Idaho is so under rated, yet one of the most diversely beautiful places I have been and a nature photographers paradise. Thousand Springs I was not ready for the first time I stopped by there. I thought it was going to be a quick drive through but ended up spending most of a day there. Craters of the Moon was on my want list but I always bypassed it on my way to Yellowstone. I'm so glad I finally made it a destination and spent the better part of three days there taking it all in and photographing the rugged beauty there. The sun bleached dead trees really added to the otherworldly feeling. I still need to make it to City of Rocks and that area.
We spent 3 nights in the Craters of the Moon campground. It was amazing. We could hop on our ebikes and just cruise through the park and got to see just about everything.
Nathan I'm not sure that Marissa isn't from another world because she is out of this world beautiful. But seriously, I must thank my parents for going to a different place every year on vacation. I've continued the tradition. I've been to every state in the union except for Alaska, California and Nevada, and I'm planning on getting to them in the next few years. Keep the good stuff coming guys and give the kids a hug from me.
I've really enjoyed your Idaho videos. Who knew Idaho was so spectacular? When did y'all go? Not many people around so it seems like a good time. Keep em coming.😊
Priest lake is a beautiful area to stay and visit. Courd e Arlene resort is awesome with restaurants, massages, golfing and the floating restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat.
FABULOUS video! Ya'll have convinced us to go to Idaho. Amazing! You do my heart good with your joyful spirits and your video talent. I'm old enough to be your mom and I'm thrilled to see how your kids are being raised and knowing the faith and values being instilled in them. Marissa, you're always lovely but your eyes looked luminous in this video and you're getting skinnier, girl! Of course, I'm always jealous of Nathan's eyelashes! You all look so healthy. This lifestyle is good for you! I always enjoy your videos and your commentary. Ya'll are fun! And happy birthday, Nathan!
Unusual and stunning landscapes I always come back to Utah and the incredible landscapes. Deadhorse state park is awesome, canyonlands, Bryce is an underrated gem. So amazing! Can’t forget Sedona AZ….stunningly beautiful.
My husband and I have Idaho on our bucket list! Since we saw a documentary on ether Netflix or Amazon? And we were Wowed by the whole State! Amazing 🤩! Thank you so much for this video!
Hi Nathan and Marissa. My husband and I just watched your trip to Idaho on UA-cam because we are from Idaho and wanted to see the places you visited. I've lived here all my life, in Pocatello and I love it! I really wish that people knew how beautiful Idaho really is instead of thinking all there is, are potatoes. We can travel 20 minutes and be at a campground, or 40 minutes and be skiing, or a half hour and be water skiing, or 10 minutes and be rock climbing. Hiking is really close as well. I loved hiking up to balanced rock!! I didn't know about it until 4 or 5 years ago when my friend and I decided to go climb it. We had so much fun! It was soooo good to watch the places you and your family visited here in Idaho. Im sure its to late to suggest another place to see but if you're ever here again you need to go to the Minetonka Ice Caves, Bloomington Lake and Bear Lake if you didn't while you were here. They're all about in the same vicinity and they are soooo amazing!!! Your kids are cute! Brenda🙂
We live in OR. but my wife is from ID. so we have been to most of the places you are showing. I think you'll understand why we have never relocated other than to visit. We were just at the falls yu were showing this summer. Well worth the trip
Nathan, I have been in a lot of states, as we moved from time to time when my dad was in the Air Force. I went to College at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and joined the Campus Christian Fellowship, we took many trips, one of them was to Craters of the Moon. That was awesome. We also went to Jackson Hole, rode the river raft on the Snake River, Timpanogas Cave, Provo Utah, Canyanlands, Newspaper Rock, other parts of Idaho north of Bear Lake.
I'm so excited to watch all of you go to Craters of the Moon, someplace I've been and being able to experiencing it again. I even stayed at the same KOA.
Thank You !!!! Me and my BRIDE ( of 35 yrs. ) are planning a road trip out west in a couple of yrs. She said she wanted to go to Idaho. I said why, it's just flat land and a bunch of potato fields. Thanks to you and some other RV full timers I have been watching for about 3 yrs, I have eaten my words. With this last video it reminds me how wrong I was and now Idaho is at the top of the list of places to see out west. Thank you for taking us on your journey around the US to show us all the wonderful places our country has to offer. Love watching your channel and family. Stay safe and enjoy every moment with family, it passes by far to quick. THANK YOU !!!!!
One of the things we have learned in our years of travels is there is something beautiful in every state and we loved to be surprised when we find it. ❤
Wow that is so beautiful, Im surprise how the kids sre changing, JJ is doing so good at walking everywhere and your daughter well she is climbing and walking since she was little, I know you been to New Mexico but we have a place tgat is called Bisti Badlands, is beautiful and out of this world, ...we also have Carlsbad caverns, White Sands those are few places to stsr... Well have fun and be safe....
I was going through Idaho when you guys were. wish I could of met you guys. Had to take my great grandaughter back to Nebraska, now on my way back to Washington state.. love watching you guys.
Great video. We lived in idaho our whole life until this summer. Moved to Kansas. Lol sounds crazy. Southern idaho is considered a “high desert” since it’s a desert at higher elevation.
We camped at the campground there in the Craters of the Moon monument. Tight spots and all lava rock. Covered all the trails you hit. Nice you could meet up with FOS.
I'm so glad you got to experience some fun things Idaho has to offer. Between the Perine Bridge adventures of a previous video and then Craters so much fun. I wondered if you made it to the Sturgeon farm near Buhl? I'm sure the kids would have loved to see those huge fish. So glad you got to experience my home state!
