I paid $10 for the KONKA SP6 Budget Smartphone...can it "conquer" this review?

I filmed way too much footage for this phone so if you need to skip through the video then that's completely understandable!

Greetings and welcome to another Cheapo Phone Review!
I've been wanting to cover a device from this brand from a long time and I finally found one at e-waste for $10!
If you're Australian then you've probably seen this brand at your local post office or somewhere.
This is KONKA. A company based in Shenzhen China and they make Electronics which is completely fine.
BUT...why KONKA? I don't know the name but the FONT they used is straight the Nokia Font.
How they've got away with it for this long? I am not sure. Maybe someone can explain but KONKA have been around for 46 years so they've got to be doing something right!
Anyways, this is the usual rambly video on a budget smartphone. Should you consider a KONKA device if you stumble across one? Maybe...if you want a laugh at the boot sound found on their earlier phones.
Otherwise we have some unexpected moments here so I do hope you enjoy this one and it will be interesting to hear from you folks about this one.
Video with the boot animation, it's right at the end:
• Meaningless unboxing: ...
Also bonus KONKA drinking game if you want :)

*Is KONKA a crappy off brand after all? Also $10 from ewaste not $10 retail*
Greetings everyone and welcome back to another cheapo phone review!
I wanted to show you all KONKA and the SPECIFIC font they decided to choose :)
If you have a KONKA R8A - feel free to dump the system files so we can hear that boot sound in all it's quality.
Let me know what you thought of this one down below and let me know if a Phone Tour sounds exciting (it will just be showing what phones I have and rambling, not going in-depth with them unless it's something really cool like the Nokia N90)
Also System Files for this is in the description if you want to go through them and see what you find!
Thanks again for watching, be good people!

