I rarely comment on videos but this definitely deserves it! Excellent review of this very informative. Sending you my appreciation 🤗 I even saved this video so when my X3 unit arrives I'll use this as my tutorial
Watching this video at 02:01 am on April 9th 2024, cuz yesterday I bought a insta 360 x3. Your videos is very informative and I really appreciate that🙂
Thank you thank you, for helping this 80 year old man work his new camera the way it should be. I appreciate all your hard work and time in producing these videos. Keep up the good work
@@c0nsumption It’s a little difficult to memorize all the settings, which many I don’t use. I just play all my videos and photos in virtual reality, and hundreds of people from all over the world see my work. To see the videos on a huge giant IMAX theater type screen is awesome. Come join me in Altspace and another program called big screen. They call me Mr. Pete
Ben!! Just got my X3 in the mail 3 days ago! Already filmed my first car mount video and it turned out awesome!! Excited to watch this video today. I really appreciate what you do for the community :)
Great video!! One thing I would add is to be carefully with complex environments in low lights. If you're walking in a woods late afternoon, auto settings will put shutter speed at minimum and this will create very bad blurry effects on the wood leafs etc. For low light conditions it's 100% better to record your video in manual mode if you want to avoid annoying effects.
Been viewing your informative tutorials since my previous Insta360, and I just upgraded to the X3. I find your videos so helpful that I often go back and re-watch certain sections whenever I feel I need to refresh my memory or whenever I wind up in a situation that I hadn't planned on, but I know you covered in the video. So thanks for all of your tips and tricks regarding the camera, the accessories, and even the desktop app info. Everything you do is always appreciated.
THANK YOU!! Seriously, very helpful! I just got my X3 (early bday/Xmas gift) & was confused by the terminology: Pureshot vs INSP (+raw) & then the color profiles. I typically color grade my videos, but when looking at the preview of the "log" footage, I didn't think that was the best one...your video confirmed that! So I'll just use their "vivid" profile (even if it's counterintuitive for me 😅).
I’m a total newbie and this video was a huge help. My camera comes tomorrow and I can’t wait. Thanks for the great walk through of this incredible camera.
A great canter through the settings! Auto sleep - not only works when camera is inactive, but also shuts off screen when recording, if you want to be more inconspicuous in a crowd. Bluetooth wakeup means the BT wireless is working at all times even if the camera is off - can drain the battery.Peter Nicholls
Hi, I'm from Thailand. Thanks for your tutorial. It's very absolutely useful for me ;)

I've been following you since 2018, and you're the best Ben! my third insta360 camera is coming in 20 minutes and your video definitely saves me time to test it and discover. THX a lot !
I want to say thank you for this video that was very help full. Other people out there will make videos and will not explain the different options to taking video because they say it will take too much time. This is why I am watch to learn and find out. This is May of 2023 and I do not know if anyone has posted about this but there is a new option in the settings when scrolling down to get the wind, air pods, volume options. This is a PRE -Recording option 15s or 30s option to choose from. I have not tried this yes so I cannot explain. I was thinking to give my comments about this and how great you are with explaining the camera. Thank you
Great video. I can't seem to change the settings for: 1. QuickCapture: when switching the camera on for instant recording 2. How to edit the quick button profiles?!! Cheers mate
I am so glad I found this video. I did not stabilize the gyro before shooting and my camera kept losing track of the horizon. This video was super helpful😊
This was very helpful as I try to fuddle my way through learning to use this camera. As a non-camera person, it would be really helpful to include how to get to the different menus in the camera. Showing where to find the various options rather than just quickly going through them. I got lost many times and couldn't figure out where you went and how you got there. lol!
Thanks for the great tutorial! Helped me make a customized menu for fast access to my most used features and can’t wait to run around with this crazy camera!
I just purchased an X3 to add to my stable of action cameras. Your tutorial was nothing short of great as it helped me out on a number of different areas that I was unaware of. A BIG thumbs up and a Merry and Safe Christmas. Cheers.
Hi Ben, As always, I count on your videos for the best information since I bought my EVO 3D camera some years ago. I may be slowing down, but I had trouble keeping up with the new Insta360 X3 editing video. Still great. Just a comment.
