Win, lose, or draw. Its always great to see folks build their own stuff. You learn a lot in the process and there is always the 'next' model. Good for you!
I'd bet that all of the negative comments are from dudes with $10,000+ machines that are worried about securing their income. I think this guy deserves a lot of credit for building his own sh!t and doing it himself, and saying FU to you jerkoffs that want to charge the equivalent of $100+/HR for non-skilled labor. Make the safety refinements, and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DUDE!!!
Great job. I,d like to build one for myself. Did you buy the wheel or make it ? And thank God for all the safety experts out there. Give the guy a damn break . Atleast he is trying to do something constructive.
I'm sure you have improved it or chucked it by now but; the cutter wheel should be on the front not underneath (cutting along the grain is much faster) you could also go up to fences etc and go deeper. A guard would make it safer but good on you for giving it a go.
Good work. Does the job.. May not be perfect? but having a go great. As someone whos made gadgets this would be mk 1 model. Can add on.. Most computer desk mugs never make 1 invention. From Tasmania here.
As Stephan said,..Great job,.....now do yourself a favour, install a heavy rubber flap behind the cutter head to stop or slow down the chips from hitting your feet. What is the cutter head's operating RPM ?
Is it a rite of passage to remove a tree stump with the most inefficient steps possible? In the time it took to assemble that thing, I could've removed every stump in the yard with a shovel and axe.

fine job
I would have liked to see the blade up close. Nice job.
that's crazy building your own stump grinder!
It got the job done, that's what counts.

Sketchy ..... I love it.

I love your design Michael, the machine looks really great. But you should have phoned me instead lol :)

Great creation bud, keep up the good work !
That's a brilliant Idea. Thank you!
A plexiglass shield would be a good idea. I'd like to see how the machine was made.
Just when I thought id seen it all health and safety springs to mind

Neat! What did you use for the cutter head?
My dad bolted actual cutter blades to the wheel. Thanks.
Don't pay any attention to the yank-off comments. Who makes the cutter head that you used....where can I find one?
He made it himself.
is it throwing the chips forward or backward i couldnt tell
good job dude, I wish I was your neighbor...ha ha
is that made for a one arm man?
i thought this was a stupid comment until i seen the machine handle now i cant stop laughing (1:57) it worked so i guess its a cool machine
Sandpaper might be quicker
haha I was thinking the same thing
i literally thought the same thing
At least you tried!
Is it a rite of passage to remove a tree stump with the most inefficient steps possible?
In the time it took to assemble that thing, I could've removed every stump in the yard with a shovel and axe.
not bad. I would put a clutch on it and reverse the engine so it discharges away from you, but again, not bad at all
This guy's nuts.
This guy's nuts what?
now lets try to watch some videos on HOW TO USE IT.
great job
Fuck this is dangerous man.there was nothing holding that grinder apart from some welds that will one day snap and fly back into the user.
Super stvar
Dont think ive ever seen anything quite like that b4...
good effort
Nice!
Cool machine..but ill just rent one
its wood.. why don't you just use some 80 grit sandpaper??
dam i wanted to see more action. good job though
stump grinder?
that's what my girl is for...
stump grinder always sounded like a stripper that exclusively gives lap dances to amputees. at least it did to me.
lmfao
Would of been faster if you threw a few termites on it.
needs a big flywheel
You need a leveling system where you can lower it incrementally and move it side to side. Or just buy a decent one.
I DON'T KNOW ?!?
un fosforo y candela y se desaparece
Cheaper to rent a real grinder.
this is good joke :-D
🤔
1 stump per week per haps
I think you would be way better off to buy a good one
😂
Pure jeer
No need to watch the first minute and a half.
Mmmmm.........
I ki
lol
sorry to say but this is lame-o as a stump grinder but would make a good Robot-Wars robot
is not so practical
