- I wanted to work with a different theme than usual, so here's a full from-scratch build of a highly-detailed realistic European village situated alongside beautiful scenery near a river - featuring narrow cozy streets, a beautiful old church with an overgrown cemetery, an open center square lined with cafes and restaurants!

You spoil us, Mr. Mayor!
Hey Infrastructurist, I can't believe you chose my map for the build. Loved this!😄
Hi Maver1ck - thanks a lot, and awesome job on the map, a complete pleasure to play with! 😊
Really cool, loved this build, very nice break from the regular series. One note though, I don’t think you needed that off-ramp before the roundabout in the beginning, there’s an extra node in the roundabout entrance that is making the cars stop without needing, hence the queue
I think that there may also be an issue with the intersection settings in the roundabout - the TMPE automatic settings for roundabouts work pretty well.
@@TamaraWiens that was the first thing i was thinking... Why are all the cars stopping???
@@KennethThys the extra node will do that - it's a common issue in C:S, and you will see builders like two dollars twenty or City Planner Plays commenting about, and removing, the extra node when they have similar traffic issues.
Something different! - can't help but feel that I should have incorporated the river and gorge a little more in this build, but with this amount of detailing and wanting to fit it into one video, I had to stop at some point - can always do more detailing I would REALLY appreciate a Like and a Comment
If you want to support me beyond UA-cam - and get early access to videoes such as this one - check out my Patreon: www.patreon.com/infrastructurist
I just need 4000 1$ patrons to go fulltime
Asset/mod collection in the description (although as I mention in the video it's not exactly a carefully curated collection - I just added some euro stuff on top of the Coniferia collection more or less)
Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday!
Infra
The XML that can be imported in Load Order Tool link doesn't have any file attatched .-.
@@eduardosagned6798 Sorry - hopefully fixed for good now!
Is it true that residents like to living along a cemetery in the middle of the square?
I wish my scratch builds were this good. You never dissapoint with your builds!
By far, one of my favorite Cities Skylines builders. You never disappoint and you always inspire me in how I do my builds. Really nice!
You considering making another series continuing this map? Just re-watched it, really beautiful build!
Looks wonderful, super realistic (I'm French), reminds me of Périgord in the southwest of France, check Sarlat-la-Canéda and other nearby villages along the Dordogne River for inspiration!
ils ont le cimetière autours de l'église dans le périgord? perso, j'ai jamais vu ça...
Whoops, something went wrong with the link to the XML/Json with the collection. I have updated it (AGAIN!)
It looks like the issue still continues.
I grew up in a medieval French village in south of France (Lozère) and I can confidently say that you absolutely nailed the style. That's the best village looking city skyline video I ever saw! Congratulation!
A few side notes though
1. Don't hesitate to include small irregularities and dead end (cul-de-sac) in your residential blocks. In this kind of villages, nothing is aligned and we never have full square without a small "passage" for pedestrian to access one or two houses. For example, at 17:34, instead of filling this small gap, I would have added a house down the path.
2. Villages of few hundreds inhabitants tends to have their own cemetery, separated from the church, and definitely not in the center of the village. Back at the time, the plague forced people to burry bodies far away from the village to avoid contamination. Instead, the surroundings of the church is often an empty space where events are held such as the weekly market, weddings or local festivals.
3. The red parking space and small triangles does not exist in south Europe
Pleasantly surprised by this! Your game looks great man....well done with the village it looks very cozy!
Also I'm stunned to hear it took you just one day to build such detailed, charming town!
Wow Infra, just when I thought your builds couldn't get any more perfect.. Such a stunning and cozy little village. Book me a flat by the river! 😎
I know you'll probably not continue this as a series so you don't mind the functionality, but probably my only suggestion would be to add the service blocks to some of the houses to turn them into commercial (cafés, restaurants, grocery shops) and maybe offices too (lawyer, town council, etc.)
And maybe the slip lane around the roundabout was not necessary as someone pointed out.
Anyway, hoping to return to this lovely town soon, as much as I hope to see the next episode of Coniferia, which has become my favourite CS series!
So so so beautiful, obsessed with European builds 😢
I‘m sorry, my inner Monk can’t handle the triangle intersection…
Cars driving out of town have to cross over the inbound lane to then queue on the left side, even when the want to go right. That is a recipe for head-on collisions. You should reverse both of the stubby one-way legs of the triangle.
Other than that, this is an amazing build and I am in awe how much you can archive with minimal mod usage. Really beautiful.
