Those who saw Childe's demon mode would be like "wtf" towards Gacha Childe. We can even see sooo many people already decided to skip him and Zhongli's as the future 5* units are incoming, especially everybody's husbando/waifu Xiao + Ayaka. Good business by miHoYo, releasing "weak" 5* now, then the ones people drool over later on to keep the hype going.

I managed to beat him the first time without using food, now he manages kill my characters once or twice, though im too weak to beat him, it takes for ever to take out his hp in the third phase, then he just slowly but surelly otks every characterbon my team using that unavoidable atk, i found out that dionas special bugs the target and makes so it loses you, but her special has a long animation, you need to do it fast them dash away.
about the unavoidable strikes, you can actually go to the wall to make the ring around you dissapear. you'll still need to be away quite a bit because of the shockwave when he comes down.

Lol it says the recommended party level is 35 but I'm fighting him and he's at lvl 71, 5 of his normal attacks are enough to kill me but there's even an attack that one shots my tankiest character with 14k health
@@kanade2605 he's not supposed to. When you face bosses for the first time (in story mode) they have a low base level. That's why you get to choose what recommended level you want to face all the other bosses (like stormterror) at. I can't beat him, it's just not possible at the moment, hopefully they fix this soon
You can also use the cutscenes of other characters' elemental burst to avoid the lightning jump, like Barbara's for example. All 5 star have these little cutscenes whenever they use a elemental burst.
One attack I didn't cover is his spinning spear in phase 3. He will send out a spear that just moves around the outside of the arena. If you fight near the center, you can ignore this spear entirely. Also, I didn't do anything special from using Childe for this fight. I just wanted another solo unit and I was lucky enough to get him (I only have two 5* units; you can see my roster 0:27). Hope you all find this guide useful and thanks for watching!

This boss fight at WL5 is super annoying! My characters can't survive the 2nd phase even with all the buffs I used. :((((( EDIT: I was finally able to beat him (still with 5* buffs). One thing I found out is that you can actually vaporize the mark he puts on you when you get hit. Just go near the barrier and it will disappear. And of course, continuous dodging following this guy's strategy in the video. I used Venti for the ranged damage, Diona as a back-up ranged damage dealer and for her shield and a bit of healing, and Barbara for massive healing (because damn his hits are insane). Hope this helps!

@@ribbon1150 Yeah, after learning his moves a bit I managed to kill him with Razor. His HP is quite low but I didn't expect him to one-shot my healer with this stupid lighting. 3rd phase is paradoxically the easiest for melle IMO. His slashing attacks are easy to dodge.

Tip: If you have Qiqi you can use her in boss fight. Her attack speed is so fast and Childe can't even respond and being defenseless. (Phase 1/2) Idk why didn't he mention but in 5:53 you can just walk to the corner and the elec circle will gone. Actually he did this in video for once.

Thought I'd add a little tip for people without Venti. 1) When Childe marks you with water, run to any edge of the battle field. You'll see "vaporize" appear and the mark will disappear. Childe will still continue any ongoing barrage but will not follow up with any more marked attacks. 2) If you are marked with his electric attack, specifically that annoying ring that's almost a guaranteed 'one-hit-kill', again run to any edge and 'overload' will appear and the mark will be removed (the electric circle will pause in place -- run away from it as Childe will still launch his attack on it! Good luck :D!

