I can't believe it's been a year already. It's been great watching the progression of Deputy Dog and can't wait to see what's in store for her during another year's time. I thank you for posting these videos.
My pal is still running his every day and has his eyes on a couple of parts trucks. Fine old rigs and every time I got swapped out in rides I'd get a bottle of 409 and a bundle of shop rags and clean the cab inside. You will see the tar and nicotine run down the walls and the headliner lighten up about 3 shades from dark brown to light tan IF it has a tan interior. And you can smell it too. Keep on gouging at it. The old dogs don't need much. My Pal also got an old GMC single axle wrecker, around a 68 or so. 6-71 with a 10 speed. All it needed was batteries and some fuel. Fired right up. The cab is shot but the guts are good. It'll be interesting!
I really have enjoyed your “Deputy Dog” videos. I am trying to purchase a R model myself. Mine does not have the cool back story that yours has. I think it is fantastic that you are rebuilding your dads truck. I am waiting to hear the Deputy Dog howl again!! Can’t wait to see the next video
Everyday American That is a 1966 Brockway with an V8 Detroit Diesel and a 10 speed road ranger transmission. Checkout my videos on my channel I have videos ranging from when I first bought it to when I first got it driving down the road
You should join the big Mack trucks forum. The people on there are awesome. Any problem I’ve had or questions on my mack there’s an answer or someone will answer it for you. One time my brakes were sticking and I looked on there and it said to oil the brake pedal valve and it worked. It’s a great site.
I Enjoy watching your videos, In the early 90's I drove a 1982 R-600 mack with nearly the identical specs as this one. It was used mainly as a low boy tractor, and with the heaviest machine they had at that time on the GVW was a little over 134,000 lbs and it got the job done. it was a good running 300! Nearly the same everything and 67mph top speed LOL, Ours had a nice chrome radiator grill Gard and lighted chrome guide poles a little darker red. In my opinion keep it all the same as when your dad had it, Get a good Mig welder and replace what is bad. i am trying to remember the truck #, i think it was 7 also ?? Good luck with everything.
I drove an old #7 truck that started out as an R-model tri--axle, 350 Mack and a 12-speed. Ended up a tri-axle tractor with the 44 rears and 38 front. Rode like a wagon but was STRONG and topped out at 70. Hauled a lot of boulders for flood control with an armoured R/S trailer and straight stuff with an aluminum R/S. Sweet old ride! It was a terror as a tri-axle dump!
While your at it get a chrome straight pipe to match the bumper. It is a Mack so gotta have a pipe. Go with Mack filters but be ready for sticker shock.
for me Mack truck is the guarantee of any other truck because it has a lot of fakes and it never falters in any situation or whatever weight I like Mack truck because I am a good driver truck
I don't know if anyone suggested it before, but the truck would look good with tall dual exhaust stacks like the R model had in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Maybe even transplant a Mack E9 V8 into it and hot rod it like the motor that is in the "Back In Black" Mack Superliner. Then you can do burnouts. LOL! ua-cam.com/video/NkW_AuP-R4k/v-deo.html
I'm planning to Keep the drive train original and Keep just one stack. My dad used to Say "just a single stack Mack with a window in back" So I'm going to keep it that way. I do hope to have a Superliner some Day too. That will have 2 stacks for sure!

Well done. Keep up the good work. I love the look of the wagon. Not too much bulls droppings on her. Looks like she could do a days work. 👌👌👌
Love the old R-600’s. I learned on an old R 600 single axle tractor. Was an old APA Transport line haul tractor.
I'm glad the deputy dog found such a good home. keep up the good work🇺🇸
