I was at Zion the same day and had an amazing experience. I had watched many of your videos in preparation for my cross country trip. I went to Bryce Canyon overview for sunset and swore I saw you there but didn't wanna disturb you. I did want to say thank you in person tho for your awesome videos. You helped me prepare for a life changing trip. Zion, Arches, Joshua Tree and a bunch more spots. Your videos really helped. Thanks, phil.

@@philmcnamara6241 That was really neat to read, Phil! Thanks so much for the comment! We went to Bryce on this trip just so I could show my wife a brief look at the canyon. We stopped at 2 of the amphitheaters and then went off to hike at nearby Dixie NF. You should have introduced yourself! Glad to hear you had a great trip!
The best channel for making me motivated for visiting national parks. Last year, i visited 15 of them and many of them were influenced by this channel.
What a convenient time for posting this video!!! I am in Utah right now camping right by Zion and I am hiking the Narrows in the morning!!! I am so excited!!!
My friend thanks for posting! I always enjoyed all your post. I remember my last hiked at the narrows was 1996 when I used to lived in St. George, UT. Was a great experienced. God Bless You and Your Family.
Ah, the Narrows. The hike that made me fall in love with hiking. We rented the waterproof shoes, socks, & poles from an outfitter near our hotel. Stay safe! Be well!
No problem and that's what so special about the Parks. Nice diversity for a variety of tastes. Personally, with the Park shuttles not running, I thought there would be far less folks on the trail. Have a great week!
Loved it. You showed a perspective of the Narrows and your hike that I have never seen before, and it was fantastic. Have a great week and hope the feet have warmed back up.
This was absolutely gorgeous. I have been blessed to do some traveling in my lifetime and have seen some spectacular sites. Some family members have been through Utah, and I believe Zion Natl Park, as well. This is definitely a bucket list trip! Absolutely stunning! I'm obsessed with America's National Parks! Thank you so much for showing us the beauty of our country in your videos. I'm so glad you all get to witness and experience such amazing scenery and adventures!
Hi! This is the first time I've commented on one of your videos. I watch a different one every day while I'm eating lunch. I just went out to Utah for the second time three weeks ago. We woke up at 4:30 and didn't quite make it to the Sinawava parking lot and had to walk an extra mile both ways. It was worth it though. Having been to Zion before, I thought it wouldn't seem quite as amazing as it did the first time. Boy was I wrong, this hike is truly spectacular and showcases God's marvelous creation. Watching your videos has been an inspiration for me.
Hey Nathan, loved reading the comment, brother! Happy to hear you made it out to the narrows. Hottest ticket in town! An extra mile both ways isn't too bad. Heard folks are now walking the entire scenic trail! God bless you and grateful to know how much you are enjoying the videos!
Let me start by saying your videos are inspiring and informative. I live in PA. My family and I did Kinzua Bridge state park in June and just returned from Zion National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. Both are absolutely stunning!! No words can describe how majestic and beautiful Zion and the Grand Canyon are. I also enjoyed the Schuylkill River trail video. I grew up in Schuylkill County, PA and always take family to the pioneer coal tunnel when they visit from out west. Again Thanks for making the videos and God Bless. Hopefully I will see you on a trail someday!!
Really appreciate your kind and encouraging words, John! Happy to hear you and your family are making great memories. We are from NJ and really enjoy our time in beautiful PA. God bless!
Those views are spectacular! Thank you for this amazing video. Yet again, your video has persuaded me to add yet another spot onto my list of must-visit parks!
Great editing! I love the views; I'm not quite brave enough for Angel's Landing, but the Narrows look like the perfect hike. I even have one of my sons convinced. Hoping to make a trip to Utah eventually and cross it off my list. Happy travels!
Thank you for the post. Brought back great memories from a couple years back. Do recommend renting water shoes and a walking shoes worked crazy well in the water. Glad you made it in having to travel that early but so worth it.
