminton.
Faced against match point twice, Lin Dan played two perfect shots. First one being a cross court drop against LCW smash and second being the tightest spinning net shot he could’ve played. This two shots defined Lin Dan, the most mentally unfazed player the game has ever seen.
LD always seems extra motivated and concerntrated when its LCW in the opposite side ...... I do believe he really hates to lose to LCW, he knows LCW is the only person who can damage his legacy thats why he plays at 120% during their matches ....
Despite I love to see Lin Dan playing and winning, I always hated when he beat CW. He would loose to anyone but against LCW he's getting his best. LCW made LD a better man.
True legendary players in badminton. So long many years.. I still remember the awakening match for LCW in Malaysia Open 2006 Final, LCW vs LD. EPIC. Eventhough LCW didn't win as many as LD but both are true rivals. What makes LCW more legendary is his character. So humble, calm, kind and forgiving. He is someone who can be a true honest forever friend. He is someone who can transform people around to be a better person.
Two of the best badminton players on the face of the earth ever produced by two different nations(Malaysia and China). Good players may come again but in my heart, they will be always the two best players in the world of badminton. I miss them both. ❤
