The fact that Wokal can explain woke as clearly as he does at 1:01:04 is literally why he rose to fame.
"The existence of unclear cases does not turn poles into spectrums. The fact that there are some marginal cases does not mean that there are no paradigm cases. The fact that there are unclear cases does not mean that there are no clear cases."

It got it's name, due to the many creatures that feast on its sweet nectar inside. These are a favorite of Spider Monkeys and small forest animals who have opposable thumbs. They are able to bite the ends off and then turn the fruit upwards and draw out the red berry flavored nectar from inside. They simply discard the "straw" that is left behind, so the forest floor is littered with them for the very limited time they are in season.

This might even be considered to be preferable by some as it sets the stage for a broader and deeper societal change further down the line. (Neo)Marxism has been supremely patient so far, what's a couple more decades in the grand scheme of things?

In the end, the main goal of socialists, Marxists, Progressives, or whatever you want to call them, is power. There are people on the Right who also want power, and they typically achieve it using and manipulating the system, generating wealth and moving up the hierarchy. Generally, if a person can take advantage of the existing system, they want to keep it and us it. Those, that do not have the attributes to win in the current system want to destroy it.
It's it a coincidence that all the young Leftists are the ugliest freaks you have ever seen. At (33:55), Wokal is saying something quite similar to what Buddhists call Sunyata: the fact that there is no inherent existence. However, Buddhist philosophers, unlike post modernists, also recognize that the notion of Sunyata itself is void of inherent existence. That's why the School of the middle way (Madyamika) does not reject categories. They adopt them as important 'conventional truths'. That's how Buddhism doesn't fall into nihilism. There is an important lesson to learn in this.

8:15 It's fantastic to hear Lindsay explain the basis of these philosophers so clearly, but it all sounds true. I can't hear what his argument AGAINST it is? And crucially, I can't understand what his alternative to finding truth is? 23:43 Lindsay: "That there is no human nature is a lie". How do you know it's a LIE? Doesn't that depend on what one means by "a human nature"? Isn't this the basis of Buddhism, of the Middle Way? Buddha said, all "things" are impermanent and have no self-identity. The goal is said to be passionlessness and then equanimity, nirvana.
This is a quote from Christopher I. Beckwiths "Greek Buddha":
"In sum, Pyrrho points out that because pragmata ‘(ethical) things, matters, questions’ are inherently undifferentiated by logically valid criteria, there is no valid difference between good and bad, just and unjust, and so on. Therefore, neither sense perceptions nor doxai ‘views, theories’ can either tell the truth or lie, as a consequence of which neither the absolute Truth nor an absolute Lie can “really” exist, nor is it possible to determine “in truth” whether any pragmata exist. Therefore, we should not expect our senses or our doxai ‘views, theories’ to be able to tell the “real truth” or a “real lie” about anything. Instead, we should have “no views” about pragmata, we should be uninclined toward any extreme with respect to pragmata, and we should be unwavering in our attitude about them, reciting about every single pragma the tetralemma formula, “It no more is than it is not, or it both is and is not, or it neither is nor is not”. This formula invalidates all dogmatic arguments. What is left after maintaining this “attitude” or path, says Timon, is first apatheia ‘passionlessness’, and then ataraxia ‘undisturbedness, peace’. According to Diogenes Laertius, Timon says suspending judgement “brings with it ataraxia ‘undisturbedness, calm’, like its shadow”. Although suspending judgement is a feature specifically of Late Pyrrhonism, essentially the same thing is already advocated by Pyrrho himself in the Aristocles passage, and by Timon in his Pytho, where he puts it as “determining nothing and withholding assent”."
I think 90% of what Lindsay says sounds so correct and he is clearly extremely learned and widely read, but when he begins to claim that things like capitalism is like the totally good impulse which will defeat the evil of Wokeism and all the other ills of society and human tendencies, it begins to sound too far-fetched and like he has been thinking too much and going in circles and not had enough breaks to give some creativity to his thinking. Capitalism is a way of organising part of the economy of a society, right? It shouldn't be turned into a religion as it often is, and it surely isn't a panacea for all things illiberal. Fascist societies can easily be capitalist.

James - There’s an important lesson God taught me in a very difficult time. You have to try your best even if the outcome doesn’t go your way. Then God will see your labor and reward you for not demanding an outcome but just doing the hard work for yourself and in service of others.
Don’t get frustrated. You worked very hard to put the message out there. Expecting a certain outcome will only make you upset. Sometimes you have to let go and you will see the fruits of your labor. God is funny and will show you an outcome in a different way sometimes.
When I let go of the outcome I wanted and did the hard work because I wanted to do it for me and my loved ones, I was rewarded with the most bountiful reward I could ever imagine. And what’s cool is I don’t really get the imposter syndrome anymore. Like I’m not worried my reward is going to disappear. Maybe because I earned it, maybe because I worked so hard for it, maybe because I already let go of the outcome. I don’t know. But I feel much more at peace.
So don’t despair James, don’t get frustrated. Keep doing what you are doing and speaking the Truth and spreading what you have learned. God will reward you for trying your best at that and let go of the outcomes.
You can’t control others. You can only control yourself.