Hey Randy and Julie....nice to see you guys out and about again....ZION Narrows is awesome walking in the River...We did it 2 years ago with six Families and 19 little ones!!!We didn't go as far as you two did, so enjoyed your video...Looks like a lot more people than 80 cars can unload!!!!Was a real pain waiting for the shuttle for 1.5 hours plus at each stop, so you were lucky it wasn't running...We were supposed to go to Glacier N.P and Yellowstone during July with a lot of people, but all was cancelled!!!May be next year!!!All to best to you and Wifey.....Hank and Pam from South Texas!!!!
Hi Hank and Pam! Hope you guys are doing well and sorry to hear about your trip cancellation. I'm sure you have many great memories from that trip from 2 years ago - 6 families with 19 kids, wow! Yes, I was expecting fewer people, but many came in on private shuttles. Take care!
Another great video Randy, my wife and I made a visit to Zion in November of 2018 and did Angles Landing and the Narrows. I was truly a great time and the Narrows was my favorite. Walking in the water and seeing the canyon wall was truly amazing. We are planning another trip their this fall with a couple days at Bryce as we missed it on our last visit. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks, Stan! We skipped Bryce this trip, but did hit "Red Rocks" in Dixie NF (right next door to Bryce). Maybe a tad less impressive, but virtually no people. Shot some nice video I'll get up one of these days.
Another great video Randy. This is a hike I have wanted to do for a long time. Such splendor and majesty. Glad you could make it. We love the slot canyons of the southwest. Blessings 🙏
Did this last summer (2019). Bottom up. Definitely recommend for all bucket lists! I've rafted the Colorado through the Grand Canyon with three buddies in our own, private raft, hiked and climbed in a bunch of mountain ranges, been to all our national parks, except in Alaska, Canadian Rockies, seen volcanoes erupting, Italy's Amalfi coast, Napali, Northern Lights, tornadoes, 65- foot high surf at Waimea...a lot of amazing sights. (Lucky me!) This is near, if not AT, the top. Didn't do the entire 16 miles. Can't. Had to turn around at Big Spring, about 3.6 miles in. (Mandatory turn-around for all bottom-uppers, is my understanding.) One thing not shown/demonstrated here is that there are - or were when I was hiking it - places where the river runs swiftly and deep enough (and that can be as little as two to three feet deep) for one to run the river, as in, just get in and let it carry you along for a few yards. (Just keep those shoed-feet downstream, kids! Rafting 101!) Do it again and again, if you like. When I went, a bunch of kids were doing this. And some "overgrown kids," like me. I wore my Keen reef walkers, which worked great! Just be sure they are cinched on nice and snug. The water was delightful. It was the end of July, air temps in the upper 80's, no threat of rain or T-storms. I'd say the river water temp was in the upper 60's, low 70's, especially in some of the shallower sections and in the sun. When I went swimming, it was totally easy to immerse in T-shirt and shorts. No shock to the system. One final observation. I didn't mind the crowds. It was full of people, but wasn't congested. (I was hiking alone. I'm an introvert-extrovert, btw.) I have rarely felt so much joy, wonder, and happiness as I felt in there. It wasn't just because I was giddy from the experience. Everyone was feeling it, and one could sense that communal spirit. The "peace, love and happiness" was real. The kids were in heaven and their parents were reflecting that too. That, as much as the humbling, awe-inspiring wonder of the landscape itself, was my greatest take-away. It was like the Truman Show, with everyone saying "Hello" and smiling. It reminded me of the Louis Armstrong song "What a Wonderful World." Fun vid, well-done. One suggestion, if I may, for the next one: more shots up the canyon walls to the rims (or close, anyway.) Would love to have seen a few more pans up and around. There's also some cool vegetation I didn't expect to see in the canyon. I am definitely going to do this again as soon as possible! 2020 is probably a no-go, but 2021 is on the wishlist radar!
That was great, David! Wonderful to hear of your amazing adventures! You seem to have done more than thousands of people combined. Totally agree with your assessment. That's what I enjoy about these hikes - the communal spirit of encouragement and cooperation. We sure need more of that in this world. Thanks for the kind words and suggestions!
