No hope for opera today. Listen Rosanna Carteri singing this and you will notice nobody sing like that today and people don't like that way of singing anymore. They art of opera is dead. Sadly
I only chanced on this video because Chi il bel Sogno is on a forthcoming concert programme and I wanted to become more familiar with it. I listened to both Dame Kiri Te Kanawa’s and Angelo Gheorghiu’s performances, prior to this video, but these two are so captivating. I enjoyed this performance very much.
Let's not forget that we are gifted this by Puccini. What beautiful music he wrote.