I need to grind more 😢. Im currently AR 37 and my main characters' level is 64, the rest are below 55 and I only made it to phase 2 😅. Im currently focusing on ascending my Barbara (damn Oceanid) 😅.
Dude thx soooo much for this guide :))) The guide helped me out a ton. Like I can even Solo Childe now. Btw, one great tip I found is if u do get marked, get to the very edges of the arena. This way, either overloaded or vaporize will proc, thus getting rid of the marker. Ur gonna lose hp sure, but it’s better than being insta-killed.
Awesome guide, I thought Childe was a fun and challenging boss at first, but seeing you identify all his attacks shows his difficulty depends on how panicked you are, and you made him look like a joke. Calling his whale attack a gacha whale is what got you a subscriber, I like your content!
I think I know how to avoid the impossible to dodge attack unless you have Venti, you just go to the walls of the arena to get the ring off, it will trigger overload which causes the ring to let go and stay in place
How did I not think of that when I do that all the time? Thank you, was bummed about changing my team to be safe, will just hold on to the ult and remember to build it up upon using it, got Jean and Sucrose to potentially fuel the Jean ult a lot so let's see if I can poke with Jean's E's without staying in close range for too long, Sucrose's E has just enough range to stay at a comfortable distance. I don't have Mona, but think her dashes may also work. And I should add a valuable tip I got from Enviosity, when no other option exists, just switch to your least valuable character and have them take one for the team.
I might be wrong but I think you missed a move. It's in phase 1 and 2 where occasionally Childe, while holding his daggers, throws a quick shotgun blast of water/lightning that knocks your character away. It's a mid range move that's highly damaging (I think only his whale and dragoon jump hits harder) that's easily his rarest move but the most dangerous attack since he throws out so quick/randomly. I see it a lot more in coop and is generally the move that's killed people the most in the first half of the boss fight.
I'm pretty sure the jump attack can be avoided if you remove the ring with a reaction. Xinqiou's e works for me, I'm pretty sure Barbara's works too but I haven't tested it. As you said the barriers of the arena work too, I'm pretty sure It's because they cause pyro blight if noticed. I hope this helps anyone who struggles with this attack :P I still need to test this tho. P.D: sorry for grammar english is my second language :'D
Some extra tips: you can get rid of the debuff effect by just going to the barrier around the arena, it will give you overload/vaporize effect but it's pretty small amount of damage comparing to Childe's attack :D

Considering my AR level I am too freaking noob to take him down I was having such hard times and died multiple times in a blink lmao 💀 now I know which characters I need to focus more on and it gives me new ideas to build up my party! Dodge timing is also a technique on this challenge. Me and my friend (ar 45 & done this quest),he tried to do this challenge again to analyze its attacks better and it helped me a lot and it works. I just finished him up today with my charac.all alive 😭
Considering how much I struggled, you made this look easy. I managed to trounce his first form, then he annihilated me with his second. I think my problem is that I became too dependent on Lisa, who is OP vs many bosses, when it looks like the trick is to use a long range character since it seems like a lot of his more annoying and devastating attacks trigger if you get too close.
Im just curious if ke qing teleports in the air while he does his lighting jump, can it be avoided ? ( i did try it a few times but only once did i escape the attack) Edit : Yeah it does seem to work but timing of teleport must be around halfway through the charging of instant ko Attack . If too early you will land before he attacks and he will kill/shave of almost all of your health
Goodness, you're a blessing. Though I stopped building my ranged characters, I was able to use Xinyan's shield to stop me from dying. Your in-depth video really helped a lot T-T made me calmer than usual when I faced Childe T-T Thank you sm!
If you are referring to the lightning jump, try using an Insulation Potion (craftable potion that gives 25% Electro Res) and hope your shields are strong enough.

For everyone to notice related to boss fight ,,,,,you can dodge the childe s unavoidable jump ,,by removing the element when childe hit u ,,,it means when u get hit by childe s attacks u get a debuff,,, to simply remove the debuff ,,go to the edge of the arena ,,,and touch or dash the wall ,,,u can remove the childe s debuff ,,,and it workssss
i don't have any 5 star character just venti but the damage he does with the bow is bad and I don't have any other characters that use a bow (just amber but she is kind of bad) I have traveler lvl 70 (the damage she does with the sword is kind of good but I have to get very close and I end up dying ..) , lisa lvl 70 (The damage my lisa does is great but I have to combine elements with xiangling), xiangling lvl 60 (the damage she does with the spear is very bad lol), and barbara lvl 42 (my barbara is very good healing a lot) Well I wanted to level up xiangling and get more artifacts for her but I can't even do a dungeon .. I died to childe 3 or 4 times I think I'll never kill him lol i will try again but i think i will die again
You missed the biggest tip of them all, if you get marked and the big unavoidable attack comes flying your way, you can avoid it by running to the edge of the arena and "touching" the wall. That will make the mark disappear and, if he is already doing his attack, will make him land at the place where you lost your mark.
For the lightning ring attack just run to the edge of the arena and touch the invisible wall. It will cause the ring to fall off, and you have some time to sprint away.