Randy, I am so thankful that you posted this video of the Narrows, because while I could’ve done this hike 10 years ago it’s not something I will be able to do now. As I always say, your videos are so wonderful as you make us feel like we are with you on this hike. Thanks to Julie to for her perspective on what it is like, and I’m not surprised as crowded as that place gets that 4 people recognized you! WONDERFUL VIDEO, THANK YOU, . . . Mike
@@AmericasParks Randy, You are very much on top of how to get in! The only park we have lined up to get in early was at Arches . . . and the only place we went at 03:00 in the morning was when we figured out that was the best way to hike to the ocean entry of lava at Hawaii Volcanoes (after many previous visits with poor results). The wind in the morning typically is from the west, and after sunset, it reverses, making the hike back after dark hazardous. So, we hiked in from the end of Chain of Craters road to see the lava at sunrise (and got some amazing photos, when the lava was still glowing red for the camera). Does that mean I am in you club of early risers? Ha!
Thanks for the video, Randy...and congratulations to Julie! So happy she could take, and enjoy, this epic hike with you. We had to cancel our reservations to Zion this Spring, but will reschedule at another time. So glad to see this video and always look forward to the next one! Take care and stay healthy.
Yep, I will do this! I was there April 2019, after 3 days of thunderstorms, the water was running 20 ft deep then. Angel's landing was open, but several trails closed due to flooding or wash outside. Love seeing the video, so now I know what I missed. Thanks
What a sweet looking hike! Amazing that you had to get there that early to enjoy it, but I am glad that paid off! Looks like you had a stunning day there to enjoy it all!
We take a big trip annually with another family (11 kids total between the two families). We just returned from a 17 day road trip with them to the Four Corners. We spent several days at Zion. Due to logistical reasons, I hiked the Narrows without anyone else from my family, but with my buddy (the dad of the other family) and three of his four kids. I went on for a while after their stopping point, but they stole the show that day by inflating inner tubes that they brought with them and then tubed the Virgin River to get back to the Riverside Walk. That may be a cool wrinkle to try that I haven’t seen anyone else do in person or online.
Wow we missed you by one week! We hiked this on June 22 - it was our first time and we absolutely loved it! Thanks for your videos - we always enjoy them
Ah yes! Another great Utah trip. Glad to see you're still getting out there! I'm still doing the Del Water Gap NRA thing & loving it. Hopefully back to the southwest somewhere this fall. Hope you had a nice 4th of July.
Thanks, Bob! The fall is a wonderful time to visit that area. Happy to be back on the road, but it was an action-packed 9-day trip with my wife. Still recovering! Enjoy the GAP!
Incredibly beautiful view of rock formations! Amazing how many people were hiking the narrows! Neat that you are becoming a famous UA-cam comtributer 🙂👍 Loved the editing with under water shots interspersed ....and the choice of music! 🎶 Stay safe and well 😷✌️

Just stumbled upon your channel in the Recommended section. I love your videos and immediately subscribed! I've never been to the States, but seeing videos like this skyrockets a USA West Coast Roadtrip to the Top 3 of my go-to travel list!
This really helped as we will be headed that way in the next week or so. I knew that we would probably need to get to a parking space early, but I didn't realize it would have to be 2:13 am early. Thank you for the information!
Enjoy your trip, Donald! I understand the Park Shuttles are up and running again. Be sure to make reservations. Not sure if they are permitting cars on the scenic drive. Be sure to look into this before you arrive. There might also be private shuttle options too.
So glad you were able to venture out during this time and with Julie as well :) The Narrows look so amazing. Can't wait to see what other adventures you had on this particular trip and hope the transition back to New Jersey is smooth with the new rules the Governor has implemented. Much love and health to you all
Appreciate that, Jymn! So thankful for the window we had to squeeze in this trip. It was one of those times we really needed the break. Have a super week, my friend!