Eurostile Extended?
@@rchltmediak
I don't know if it's the same brand, but Konka is a reputable led strip manufacturer used in a lot of OEM tv displays. They also made some cheap tvs that are quite reasonable
KONKA Disconneting people
Should have tried to emulate "Konkas bad fur day" on there.
This is not bad. The price is like buying a dedicated FM radio.
By the way, konka tv is actually good and was popular in the philippines during the latr 90s competing with goldstar (now LG) back then.
KONKA is a relatively well-known Chinese brand in the 2000s, they made our third CRT TV (before we switched to flat panel LCDs). After that they fell into obscurity but apparently the brand is still alive?
It seems to still alive at least in my country (Indonesia). I saw many electronic stores are still selling Konka TV, but it's popularity has been decreased since last decade as their direct competitors (Samsung and LG) starts making more affordable TV product
As someone in Mainland China, I can say that KONKA is indeed still living, and they are still making things like TV, and they seems pretty OK, not bad.
Yup,they are indeed alive. Because they make decent refrigerators and TV's in Bangladesh.
fun fact: konka were actually making phones since the 2000s but only for chinese markets, and they still use that same logo that they use back then
I actually own a TV made by Konka. It's pretty good.
whats the res?
Yeah my family was used to have one in early 2000s. It's a CRT television
yep see KONKA tvs all the time in new zealand
Yep, I actually had a Konka CRT from 2003 until I scrapped it around 2012 when the digital switchover occurred.
I actually miss that CRT television as I spent my childhood playing PS1 and Wii on it.
@@leontechtalks 720p. 32inch screen size IIRC
My face lights up of joy everytime I see a new Smoorez video on my recommended.
Everything you need in a phone. It is what it is and that's all a phone needs to be
unisoc is mainly popular chipset with the transholdings group phones: , infinix, itel and tecno brand. they aiming for budget phones with fairly performances. unisoc t606 etc...
I would LOVE to see a Phone Tour.
ok i did a shot everytime you said "Konka!!" .. i´m efffffffffing hammered right now xD btw you have Opel branded Phones over there? Opel (Vauxhall in U.K. and i just saw that in Australia it´s marketed as "Holden" ?
I'm almost certain they're not affiliated
A cool little device. The camera is pretty good. The photo of the link closed was really good.
Video not too shabby either.
I would use as a spare device to help cut down on battery anxiety on my main device. Lol
I was pretty stunned that you got it from E-waste as it looks in really great condition.
I wouldn't complain if I had this to use in the car playing music .
Fun video to whtch. 😀😎
Actually great for an ultra budget-tier phone, seems to be also great for media playback purposes.
As long as it makes calls then it seems like a ok phone.
Great video
yep, I legitamitly thought it said Nokia in the thumbnail lol. Just goes to show how much font matters when it comes to branding.
might be good to listen to youtube vids with a certain modded version
edit at 29:30 dude that's youtube go it got discontinued by google a few months ago and servers were shutdown for it
I had no idea that UA-cam Go was discontinued. Another one to add to the Google graveyard.
23:18 I remember when your channels picture looked like that, late 2018-ish, good simpler times :D
Even if i never heard of Konka before, its website says it‘s brand lasted since 1980.
Nokia has an new Logo today. The Logo on your phone should be used since 1992. Maybe Konka was first.
My 50" 4K tv is a Konka lol
But is working well, and i take good care of it to keep it this way. The Nokia-like font is funny.
$10 its a gift.👍
Better video title: "KONKA's Bad Phone Day (but it's actually pretty good for the price!)"
28:17 Smoozzzz, drop the EP already, people REALLY DO WANNA HEAR IT!!!
AGREED please release the EP Smooz I'm dying to listen to it
Crazy to think that i paid arround the same for a brand new Realme X back in 2019 on aliexpress, wich im still using, back then you had such good midrange phones for low prices.
This seems to be lowest you could go and still get usable phone, i.e. phone capable of calls, messages, snapshots , quick mail reading and limited surfing in a pinch. Big plus support for 4G LTE . Btw, Nokia font is free to use, or at least there are free fonts that look like Nokia fonts. One is called , don't laugh , NokiaKokia 😁
ngl that wallpaper kinda looked like a iPhone X wallpaper
MicroUSB on the top? Made me weirdly nostalgic for my Asha 305.
I want to see the phone collection you have
That's interesting, show us
YT GO has been discontinued by Google.
This brand is really popular in my country not as a consumed product but for their 1000% marketing
32:27 fun fact: unisoc is actuslly spreadtrum
And there's the worst day in Konka's history - Konka's Bad Fur Day... I'll see myself out.
Remind me of alcatel 1 that I had to use for few days, screen the same, shape the same, performance the same, even images are similar...
Yes, i remember the Konka CRT's as well.
Hey, what suburb of Melbourne you in? No, not gonna stalk ya, it's just i've been watching you for years and i keep trying to guess from your backyard shots.
It reminds me of the Prestigio WIZE Q3 (PSP 3471 DUO), but the layout of the main board and the speakers are different.
First KONKA product I saw was a TV on the ferry going from Hong Kong to Zhuhai.
I have a 43 inch Konka 4K tv. Bought it about 3 years ago. The picture is amazing, Rather watch it than my 65 inch Samsung 4K tv.
Interesting there is also a Konica they bought the camera company Minolta and became Konica-Minolta. Later selling the camera business to Sony and just continued on as the copy machine business.
Would love a tour round your apartment or phone room!!! Hello Ripley🩷
It's the infamous Spreadtrum SC9832E processor. 64-bit budget 4G processors in 28nm HKMG node, with Mali T820 MP1 GPU. And I actually have one phone running this chip, the Samsung Galaxy J2, but it stucks at Android 7 (although I can make it get OneUI 1 a.k.a Samsung's Android 8 but something might misbehave). The performance is kinda hit and miss but when I looked at this phone, it makes me remember the Nokia 2, and it WORSE than that tbh in all aspects.
Hey Smoorez! I recently ordered a cheapo mic setup with other products on Temu, and might make a video about it soon. Any tips?
Also, what's your way of removing the comment bots?
do wireless mic like K35, i want to buy that but not quite sure
@@julhizantwo2277 As I said, I already bought the mic. I myself don't have the K35 and am not planning to buy one, but have found this video after a quick Google search. Hope it's helpful: ua-cam.com/video/aaUCR9IDNzs/v-deo.htmlsi=Vdzl7ZfWIY01-n81