You forgot about his "lightning wheel" ability in phase 3, I always get caught by it because it comes out so fast; he throws his lance at you, spinning vertically, which travels all the way to the opposite edge of the arena before returning to him, and deals heavy electro damage on contact during both sweeps, very fast and hard to dodge if you're in melee, but it does give several seconds where Childe is unarmed and doesn't attack you back so I usually just use Noelle to tank through it when he's in Phase 3
Nice video, as always. :) Regarding the "lightning jump", I just watched another video where the players avoids the damage by simply moving to (and touching) the edge of the room, which makes your character leave the circle behind, so when Childe jumps he hits the circle, not you. :) I'm about to start this fight, so wish me luck. for lightning jump, if you go to the sides or walls when he's charging it up, the lightning will stick to the sides and you just dash away safety. sorry if you covered this already since this is an old video but just thought i would let you know if you didnt yet
i'm so glad i found your channel. This is incredible detailed and i love it. Thought Childe gonna oneshot one of my characters with these marked electro jump but apparently i should just use my noelle ( dont have venti ). Great Guide!
*On Childe's level 3, when he locks the lightning to you, go near the side of the area (make sure you touch the sides) and you will get the Overloaded effect, removing the lock to you.* :)
Ive lost countless times with even Adeptus Temptation, but now I've won without it. The squad I used was Geo traveller, Xiangling, Diona and Noelle. Don't fight at range. Fight up close and you'll notice when you hit him up close he stops for a bit. I used Diona's and Noelle's shield to get up close. Then I'd drop Goumba right next to him and used the boulder with traveller and physical attacks. When he uses the whale, use this time to get up close to Childe and attack him as he is safe from the water area. I'd also use the shields on THAT electric move but also do try to dodge it by just sprinting to the edge of the arena. THIS WILL HELP! Any attack or food defence will obviously help.
You can avoid the jumping lightning via s, you can count til 5 or 6 before you to your next character ++ the jump penetrates on beidu's shield considering if she has 13-15k hp, it ll only absorb impact if you have the c1 with lightning absorption shield
When childe use lighting jump, run until you reach barrier side of the arena, when you touch it, target ring will drop and run away from the ring to avoid lighting jump
Just wanted to add something that's not here. When you get that electric ring around you in the second phase of the boss battle, you dash to the side of the room and touch your body to the edge. This leaves the electric ring there and you don't get damaged. Hope this helps

Yessssss the unavidable hit occurs when we are affected by electro, the wall around is actually burning so going to the wall causes reaction

@@ribbon1150 Yeah, after learning his moves a bit I managed to kill him with Razor. His HP is quite low but I didn't expect him to one-shot my healer with this stupid lighting.
3rd phase is paradoxically the easiest for melle IMO. His slashing attacks are easy to dodge.

i can avoid Lighting Jump by get closer to edge arena, you will get overloaded but the mark will lose from you
Tip: If you have Qiqi you can use her in boss fight. Her attack speed is so fast and Childe can't even respond and being defenseless. (Phase 1/2)

His lvl 40 character deal up to 1000 damage on auto attack while me only deal 200 damage per auto attack
Another very useful tip for this fight, if you get marked, just run next to the wall. the wall causes the mark to go away

Thought I'd add a little tip for people without Venti.
1) When Childe marks you with water, run to any edge of the battle field. You'll see "vaporize" appear and the mark will disappear. Childe will still continue any ongoing barrage but will not follow up with any more marked attacks.
2) If you are marked with his electric attack, specifically that annoying ring that's almost a guaranteed 'one-hit-kill', again run to any edge and 'overload' will appear and the mark will be removed (the electric circle will pause in place -- run away from it as Childe will still launch his attack on it!

Btw, one great tip I found is if u do get marked, get to the very edges of the arena. This way, either overloaded or vaporize will proc, thus getting rid of the marker. Ur gonna lose hp sure, but it’s better than being insta-killed.