Randy is dedicated to the Narrows! HAHA! I good hike to get to a good hike! Thanks for sharing it all with us, Randy. These are crazy times and I can't catch every video. But happy to have come across this one. Thanks for creating. Take Care! Kay
Hey Kay! Thanks for the the kind words! So funny... Literally at your channel right now getting ready to watch your Yellowstone video. We just returned and always nice to stir up the memories. Seeing it's tips, etc... probably should have watched it before we went! lol!
Thank you so much for sharing! The water was too high when I went and I wasn't able to venture into the narrows. It's interesting to see what June 2020 visits are like. Duly noted on the incredibly early wake up call! God Bless you and your family : )
Love, love, love the Narrows. Done it three times and am aching to go back. Easily one of my favorite hikes EVER. Looks like you and your wife had a wonderful time. (Where are the kids?!) Thanks for posting.
Hey John, just some time alone on this one. Nice that the girls are old enough to stay by themselves now. Great taste, my friend! This hike is IMHO too is one of the very best! Thanks!
Congrats on your Angels summit. With the Narrows, the two best hikes imho at Zion. Highly recommend you hitting it (if you haven't already). Looking forward to a return visit myself in the near future.
Hello America's Park's! It's to bad that your trip to Rainbow Bridge got cancelled due to covid, but you go wrong with the Narrows, so spectacular! I love the Narrows and Wall Street. Hopefully, you will get another shot to get to Rainbow Bridge. Great video my friend!
For anyone trying to avoid the crowds - I went about 8 months ago during Thanksgiving week. I arrived at the parking lot at 6:45AM and took the FIRST shuttle out at 7:00AM. There was NOBODY!!! on the bus with me. No joke - I still have the photos showing me as the only person riding up to the narrows at 7:00AM :) . Honestly, don't go during peak season.. I did the narrows by myself with the outdoor temperature at 28F and the water was 33F. It's completely safe and warm when you wear the gear you can rent in town there. Hope this helps.. Don't be discouraged by the crazy crowds in this video. I literally was by myself in the narrows for about 3 hours until I finally came across another group, which at this point, I welcomed :)
That must have been a great experience! Unfortunately when COVID hit (after your visit) the park shuttle service completely stopped. Thankfully it's running now (after our visit), but limited seating, reservation only. Like you said - the key is hitting this place in the off season. Thanks for the comment!
Some day I am going to get to do this hike. Was supposed to do it this year, but thanks to Covid our plans were changed for us. Beautiful scenery. Excellent video.
Yeah, I've seen every type of footwear on that trail, from sandals and flip flops to those "waterproof" shoes, but I just wear my socks and hiking boots laced up good and tight. I'm old enough that I'm not going to trust anything else with such uneven and slippery footing. And besides, the boots dry out pretty quickly in the dry sunshine out there.
We rented the shoes and walking sticks from the outfitter near the entrance to the park. Very reasonable prices. You are able to pick them up the night before if you plan a super early start 😁 Definitely a highlight of Zion
Thank you so much for the beautiful videos! Would you say the water level in September is relatively low not considering rain or flash floods? The flooding sounds super scary! How long is the hike? Thank you for answering!
Thank you very much, Diana! Not sure about the monthly water levels - always best to check with the Rangers for a current update. If the levels are too high, they will close the trail for safety purposes. And the good thing about this hike is you can go in as far as you want and then simply turn around.

Having hiked the Narrows more times than I can remember, I recommend a "good" pair of river sandles and keep boots and socks dry in your backpack.
Good advice! I knew we were going short on this one - but any longer and different footwear would have been preferred.
How many hours does the hike goes?

Thanks to Julie to for her perspective on what it is like, and I’m not surprised as crowded as that place gets that 4 people recognized you! WONDERFUL VIDEO, THANK YOU, . . . Mike
What a memorable day during covid - getting in line durning the wee hours of the morning! Love that hike!
Ha!
U’re such a pro on this. Thanks for the well detailed advice fo this trail.
Thank you! Still learning a lot along the way!
This was the best hike my daughter and I have done. It was for her 14th bday. Great memories!!
Wonderful to hear the video helped rekindle some fine memories!