I will say that when you open your mind and think beyond the material plane, you will see that there are other things at play.
I believe in multiple dimensions since I majored in physics and I do believe that there are beings that we cannot see. To be so arrogant to think that we are the only intelligent beings after knowing that there are multiple dimensions is laughable. What would a 3D being look to a 2D one? I don’t think it’s even possible that it could comprehend it let alone observe it. It doesn’t have the receptors and doesn’t even know how to create the tools to see it.
Just as insects can see uv light and we only discovered uv light in 1801, did uv not exist until we built the tools to detect it?
I posit to you that it is you that might be the close minded one because you insist on believing only what you and modern tech can observe. You are limited by your senses that are limited to 3D space and we have made no tools that can observe beyond multiple dimensions except for math which funnily enough one of the easiest 2nd semester level calcs you can do is take an integral of a 3D sphere to calculate the volume of a 4D sphere. So through math we know multiple dimensions exist because basic simple calculus can easily derive such a thing. And you can just keep going. You can even calculate the volume of a 100D sphere if you so desired. You just keep taking the integral and you get a number if you give a value for r.
I was an atheist for 20 years and came back to God recently. So I know how it is you think. I can’t unexperience what God has shown me. He’s saved my life literally and told me He did. You cannot understand how 🤯 and overwhelming that was for me.
So considering how much I’ve experienced, how I used to be an atheist and now full heartedly believe, maybe you should check your own biases before evangelizing your atheist beliefs to everyone.

1:43:55 probably the exact right question, and answers given. The relationship discussed here btw Classical Liberalism and Libertarianism is an important one. I'm a Nick Gillespie fan, could be a good guest. I have some partial Libertarian leanings, however, it ultimately is not rly my politic (I'm primarily Center-Left Classical Liberal).
The public/private dichotomy that factors into this, is essential. To bring in Conservatism, I think it should hold sway to a greater extent in cities, not to a lesser extent, which is reversed today. Each of these 3 politics I mentioned overlap and exist appropriately within a normal Overton window, but Conservatism comes into play where we need to slightly break the rule, and impose limitations on ppl's behavior (to conserve, and insist upon certain norms). That's necessary to some extent, we must have norms, the private is not completely separate from the public, and some things we do regardless of private sphere, still affect everyone.
The idea is probably just for imposed normative restrictions to limit ppl as little as possible, depending on which issues you're talking abt, and which contexts. I mentioned cities, ppl in cities have less privacy, practically there is less separation btw their private and public behaviors, shared social norms being delineated and upheld becomes more important in this context.

Both things that are evident in most mammals (esp primates) but they think they should be above or in control of these forces. Luther was one person up against corrupt kings, princes, and the entire church hierarchy... a REAL game of thrones. The odds were against him but he held firm, and with great intellect and firm faith in the Bible kept fighting. Then came the Gutenberg printing press…and his writings could be read all over Europe, his writings changed the course of history in Europe, authority was questioned, not only in the Catholic Church but the power hierarchy of the kings. These changes were known as the Protestant Reformation. To Martin Luther, truth of God’s Words were the only thing that mattered. Freedom for the common man was in the air. I think we are at a similar fork in the road. Truth matters, freedom matters, freedom of speech matters. We can all do this together….everyone just has to be half as dedicated as Martin Luther was (and he didn’t get burned at the stake, whewww!). I think Dr. Peterson would call this a life adventure. ❤️✝️

What grounds language is your capacity to gradually improve upon mental models and their repeated correspondence to symbol manipulation. You're basically just eliminating surprise or confusion, over and over, so you can focus attention on things that are increasingly difficult to communicate about. Language can be compared to mental scaffolding that is built over time in a relatively shared environment. That's why If you go to, e.g., Georgia as an anglophone, you'll have a hard time using language in order facilitate communication. Bodily expressions to direct attention may work. Coming from a literate culture, you might recognise typed script as writing, even if the local writing system is unfamiliar.
They're making sure it's grounded in confusion by flooding your field of perception with mystical nonsense, or "making sure confusion reigns". They're disrupting our ability to communicate, in order to waste effort. To thwart efforts to reject their nonsense within communities.

I have spent much effort in looking back, and discovering what has been “in the way” of moving forward in my life without the false self that DOESN’T work for me in life. I have the Spirit of Christ living in me, and i learn new things every day, that never occurred to me before. They are pure evil and are not giving any credence to differences in thinking. They make the rules. That is how they CONTROL THE ISSUE. We need to stand firm in our beliefs. When they try to move us, WE DON’T MOVE. They change the rules when we are winning. FIRST, they devalue your view, and then they tell you what is better, which THEY KNOW. They have been “WORKING ON ME” for a long time to (1) believe i am MAN in the Bible, AND (2) that i am Jesus. They have been coming after me to believe many different things…also, that i am the President. I get really angry sometimes because i have to FIGHT THEM EVERY DAY. By happenstance this day before I checked in here I read "The Psyche, Love, Sexual Expression & Creativity" by Jane Roberts/Seth this morning - a chapter in The Nature of the Psyche.
I noticed how tetchy I was due to the ongoing weaponisation of grievance as a means to power. Or the ingenuity of casting shifting narrative by which to escape fear of pain of loss - as the posit of control running within a cover story or masking 'justification'.
The use of the word (or imaged symbol) in human terms is masking or revealing. The speed and complexity of shifting between 'truth & lie' working the Self-evasion of a guilting usurpation rising from a mis-taken inheritance at cost (to awareness of) true Inherence.
As with the Prodigal, I see a shift of purpose for the development of the 'identity complex' derived from experience of Separation of Fall, to 'serving in my Father's House'.
But I note this willingness rises from the release of any personal claim to authority as 'Son' apart from or outside the living inherence of the Father.
That the Father re-cognises 'Son' is the gift of the Holy Spirit - or true discernment.
Not a weaponised insight by which to weave yet another cycle of addictive compulsion for getting in externalised projections of self-lack.
