      I hope you weren't taking the piss out of Jelly Roll, he's a big metal head, he's had a hard life. Ex convict turned his life around for his daughter, singing in that style isn't his main genre. Metal isn't about exclusion.

    Sorry but I think given Nicko's professionalism, with his age and lingering affects from the stroke causing Nicko to change his drumming, he probably wasn't happy to be unable to perform at the high level he expects from himself, so he decided to step down. I remember reading an interview with Nicko from several years ago, pre stroke, where he said that when the day came that he couldn't hold up his end in the band, he would willingly step aside. I think Nicko stepping down has been in the works for quite some time, and possibly been discussed as far back to when Nicko suffered the stroke.

    I saw Priest earlier this year and they were great! I went in with lower expectations due to their age, but I was dead wrong! The new album is awesome and singing along to "Sinner" live was a damn good memory. My 23 son took me and we had a blast!

    Just think about it, we're in 1980, some bands are on the verge to get big : AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Scorpions and many more...
    At that time, could they imagine they'd still be performing that fast and furious music, firstly past their 40's (I'm 47, when I was a kid in the 80's, people were considered old at 50, and musicians were considered kinda old story past 10 years of activity and 40 years old), and secondly, past 40 years of career ?
    They all started doing music in a time when the oldest Rock acts were at most 15 years old, basically, by 1980, the oldest active bands were bands such as the Rolling Stones and The Who...
    This wasn't a question in my mind back then, but I think I wouldn't have believed if someone told me when I was 10 years old that I'd still be listening new material from those bands almost four decades later...

    As much as Nicko deserves his retirement, it doesn’t make it any easier as a diehard Maiden fan. As much as I’m excited that this opens the door for unlimited possibilities as far as the live setlist goes, I would still prefer Nicko playing in his limited capacity rather than no Nicko at all. That might be a hot take, but that is why Nicko is so much more than just a drummer to this band. I am hopeful and more confident now that this will result in buying the band many more years to come as well as a new album. Unless Nicko was really in dire pain, I think he would have agreed to give it one last run if it was agreed upon that this 50th anniversary tour was truly the last for everyone involved.

    You mean like how Kerry said Slayer was retiring & then they weren't, how Kerry said he'd never name a band after himself, how Kerry said he'd never sell out & then made guest spots on commercial band's albums? I think it's safe to say that Kerry King's word is not reliable.

      @rodneymcdermott5303 That's true even though I can't stand Kerry he said Slayer would never tour again or put out new material. They did say they would play occasional festivals , there's nothing wrong with that IMO. What I can't stand are bands like Motley Crue lying to fans and now touring for the money even though they sound like shit now , especially with John 5's tinney sounding Tele. The songs don't even sound the same anymore without Mick...

    Mate, I love your channel, love the content but the continuous clickbait-y titles are a real turn off. "Iron Maiden tragedy"? Maybe I am just an old git and you need to do that to grow the channel but now whenever I see those titles I end up ignoring the vid instead.

    • @MetalPilgrim
      @MetalPilgrim  3 дні тому +3

      @seaofmadness thanks a lot for your honest comment... first of all, changed the title as per your suggestion. Secondly, in all honesty, this is one of the most annoying features of modern content creation, as you should constantly balance those titles on a verge of curiosity/bait... and it is so hard and frustrating... but the problem is that without it videos simple do not even get shown to your audience, because they get "outbid" by other videos in the system...

  • @cafe.cedarbeard

    Metal was born with Neptune in Sagittarius, mutable fire. Live Aid happened just about the minute it entered Capricorn, the scene of music always shifts with the sign changes of that planet. Pisces has been the last decade plus, and what do you know but mime threatens live performance in all the upper level shows, and robot dictatorship keeps drummers from having a living breathing feel of the pulse. Neptune and Saturn and Venus and Mercury are all going to enter Aries in the coming year in the spring and summer, then back into the yin signs in the fall, then to stay through into the yang signs in 26. I see this as the elders of the Craft coming to the fore to light the next wave of real music and send it forth into the world. My deepest love is prog like Yes, but that kind of music has more respect when metal is not held in the dark with vapid puppets dumbing down the mainstream.

    Judas Priest madness... but they can´t do a stadium tour even in South America, a pitty they have to come in festivals with 6 more bands, in endless festivals. The good thing of course is that they are coming, but that Judas fever all over the social media doesn´t reflect in ticket selling, at least they should do one stadium in Chile and Argentina, but they do one Arena and one festival where we have 6 bands before

      They could do it like iron maiden, get all the guitarists on stage, and maybe even Glenn, when he got a day when he can perform a song or two. But I doubt that at this stage he will be able to play live anymore... Though giving birth present guitarists their slave and add KK would definitely work and make the fans happy. I doubt they'll let Tim on stage to perform a few of his songs or sing some songs with Rob... But I feel they'd owe it to their fans and their own legacy. I mean, I doubt they'll be able to perform much more than another year with Rob, so maybe they should embrace all their records, not just those with Rob.

    This dudes take on Nicko is dumb. Why would you even try to say Dianno is why Nicko is stepping down? Nicko decided this before Paul died also Nicko probably couldn't if played some of the songs they will play on the 50th, they simplified the previous set and he still struggled in spots. Unfortunate truth