Thank you so much! This is way more helpful than a traditional user manual. I'm still trying to get the grain out of my single-lens videos, but I'm sure the info in this video will help me with that. Thanks again!
Thank you so much, Ben!!! I really appreciate all your hard work! for me, shooting the videos is the easy part. It's editing. I'd rather use the desktop version as it's easier to see but how do you get the footage off the camera???
Great video as always! I hope they do come out with firmware update soon. I saw the "insta360 tutorials" account comment on a video saying they were going to be updating to 100fps like on the X2. I wonder why they don't do 120fps, it seems like it would line up better with the 30fps when editing 🤷 I also wish they would let you rename the presets 🔥🔥🔥
Please make a comparison between Insta 360s, Gopro & Action 2 as a talking head studio camera. It would be interesting to see more possibilities. Maybe if something like X3 or Insta360 1 inch RS can be a good enough studio camera, or even for 2 person interview podcast, that will make it even more versatile. Thank you!
Nice one right there Ben. Good to know all the info ... One question , I got the Insta360 X2. Haven't used it recently for my channel. Would you recommend I go in for an upgrade thus the X3 or stick with the X2?
Looking forward to get mine soon! I hope they will enable manual name editing on personal presets instead of Customize1,2,3... Suggestion. For the latter, add a * before the personalized name so that we cam identify that it is a created preset. Thanks for the useful video!
Now that you covered the basic settings could you do a video on more specific setting such as what you would set the camera at if you were Mountain biking, skiing etc. for best results?
I’d just use the presets i mentioned in the video. Not much changes really no matter how you use the camera, except in low light which I’ve made a video about.
Hello I have a question. Now I have a theta Z1, and sometimes I like to go on the street and make photos for Google Maps. I would like to know if the X3 would make my photos better as I want that when I zoom in the pictures look sharper. Will the 72 MP help on it? (On the Z1 I always edit the raw file).
Thank you, sir, so very much for this, very good and excellent and comprehensive review and guide, and especially for me as a total beginner to use a 360° camera! Much appreciated for me as a complete new beginner, in using an action camera and of course specially a 360 ° capable camera! Your review is one of the very best I have watched! Wishing all the best and stay richly blessed! Greetings from Sweden! 🙂💯❣👍👍👍
How is the z-axis stabilization on the X3? I'm a very "bouncy" walker, so when I walk around with my DJI Osmo Pocket, the footage always bounces up and down...and I'm too vain to "ninja walk" when filming on location.
@@BenClaremont please do make one you're the know it all of 360s , i hardly see any other videos made by anyone else and take you as the gospel truth 😊🤗
I bought a new X3 and subscribed to your channel. After a successful setup of the App and desktop, I watched this video. I tried swiping down from the top of the screen of the camera to get settings, but instead get "swipe left and right to switch shooting modes". How do I get out of this screen - I see no "back" button?
Hey M. Ben, again a very helpful and detailed video! Not sure if it's a new addition since you made the video, but for the standard photo mode I can select "pure shot", "INSP + raw" and "INSP". What does this mean, and what's the best setting?
Hey Ben, hope this comment finds you in good spirits and good health. I have been following and subscribing to your UA-cam channel for long while now since I believe you're the most authoritative person on insta360 subjects. I am getting ready to walk the Camino Frances. My typical walk would be about 8 hrs to 10 hrs each day, and I would like to film as much as I could during my walks. To do this, I believe I have to do time lapse. Would you please tell me the best settings for longest time lapse filming. I have three (3) batteries and power banks I could use to recharge the batteries or to connect directly (?) to my 360 x3. Your help will be very, very much appreciated. Thank you!
Great information here. Thank you for posting it. I am trying to figure out how to play back on the screen of the camera a loop video I capture. If I use it as a dash cam I am not likely going to be able to share video on scene for an officer to see. Thank you in advance for an answer to this question.
why does my camera tell me "open the app to view media" when I try to watch my 360 videos after I shoot them.? it wont just let me play them on the device.