Thanks for the video, Randy...and congratulations to Julie! So happy she could take, and enjoy, this epic hike with you. We had to cancel our reservations to Zion this Spring, but will reschedule at another time. So glad to see this video and always look forward to the next one! Take care and stay healthy.
Thanks so much, James! Sorry to hear about your cancellation. We lost 2 trips too, but added this one last minute.
Yep, I will do this!
I was there April 2019, after 3 days of thunderstorms, the water was running 20 ft deep then. Angel's landing was open, but several trails closed due to flooding or wash outside.
Love seeing the video, so now I know what I missed.
Thanks
Thanks and hope it works out for you, John!
Love the low angle shots and sounds of the river. Just got back from there! Such a special place!
Thanks so much! Neat to hear you've been out there. Such a special place!
Definitely on my bucket list! Hope everyone in the family has been staying healthy and safe!
Thanks, Hunter and the same to you! Really a hike to pursue!
I like the way you put together this video! Information filled story telling!
Thank you very much!
What a wonderful place!! ♥️
Right on! In my opinion, one of the best National Park hikes!
Love the video! Going to Utah Zion in early September. Can’t wait
Thanks and have a great time!
What a sweet looking hike! Amazing that you had to get there that early to enjoy it, but I am glad that paid off! Looks like you had a stunning day there to enjoy it all!
Thanks, Josh! It was a memorable one!
Couldn't come at a better time. Planning a trip for next week. Thank you!
Sweet, Justin! The shuttles are up and running again. Be sure you make reservations. Enjoy!
great video!!! I hiked it top/down last year beautiful place
Awesome! Dying to do that hike!
Wow! What a nice hike huh? I've never been to Utah but I'm glad that I get to join this journey on this National Park with you guys lol.
Hey, Kaleb! Hope all is well with you! Thanks and keep vlogging!
I’ll be here on Sunday! Looking forward to a nice peaceful solo day hike!
Sweet! The scenery was so pure, the activities fun and the water relatively warm. Have a super time!
Oh I love the Narrows! I did the complete overnight hike back in high school. Such a great experience!
Oh Kerri, have that one on the bucket list. Clearly a memorable experience for you!
Loved the comment! Epic trip... and glad you all had an enjoyable time!
Amazing truly in love! Keep up the great work and stay safe 🤟🏽
Thank you, Eric! You too!
Wow we missed you by one week! We hiked this on June 22 - it was our first time and we absolutely loved it! Thanks for your videos - we always enjoy them
Thanks so much, Paul! Would have been nice to meet you!
Joyous; I must admit when I went to Zion ten years ago was spellbound by the views, nothing like it in England!
Nice to hear you have visited Zion! One of America's finest!
I am doing this hike on Thursday, October 7th and I am thrilled to pieces!
Good for you, Mercedes! Hope you have a fantastic time. Of all my NP hikes, this one is in the top 3.
Such beauty, thank you for sharing!! On my Bucket List.
Thanks, Ramiro! Hope it works out for you!
Always enjoy watching your videos!
Thank you very much! Means a lot to me!
Incredibly beautiful view of rock formations! Amazing how many people were hiking the narrows! Neat that you are becoming a famous UA-cam comtributer 🙂👍
Loved the editing with under water shots interspersed ....and the choice of music! 🎶
Stay safe and well 😷✌️
Thanks for sharing your keen observations, Christine!
so much fun!! we went a few years ago, wonderful experience. Thanks for this super sharp video really nice to see it this way thanks for posting
Thanks, Thorn! Glad to hear you guys have experienced this one! So classic!
Man, I can't wait to go there! So much different than what we are used to here. Looks like you guys had an awesome time! Glad to see y'all are doing good! Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate that! One of the best trails in one of the best NP's!
I have never seen so many hikers at the Narrows. Most usually stopped before entering the creek. I missed hiking there. Thanks for making this video.
Crowds have gotten bad. Really thankful for your kind words!
Very nice place and beautiful scenery.
Thanks for sharing my dear friend.
Your video is so great always.
Full view and Big like 781.
I wish you have a happy time...👍👍
Thank you very much! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Yet another icon of west hikes. Zion is all about observation point. 8 miles.
