On the maxace site they say the Orion has a hardness of 61-62HRC.
Which is Garbo for the price.
@@tacticalcenter8658 That's literally the standard range for heat treating magnacut without cryo. Pushing it to 63 or 64 might be nice for edge retention, but it's not like it's suddenly worthless at 62. If you look into Larrin's steel rankings, 62 HRC is essentially the hardness used when he ranked it as 7/10 toughness, 5/10 edge retention, and 9.5/10 corrosion resistance.

@@tacticalcenter8658 The man is a metallurgist and literally invented magnacut; if he says 62 gets the advertised results and that pushing higher trades some toughness for some extra edge retention, then I'm going to take his word on it sooner than some rando.

Just got the Rick Lala Sentry from Mechforce, it is absolutely the best knife I have ever bought or owned, but the clip over the diamond pattern absolutely shreds jeans. And I’m left to wonder a little bit.
Maxace does some great work. One of my favorite knives is my PMP Big Boy and they OEM it. Magnacut is 61-62 according to the website which is cool, of course 63+ would be amazing but for the price it’s cool.
I had to back it up 10 secs. "Did he just....gas station knife fighting grips....yes he did!" 😂😂😂😂
Will any aftermarket clips work for the miguron knives? Kershaw uses the 2 screw clips that are similar. A standard spring style clip would at least give the pocket some relief

That’s actually the correct original (ancient) pronunciation. “Oraion” for Orion is americanized.

For my own sanity I choose to believe that there are not-so-obvious competing design implications when designing clips because the alternative is that multiple designers seem to continuously un-brain themselves the moment they consider how to make their clips lol

Plz help my friend! I just received my Natrix XL (Blue and black) and my P135 (Full steel with the lock) there very nice but i hv an issue!! My Natrix XL the top flipper is so hard to flip and open even after oil applied!! Is there something i can do to have it less tight??? after 5 - 10 opening my index hurts!!! Thank for your help i am equiped to desamble knives! Hope to win later man i cross my fingers!!! Frank from the North!

So Miguron nails a beautiful plunge on the premium model with the aluminum/cf inlay then creates the doomed “Pocket Shredder Affect” causing buyer beware vibes. If they said this is for gentlemen carry 😳 they must have never carried this knife for any period of time….This thing would shred your dress slacks within no time and would also slowly shred most types of jeans. Flip the dam lock-bar cut-out to the inside please. I can’t imagine it being that difficult to do. It’s Sad that they make a great looking & functioning knife yet ruin it with the combination of the dreadful cheese grater lock bar cut-out design then decides to have the clips main pressure point land directly onto it which in-turn creates: TDPSA or “The Dreaded Pocket Shredder Affect”! ☹️
I bought a Moyarl recently, and then pretty promptly returned it because that pocket clip is 100% unacceptable. And it’s not any better in dress pants. I’ve been noticing some arrogance from a couple knife companies lately (I won’t say who), but this is one and another rhymes with miser, and I’m done with it. There are plenty of great knives to choose from without playing games or accepting compromises.
Maxace with a great looking knife that's such a letdown when you hear what the HRC is on the Magnacut steel. If you can't do a decent heat treat on a steel why bother using it, choose another steel that can perform at those HRC levels instead of wasting money on premium materials with horrible performance. The Miguron ones look great and for the price of $30 D2 is a great steel. On The premium version if one thing in a knife is done very wrong, the clip in this case, it can spoil the whole experience of owning that knife and wanting to carry it, and even if carrying in slacks there is a good chance it will tear them up as well by the looks of it with those sharp edges. The pivot on the Vanguard reminds me of a D-pad from a gaming controller very cool little aesthetic and seems to be very well built. D2 is not a great steel at all. But 30 is a good price for d2.
@@tacticalcenter8658 Nothing wrong with D2 steel at all, just like any other steel, as long as it has a decent heat treat and is priced accordingly. The performance you get is great fot the money. Id say that for this price D2 is a better option than say 8cr or even lower quality which is often seen at this price point. Can it compete with say S90V or K390 not a chance, but it's not priced as such either.

60 HRC on the max Ace Orion with magna cut?!!! Whaaat? That's insane. Go to the trouble of getting a good steel, and then not heat treated enough to make it what it should be.. what a waste. I think most people would have been willing to pay more for a better heat treatment.
Maxace is Garbo with all ht. Never worth the cost they go for. This one is 61-62. Which means you'll likely get 61, and even 62 is Garbo for the price they go for.

Not supporting miguron anymore they've stopped reversible clips even on budget models now. Was so upset over premium moyarl not being reversible.
Maxace Orion is pretty well a clone of the WE Magnetron.

They discussed the hardness of the Maxace Orion on their instagram. It’s 61-62.
Which is too low for the price. And its a pocket knife, not a fixed blade.
