What an amazing voice...I actually think he would have been even more famous if he wasn't part of Bon Jovi...his voice is so much more powerful, clear and pleasant than Jon's. But then, maybe Bon Jovi would have been a flop...it certainly was a great band up to mid 2000s. Or what if Richie were the lead singer of Bon Jovi? That would have been a total success

I agree with your viewpoint! If I can read anything into Richie’s recent comments about Bon Jovi (the early days), he WANTED to sing lead on some songs - like the Eagles. If perhaps Jon had not been the “benevolent dictator”, we would still have Richie in the band. It took me forever to even recognize him by his name! But when I did, he was all I talked about when it came to Bon Jovi. They were all great, but Richie was special. His voice got me hook, line and sinker and I have never recovered from his (good) Bad Medicine!

This, really shows what made Bon Jovi and what's been missing since. Sadly Jon who can't sing whatsoever anymore is out touring all the music Richie wrote and Richie gets really no recognition.
Sadly Jon's voice deteriorated a long time ago but wasn't as noticeable till' Richie left