Obviously Angels Landing is numero uno.
How wonderful is it !!
That was a great hike.
HERMOSO LUGAR,GRACIAS POR MOSTRARNOS ESTE LUGAR TAN BELLO
Thanks for watching and the comment!
It's beautifull! We have done this same hike in august 2018 and it was one of the most beautifull hikes we did in the USA.
Thanks for commenting, Evert! Agree!
Maaaaaaaan I can’t wait to go !!!! Fire video 👍
Thanks so much! Hope you have a great experience in the Narrows!
Damn man, look at you go. 23k subs, ive been here for like 4 years and you just keep getting better and more subscribers. Keep it up man. The rate the channel is growing is crazy. Hope to see you sometime.
Appreciate the warm encouragement, Beau! Wonderful to meet so many great folks like you through this crazy adventure - perhaps one day on the trails.
Great video! It's so cool to watch this after walking in the same parts of the narrows that you did!
Thanks so much, Travis! Neat to hear you've been out there and the video brought back some great memories!
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! This place has been on our wish list for quite a while now. One day.....
Cool - hope you can make it out there! :)
My absolute favorite hike, in my favorite National Park!
Good taste, Yvonne!
Just stumbled upon your channel in the Recommended section. I love your videos and immediately subscribed! I've never been to the States, but seeing videos like this skyrockets a USA West Coast Roadtrip to the Top 3 of my go-to travel list!
Nice to hear, Ruud! The Western US (especially S. Utah) is incredible!
Thank You for the video this hike is on my bucket list!
Thanks, Nicole! Highly recommended!
Loved this video thank you. Went to Zion a couple weeks ago to hike the narrows but never got in. We where too late. But this was great to watch.
Sorry to hear you couldn't get in, Lyna! Trust you still had a great time!
This was the video I was looking for👍
Wonderful to hear, Joseph! Thank you!
Seeing it's tips, etc... probably should have watched it before we went! lol!
Love The Narrows!
Good taste!
One of my all-time favorite hikes and adventures in the National Parks.
Good taste, my friend!
Another excellent video! 😊
I think I'm on an America's Parks binge! 😂
Glad to hear!
Thank you so much for sharing! The water was too high when I went and I wasn't able to venture into the narrows. It's interesting to see what June 2020 visits are like. Duly noted on the incredibly early wake up call! God Bless you and your family : )
Thanks and God bless, my friend! Sorry about your experience - that happens often. In my 5 attempts in the Narrows, I was turned away twice.
Looks incredible ☺☺☺
Sure was! One of the best National Park hikes. Thanks for visiting the channel!
Good place to visit. Need to reserve the shuttle ticket to go the scenic drive. Wow you were lucky though thanks for sharing your video
Yes, good reminder for the viewers. We were there the day before they opened the shuttles, hence the early wait in line. Still nice memories.
Thanks!
We just did the Angel Landing last Saturday. The view was spectacular and we might come back for this hike.
Congrats on your Angels summit. With the Narrows, the two best hikes imho at Zion. Highly recommend you hitting it (if you haven't already). Looking forward to a return visit myself in the near future.
That’s so amazing one day I want to visit the Midwest and all of the cool national parks
Cool, Tony! Tough to bet the National Parks in southern Utah!
Thanks, Al! Neat to hear you've been out there!
So worth it, Sue! Sure do hope you'll be able to experience this one!
I hear ya, Rick! Tons of fancy stuff, but the simple gym shoes have worked perfectly for me on all three of my Narrows trips. Thanks for the comment!
Beautiful video!
Thank you very much!
We rented the shoes and walking sticks from the outfitter near the entrance to the park. Very reasonable prices. You are able to pick them up the night before if you plan a super early start 😁 Definitely a highlight of Zion
Thanks, Sheri! Glad to hear you had a nice experience. Appreciate the suggestion!
Great video & great quality! This would be an incredible place to vlog!
Absolutely! Usually I do more or a "vlogging format" too, but on this hike just let the scenery do the talking. lol! Thanks!