Awesome guide, I thought Childe was a fun and challenging boss at first, but seeing you identify all his attacks shows his difficulty depends on how panicked you are, and you made him look like a joke. Calling his whale attack a gacha whale is what got you a subscriber, I like your content!

I think I know how to avoid the impossible to dodge attack unless you have Venti, you just go to the walls of the arena to get the ring off, it will trigger overload which causes the ring to let go and stay in place

Both Barb n Ning Q has i-frame, I believe Kaeya 5th sequence att has i frame too

How did I not think of that when I do that all the time? Thank you, was bummed about changing my team to be safe, will just hold on to the ult and remember to build it up upon using it, got Jean and Sucrose to potentially fuel the Jean ult a lot so let's see if I can poke with Jean's E's without staying in close range for too long, Sucrose's E has just enough range to stay at a comfortable distance. I don't have Mona, but think her dashes may also work. And I should add a valuable tip I got from Enviosity, when no other option exists, just switch to your least valuable character and have them take one for the team.
I might be wrong but I think you missed a move. It's in phase 1 and 2 where occasionally Childe, while holding his daggers, throws a quick shotgun blast of water/lightning that knocks your character away. It's a mid range move that's highly damaging (I think only his whale and dragoon jump hits harder) that's easily his rarest move but the most dangerous attack since he throws out so quick/randomly.
I see it a lot more in coop and is generally the move that's killed people the most in the first half of the boss fight.
Being a darksouls gamer really prepared me for this haha
When childe puts a circle around u, just touch the barrier. It'll cause an elemental reaction and take the circle off of u, dash away after it's off

I'm pretty sure the jump attack can be avoided if you remove the ring with a reaction. Xinqiou's e works for me, I'm pretty sure Barbara's works too but I haven't tested it. As you said the barriers of the arena work too, I'm pretty sure It's because they cause pyro blight if noticed.
I hope this helps anyone who struggles with this attack :P I still need to test this tho.

don't get marked by his Riptide, just don't.
Some extra tips: you can get rid of the debuff effect by just going to the barrier around the arena, it will give you overload/vaporize effect but it's pretty small amount of damage comparing to Childe's attack :D

Dodge timing is also a technique on this challenge. Me and my friend (ar 45 & done this quest),he tried to do this challenge again to analyze its attacks better and it helped me a lot and it works. I just finished him up today with my charac.all alive 😭

Considering how much I struggled, you made this look easy. I managed to trounce his first form, then he annihilated me with his second. I think my problem is that I became too dependent on Lisa, who is OP vs many bosses, when it looks like the trick is to use a long range character since it seems like a lot of his more annoying and devastating attacks trigger if you get too close.

You can dodge the lightning ring by just going at the arena barrier and dash, simple trick works with solo traveler too ( without shield or venti )

Im just curious if ke qing teleports in the air while he does his lighting jump, can it be avoided ?
( i did try it a few times but only once did i escape the attack)
Edit : Yeah it does seem to work but timing of teleport must be around halfway through the charging of instant ko Attack . If too early you will land before he attacks and he will kill/shave of almost all of your health
If you are far enough away from the ground, then Keqing's E should work. Just need the proper timing.
Goodness, you're a blessing. Though I stopped building my ranged characters, I was able to use Xinyan's shield to stop me from dying. Your in-depth video really helped a lot T-T made me calmer than usual when I faced Childe T-T Thank you sm!
About timing the dodge, we have no timing skills.
Great guide! In case someone doesn't know, you can just run towards the wall to remove the debuff he puts on you whenever.
If you get that ring around you in the second/third phase you can quickly dash and touch the walls of the arena and that will get rid of the ring
Yeah this doesnt work for me as he just one hits all my lvl 80 units for whatever reason
If you are referring to the lightning jump, try using an Insulation Potion (craftable potion that gives 25% Electro Res) and hope your shields are strong enough.
because this boss also scale with your level. this boss in video only lvl 60. ny boss is lvl 72