The problem with the roundabout didn't require a passing lane. Traffic manager was just misconfigured on that one connection - cars were stopping completely and waiting for the "intersection" to clear before entering, this isn't how a roundabout is supposed to work, and the configuration was done correctly for the other roads (hence no backing up). It was just a case of fixing the configuration. A roundabout like that is sufficient to handle a medium volume of traffic.
i really liked it. unlike other streamers, this guy puts whole-hearted efforts just to illustrate his picturesque details. amazing, keep going. subbed.
Hey Infra! I’m really excited to see that you are dipping your toes into different building styles and showing us another side of what you can do! This looks incredibly beautiful and authentic. I’m going to rewatch that again right now.
Hi Duszh!
@@jcosunshine hello! :)
French guy here. The "S" in Vallonsdoré should be silent. Though the way you pronounced the "R" is perfect, are you Dutch? The more accurate way of naming the town should have been Vallons Dorés (plural, all silent "S") or Vallon Doré (singular).
Really cool, loved this build for real and Looks wonderful, super realistic AM VERY VERY HAPPY and looking forward for future episodes
What a fantastic area. Truly amazing piece of building. Everything is absolutly stunning. Piece of art from a true artist
Beautiful! My mother is from a small commune in north Italia named Peia and this build reminds me of it! It also reminds me of my homeland in Switzerland and I would totally live in vallonsdoré.
This may be lost in the comment-section, but the music at 10:35 is made by my close friend's cousins band. I just thought it was cool that it randomly appeared here. The song is called "Lotus" by JANA. :)
This is so beautiful, eager to see more of it
wow! fantastic build!
I think that people like you should be engaged in real-life city planning. I would totally love to live in this nice place you created.
Wow, that is a nice compliment. Thanks a lot mango! ☺
Such a beautiful compact village. Looking forward to more! 😊
I travelled a lot across France’s countryside, and this village looks a lot like those small village you can find there, even though certain elements don’t seems that much realistic for a village like this. Despite this, you did a really nice job.
Beautiful village!! Amazing details!🎉
Absolutely beautiful, I have never EVER seen something so Outstanding! 😍
Wow! That looks amazing. I'd love to see more of this build. I would live somewhere near the main square, but with outlook over a courtyard or smaller side street for quiet.
That's a beautiful little village you built. It's so pretty that I want to move there!
wow that was so spectacular!! loved this video !!!
What a nice and realistic european village, good work !
The Mods make cities skylines a completely different game! Excellent work Mayor❤
What a beautiful little town
Thank you!!! ☺☺☺
Between the game, the assets and without doubt your abilities to lay them in a tasteful and realistic manner.. far out dude i found myself at times thinking this is very double take comparable to a real life drone shot, its crazy to think this would ever be achievable with a 2015 tycoon style game.
I think it would be nice if you could give a lot of those backwards tiny rows of vegetable gardens as I'd imagine most of these sorts of backwards wouldn't be open grass.
Looked for this comment. I miss flowers in the windows as well.
I have played the game since 2017 and you are by far up there with some of my favourite builders
How delightful, keep up the good work
Accurate ! 20/20. Great job ^^
This is insanely good looking!
great map, great idea, great build!
Your game looks extremely realistic. Can you make a tutorial on how to make CS look this good?
I dunno if its all in the trees or what but i think those dead ones play a massive part in tricking the eye into seeing this as photo realistic, cuz yeah it DEF has its moments, i'm blown away by the same thing
your back!
Great little build!
Amazing build! ❤
Absolutely Beautiful!
amazing work brother thanks for sharing
Very highly detailed!😎
This is awesome!
I'm tired of city builders being so focused on American / Asian cities with massive buildings, grids, car centered and no historical buildings.
It's so cool that you're making those vidéos, I hope one day a cities skyline-like game will let you customise your city completely.
Omg please tell me you’ll be continuing this city. That was awesome 👏🏻
One way to make it even better is to get rid of the parked cars at the main square, perhaps even making it a pedestrian zone!
Great work..Amazing
eu adoro seu canal 🧡, é incrível como você preenche os espaços com criatividade, a sua capacidade de deixar o paisagismo mais bonito até nos pequenos detalhes... Parabéns de verdade! 👏✨
Brilliant mate, just a couple of suggestions - turn local traffic on so nobody uses the village as a cut through, in my area you would get villages along the main road every 5-10 miles with one or two major towns. Most villages have a pub, one shop and a post office
I don't know man, that roundabout at minute 8 is the most satisfying thing I ever saw in Cities Skyline so far. :D
Impresionante. Un trabajo increible. Enhorabuena
could be a fun brake of the other stuff that you from time to time bring a vid wher you build a small town from a country
good job! Cant wait to play with CS2
I love this city!
this looks unreal !!!