Konka TV is actually pretty good
My family had one till 2003
14:46 lol 😂😂😂
It takes two hamsters for konka to work normal 💀
Konka's Bad Fur Day, by RARE
Get out
That boot animation is similar to Huawei smartphone boot animation, for difference it is the text in Huawei the text is 'Huawei'
Konka is the tram powered by a horse. Like a carriage but on rails.
Я бы не смог таким пользоваться из-за названия, это ж невозможно 😄
Если только его навеки заточить в чехол и не вынимать. А, нет, экран приветствия все равно KONKA
Nokia font, but the name itself sounded like they took a mix of Konica and Tonka. (Neither are Aussie brands, so you might not recognise them.)
Notkia looks cool too.
At 15:19 you can see the phone's ip uncensored
1 frame!
It's just the local IP address lol
For dual VoLTE, that's not bad for a super cheap phone that is a few years old given the impending 3G shutdown
why i felt for "slow motion is amazing". it a cheap devices of course it slow and a motion. damn
looking at images on review sites, it seems like it was only in Aus and it was at the end of 2019 but possibly came to Aus in early 2020. Maybe the pandemic was a reason it is very unknown as it might be the type of phone they only sell for a deal in stores? not sure though.
KONKA T808, a phone from 2008, and it’s actually a rebranded Anycool T808.
one of the rare phones that impressed you 🙂
I want to see phone fleet tour
i want ur tunes dnb n jungle i dj in bristol they will love it
I'L love to see that
Konka is a brand you usually see in Bangladesh
Yeah, I'm Bangladeshi
@@amethystdene Same, albeit by ethnicity alone
@@amethystdenehow did you guys manage to turn your country into a shittier version of India
I just remembered that wasn't Konka the company that made the Nokia N8 china version/bootleg/clone?
I sow a nokla imitation some years ago. Now its konka. But for 10 bucks we cant complain much.
23:23 Slow motion cat butt
KONKA was a reputable brand in China for television, but since 2010s they don't compete well with other television brands in China, and pretty much fell into obscurity
i knew konka thanks for your channel so, no i didn't know about this brand before. this was not so bad, i mean it was slow but for an old people or a child maybe it's not bad (for a really basic use of course). at least it's better than a welcome, which is good.
you will not "konka" the world with this but, you will get king "konka's" sh!t instead :D
Konka here is the most popular brand for Cable TV (latam)
It was realesed at December 3 2019
I dont know, I think 10 bucks for a phone that does everything you need, rather than everything you want is a good deal.
29:27
UA-cam Go sunsetted last years ago
Plot twist: Nokia changed their logo font to make it look more different to the Konka logo.
It's funny that Nokia phones and their logos did not even exist until the mid 90s. Way before this company, I do think Nokia ripped off this company's logo
uh no, Nokia's logo has existed since 1978
The reason why YT go doesn't work is because it was discontinued in between like 2020-2022 (Idk I don't remember)
Looks just like a Medion phone I bought from Aldi some years ago
I suspect the Medion phone was was made for Aldi by Konka.
@@michaelturner4457 most likely not, I don't think KONKA, made any phones
Wasn't medion bought by lenovo years ago i'm certain the laptops / 2 in 1 tablets are....
Dont trash the PS2 like that remeber how good COD finest hour looked? GT4?
no way the konk from super mario bros. wonder has his own phone !!!
give us the phone tour
I have a dumb phone that's Konka and it has the "It Is Konka" on boot-up... Hilarious...how do I get the system file off it?
UA-cam go was shut down
We had refrigerator of konka
To paraphrase DankPods, this nugget is shockingly cromulent.
konka is a literal chinese company. it was MOSTLY sold in Bangladesh and China. as a bangladeshi.. I saw a lot of Konka techs..
The screen kinda looks like the Xiaomi Redmi 6 screen, same size as well
So KONKA made better Nokia phone then HMD did
You say "konka" 128 times (+1 if you count the bootlogo sound)
I remember when i bought my first android nokia( 5)..it was a huge pile of trash ,almost smash out of window with it 😂
HMD did nothing really special with the Nokia brand in it's hand, they released a new Nokia 5130, but most people find it worse than the original from around 2009.
They just slap on the logo, cut costs, throw in some trendy hardware in that category with a hefty margin.
Come on, shake your body, baby
Do the Konka
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Nokia changed their logo a while ago
Sadly UA-cam Go died some time ago..
furture self watching this, do i have 100 phones yet?
For 10 dollars has to be worth it as a backup phone.
I'm in the 0.5% i had a KONKA , it was awful, full of bugs, play store did not work. 😂
UA-cam Go doesn't work because it's been discontinued.
my old sony xperia SP with a custom rom had faster face unlock than that lol
konka is actually a pretty reputable brand here in bangladesh
Konka isn’t off brand, I have a konka tv
Worth it for $10 or even 20.
Konka
I have about 70 or so phones for no reason
2:12 “Take a shot each time *”insert your brand here”* is mentioned
Me : get choked like eight times because of you’re video
Haha I've had this phone before back in 2021
