"Shche ne Vmerla Ukrainy i slava, i volia" (Ukrainian: Ще не вмерла України і слава, і воля, lit. 'Glory and Freedom of Ukraine has not yet Perished'), also known by its official title of "State Anthem of Ukraine" (Державний Гімн України, Derzhavnyi Himn Ukrainy) or by its shortened form "Shche ne vmerla Ukrainy" (Ще не вмерла України), is the national anthem of Ukraine. Its music was officially adopted by Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada on 15 January 1992. The official lyrics were adopted on 6 March 2003 by the Law on the Anthem of Ukraine (Закон про Гімн України).
The lyrics constitute a slightly modified original first stanza of the patriotic poem written in 1862 by Pavlo Chubynsky, a prominent ethnographer from the region of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. In 1863, Mykhailo Verbytsky (1815-1870), a western Ukrainian composer and Greek-Catholic priest, composed music to accompany Chubynsky's text. The first choral performance of the piece was at the Ukraine Theatre in Lviv, in 1864.
    Poetic English translation:
Nay, thou art not dead, Ukraine, see, thy glory's born again,
And the skies, O brethren, upon us smile once more!
As in Springtime melts the snow, so shall melt away the foe,
And we shall be masters in our own home.
𝄆 Soul and body, yea, our all, offer we at freedom's call
We, whose forebears, and ourselves, proud Cossacks are! 𝄇

I am so moved by the beauty and majesty of this anthem. Thank you. Another elderly American here who has traveled solo and extensively throughout central and eastern Europe, and had been on my way to Lviv, then Kyiv when Covid descended. I'd met many Ukranians in travels whose friendliness and warmth, and descriptions of homeland inspired the visit that never was. My heart goes out to Ukrainians during this terrible time, may god strengthen and bless them all. The love of freedom that informs their fierce resistance against the tyranny of Putin is a beacon to the world.

Beautiful rendition; I love organ music! As an elderly American who has studied well the costs and benefits of liberty and freedom, I wholeheartedly support the nation of Ukraine and all of her citizens! I also feel very sorry for Russians who are conscripted and forced to be aggressors against their personal wishes. Mr. putin is to be repudiated, as well as his supporters, especially the henchmen who seem bloodthirsty. We can never have peace until these kinds of people are stripped of their power and rank, and until people are brave and courageous like the Ukrainians, and refuse to obey evil tyrants, even at the cost of their lives. God help us all.