Beautiful, greetings from the Dominican Republic
Dude... youre good and bad at the same time ....
youre the reason i started playing city skylines ... i was stuck on simcity 4 ultra modded until then...
but youre also the reason i get frustrated because i never get something like that done in my game....
Keep it up...
That's amazing
I have never seen city skylines look so good and realistic
Hello! This is exactly the video I was hoping to find tonight and I just subscribed! I want to build a similar small European village as my starting point for my new map. May I ask what Theme and LUT you used for your visuals? They are stunning and the water is particularly beautiful and realistic!
I’d say you succeeded.
Id say Tuscany because it feel like old merchant wealth from the 1300-1400s period with the interesting merchant society.
But the houses are abit too solid for tuscany, so maybe Bavarians or Swiss catholics who fled in the late 1400s-1500 had a big influence on the architectural style.
That's an interesting combination, thanks!
The XML that can be imported in Load Order Tool link doesn't have any file attatched. Would you pls fix it! Third video I asked 😊😊
AMAZING
I wouldn’t mind this build to become a regular series.
As always, amazing build. Would you consider making a medium/large size european city, whether its in this map or in a diferent one?
Beautiful build. I wish I could do something like this. I've logged hundreds of hours on Cities Skylines and I still suck at it.
the best cities skylines i have ever seen
FYI : and thats 6 years of seeing CS content
Amazing
Just use invisible ploppable parking instead of placing car prop’s. When you place invisible parking the actual car’s park there in any position you want anywhere you place it. You can also rotate parking to have car’s park horizontally vertically or 60 degrees
If only Biffa was here to commentate so he could say "Jumpy Game!". Cities: Skylines is a city building treasure but it does not like to run smoothly.
I love your little town
The Most European thing there is: The Traffic jam :) This is 100% Europe :D
Kinda want to spend my holliday at this place! Where do I buy tickets? 🤭😋
Looks pretty! I think you mixed North French and Southern French a bit too much in terms of architecture though.. The church for example is more Spanish or Italian which would make it fit for far Southern French towns but the houses and the surrounding nature is more Normandy or just rural North to center France.
I love this build, but maybe a small barrier in the café Plaza like we have some in spain
amazing
It looks nice, but nothing like a typical German village at least. Of course, depending on the region in Germany the building styles, materials and the village layouts differ strongly, but pretty much all of them feature farms, normally a dense cluster of very old buildings in the center and a sprawl of new single-family houses in the periphery. Definitely a cemetery and usually a factory or company of some sorts, where the people work. How should they earn cash otherwise? Also, normally every house features a garage and garden. There should be playgrounds, at least one soccer field and a sports/event hall.
This build looks like a typical slice of a residential area in an older German city though. Like Stuttgart or Munich.
Big house with the pool. Easy 😂
Really nice build! how you can you change the asphalt in this beautiful stone bottom?
Look at this bloody map it’s beautiful
Cozy village overall, but too many high trees in the backyards and around the church. You wouldn't normally find that in a densely built European village, since the trees would add too much darkness in the houses and apartments. The trees would be kept fairly short and low in these places. High trees around the church like that I've never seen in smal European villages (unless the cemetery around the church is very big). Perhaps one or two of the trees would be tall, but otherwise so many tall trees hinders the view of the church's beautiful exterior, and create too much darkness inside the church. Generally a lot of trees in cemeteries is no good, since the many roots of the trees would interfer with the graves. And the lawn/grass on a cemetery is NEVER that wild grown. It's always kept short and very neat. My last tip is to turn off heavy traffic through the village, and no parking allowed in front of the main square.
Hi
I am completely astounded
What mods are you using for selecting all the props?
And the european buildings and trees?
Who needs a CS2 when you can do that?
Congratulations 🎉
it looks like google maps, so real!
Absolutely love this build
nice!
Infrastructurist, we are not playing the same game... :D :D :D great job! :)
Is this CS2? The graphics looks so great!
Looks pretty awesome. Tip: leave some spaces between some houses so you create aleyways, not all houses are glued together, like everywhere in the world. You also have single houses ofcourse...
Hi! How do you get the sidewalkes and patches under the houses to be tiled? I cant switch from default concrete and its driving me crazy 😅
Hi in the description you have a link for all the mods ans addons you use, but it just links to Load Order Tool 2
It reminds a central-french village with its mixed architecture!!!
Not a southern/Mediterranean european.
Nice job anyway!!! ❤
Me: "ooh this looks cool!"
My PC: "Don't you dare!"
25:49 Dead centre of town
Seriously, though, I love this build
