Faxanadu is amazing. When it came out, I was yelling about how great it was, but no one would listen. I also think The Immortal should be on this list. Incredible graphics, animation, story, and very high level of difficulty.
I had it as a kid, 12ish. I really enjoyed it and got pretty far, but didn't beat it till I was an adult. It is very long. Eventhough I thought I was near the end as a kid, there was a lot left as it is actually multi-generational. I had beat most the RPGs on the NES as a kid, but that one was something else.
A list I mostly agree with. I would put Dragon Quest/Warrior IV not III, The Bard's Tale I in place of Wizardry, and bump Zoda's Revenge for AD&D Pool of Radiance.
Somebody finally mentioned Magic of shararzad! Rented that game several times eventually beat it. It was cursed by terrible box art. Had a very Zelda like overworld that led into a dungeon crawling RPG. Very good game!
This is my list 10. Crystalis 9. Zelda II: the Adventure of Link 8. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light 7. Star Tropics 6. Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest 5. Final Fantasy 4. Dragon Ball Z: Kyoshu! Saiyajin 3. Legend of Zelda 2. Faxanadu 1. Dragon Warrior

There are ways. Ways that some would call....unnatural. You can emulate on PC or buy one of those rom consoles from amazon you play on TV that can also do save states. Get a TV from a thrift store cheap.
@@ShutoStriker Was thinking of getting a Switch, and playing what I can there. I also have a retro game store near me I can probably get a nes from too.

Destiny of an Emperor is something I would be into now, but I looked past it as a kid.

I remember paying someone $20 just to borrow this game. I managed to beat it, and still play it again from time to time.
Finally beat the original Dragon Warior when I hooked up the ol' NES to my new HDTV a few years ago. Very satisfying.
I still need to do this. My older bro beat it way back, and it has always been in the back of my mind to playthrough and finally beat it myself
Faxanadu was one of my favorite games as a kid.
The magic of Shahrazad was so hard one of the few games i did not complete as a kid but it was so good.
So glad you included Startropics 2 that’s my favorite series

Finally a list I agree with. Same with some of the comments here. (Mostly, I approve of the DW love.) Well done.
You could do voiceover acting for commercials and movie trailers.