For everyone to notice related to boss fight ,,,,,you can dodge the childe s unavoidable jump ,,by removing the element when childe hit u ,,,it means when u get hit by childe s attacks u get a debuff,,, to simply remove the debuff ,,go to the edge of the arena ,,,and touch or dash the wall ,,,u can remove the childe s debuff ,,,and it workssss
i don't have any 5 star character just venti but the damage he does with the bow is bad and I don't have any other characters that use a bow (just amber but she is kind of bad) I have traveler lvl 70 (the damage she does with the sword is kind of good but I have to get very close and I end up dying ..) , lisa lvl 70 (The damage my lisa does is great but I have to combine elements with xiangling), xiangling lvl 60 (the damage she does with the spear is very bad lol), and barbara lvl 42 (my barbara is very good healing a lot) Well I wanted to level up xiangling and get more artifacts for her but I can't even do a dungeon .. I died to childe 3 or 4 times I think I'll never kill him lol i will try again but i think i will die again

You missed the biggest tip of them all, if you get marked and the big unavoidable attack comes flying your way, you can avoid it by running to the edge of the arena and "touching" the wall. That will make the mark disappear and, if he is already doing his attack, will make him land at the place where you lost your mark.
For the lightning ring attack just run to the edge of the arena and touch the invisible wall. It will cause the ring to fall off, and you have some time to sprint away.
At 06:00, you can also teleport in the air with keqing, and it's hard to do, but if you use bennetts ult at the right time, the I frame will help

You forgot about his "lightning wheel" ability in phase 3, I always get caught by it because it comes out so fast; he throws his lance at you, spinning vertically, which travels all the way to the opposite edge of the arena before returning to him, and deals heavy electro damage on contact during both sweeps, very fast and hard to dodge if you're in melee, but it does give several seconds where Childe is unarmed and doesn't attack you back so I usually just use Noelle to tank through it when he's in Phase 3

Nice video, as always. :) Regarding the "lightning jump", I just watched another video where the players avoids the damage by simply moving to (and touching) the edge of the room, which makes your character leave the circle behind, so when Childe jumps he hits the circle, not you. :) I'm about to start this fight, so wish me luck. for lightning jump, if you go to the sides or walls when he's charging it up, the lightning will stick to the sides and you just dash away safety. sorry if you covered this already since this is an old video but just thought i would let you know if you didnt yet

See the pinned comment or description for the explanation to avoid the Lightning Jump. It's an alternate solution if you don't have Venti or shields.

To avoid the electro jump attack, run to the wall/barrier. That will clear Childe's sigil on you, then he won't be able to pin point his attack.
*I've been waiting for this one. TURN IN UP !*
*On Childe's level 3, when he locks the lightning to you, go near the side of the area (make sure you touch the sides) and you will get the Overloaded effect, removing the lock to you.* :)
Ive lost countless times with even Adeptus Temptation, but now I've won without it. The squad I used was Geo traveller, Xiangling, Diona and Noelle. Don't fight at range. Fight up close and you'll notice when you hit him up close he stops for a bit. I used Diona's and Noelle's shield to get up close. Then I'd drop Goumba right next to him and used the boulder with traveller and physical attacks. When he uses the whale, use this time to get up close to Childe and attack him as he is safe from the water area. I'd also use the shields on THAT electric move but also do try to dodge it by just sprinting to the edge of the arena. THIS WILL HELP! Any attack or food defence will obviously help.
You can avoid the jumping lightning via s, you can count til 5 or 6 before you to your next character ++ the jump penetrates on beidu's shield considering if she has 13-15k hp, it ll only absorb impact if you have the c1 with lightning absorption shield
When childe use lighting jump, run until you reach barrier side of the arena, when you touch it, target ring will drop and run away from the ring to avoid lighting jump
Just wanted to add something that's not here. When you get that electric ring around you in the second phase of the boss battle, you dash to the side of the room and touch your body to the edge. This leaves the electric ring there and you don't get damaged. Hope this helps
i’m watching this after i defeated him and im glad running away to dodge and hitting him when i can was the right move. i find comfort in knowing others got their ass kicked too 🙈 i thought i was just being dumb