We were at Craters of the Moon last month. Really cool place and the campground that was there is going to be a stop for us next time through. I imagine they get some spectacular night sky’s in that park!
If you ever find yourself traveling thru north-central Illinois, take the time to visit The Allerton Estate. It's not really "otherworldly", but is a bit of a step back in time. After having been abandoned for quite some time, it's now under either state or private ownership (I forget which), open to the public on a limited basis. You'd have to do a search to find info on it, which I have done a number of times, but always late at night after a couple of adult beverages, so my memory of my search results is a bit foggy, apologies. I lived in the area briefly in 1973, when it was still abandoned, and my boyfriend (an Illinois native) took me there one afternoon. The memories of that day are with me still, over 50 years later. Highly recommend.
Craters of the Moon is one of my favorite National Monuments. If you get to Flagstaff, Arizona, I recommend Walnut Canyon National Monument to see the Cliff Dwellings built between 1123-1250. Wukoki is also nearby with more ruins of ancient peoples. And there are more of those lava fields like you are seeing in Idaho.
Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park jointly have some of the most otherworldly sites I've ever encountered. It's a wildly underrated region. Meteor Crater is also a big hit with kids. The entire route from Flagstaff to Albuquerque offers a ton of attractions that allow you to get off the beaten path for stunning landscapes.
I visited Craters of the Moon in the early 70s when we were driving across the US to my dad’s next assignment (Hawaii)in the Air Force. I was 11 years old and still remember it. We’re planning a trip to Alaska next year and we’re planning stops in Idaho along the way.
Loved the video!! We went to Craters of the Moon a few years ago, and experienced it while there was smoke in the air from wildfires. That made the experience even more cool!! There weren’t very many people there, and the feeling you got with the smell of smoke & haze, made for a pretty cool experience!
That entry into city of rocks reminded me SO much of Bryce that my brain just screamed that it's a grey version of it. How is this not better known?!? Thank you SO much for sharing, even though we've already crossed Idaho off our states visited bucket list we obviously didn't even scratch the surface and definitely need to go back!
You have to go to Elk River ID. You literally drive until the highway ends and there is Elk River. There is hiking and waterfalls. Tons of history. Very RV friendly. The best huckleberry ice cream you will ever have. My Dad is also the Mayor there
My daughter lives in Southern Idaho, I sent this to her and I hope she visits these places with my grandson!! Thanks for the content! You guys are awesome ❤
Hopefully you make it to Idaho Falls, it's got some great views on the waterfront are and a beautiful Japanese gardens in the same area overlooking the falls and river. I spent a week in the area and really liked it.
Happy Birthday Nathan! 🎉🎈🎂 What a nice beautiful place to visit and take the kids so they can learn and experience it and enjoy the journey. It’s good to see parents like you both doing this for their family. Great video! Everything was beautiful! Have a great birthday! 🎁 And great week!

Hello there beautiful family what a beautiful place to be . In Idaho what beautiful Waterfalls never seen so many 😊.. Love seeing all the cool places you go. Thanks for taking us along with you everywhere you go we appreciate it Stay safe out there on the roads 😊 Take care God bless you guys ❤ we been following you ever since you started doing videos 😊
You need to come to Oregon. You were already near the Wallowa Mountains. Go see Newberry Crater/Paulina lake near Bend. The make your way to the Oregon Coast. Maybe you’ve done Oregon already , I’m not sure , I have only been following you for a few months and I love watching your family adventures
For lava visit Valley of Fire Rec area near Carrizozo, NM. About 90 mikes south if there is White Sands National Park Then several hours west of there (almost into Arizona) is City of Rocks State park
Hell's Canyon on the Western side of the State is another out of this world experience. There are also two different sand dune locations that are amazing. St. Anthony on the Eastern side and Bruneau Sand Dune State Park in SW Idaho.
You should check out Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. It is one of those places that makes you wonder how a place like that came to be located where it is.
I am sure I have said I live in Idaho, been to all of these places. City of Rocks has a great state campground, I have stayed there several times. Actually I think it is called Castle Rocks campground, but it is right by City of Rocks..
A couple of places that look like another world to me are Antelope Canyon and Meteor Crater in Arizona; Devil's Postpile and walking inside an Earthquake Fault in Mammoth Lakes California; and Goosenecks State Park in Utah.
This is a great video. I love underrated or little known places. It certainly doesn’t look crowded. What time of year were you there and how many days are recommend to see all the places you visited?
Happy Belated Birthday Jason! I loved your party. It was so cute if you love caves there are some caves in Ohio called Old Man Caves and in KY there are some called Cater Caves both are awesome
I can't remember where I was but I walked in wagon ruts from that era. It was amazing. Great video. Idaho is pretty. I have been through about 42 states. Not sure. Some we stopped and toured some were just driving through. Never been out of planet though. ;)
Awesome video! So we checked off Shoshone Ice Caves and Craters of the Moon just a few weeks ago, and now you just added three more places to the list! 😂. The more we check off the list, the longer it gets.🤔😂. Strong Kitch-iti-kipi vibes at Blue Heart Springs btw!
Not far from the Craters of the moon is a museum of the Japanese internment camp. There is a nice visitor center and you can walk around and learn about the thousands of people that lived there during WWIl because we were so afraid. They delete with such unfairness with so much grace. Many of their children were even drafted. It is inspiring. It a great historical stop.

Your family would love Edisto Island, SC, specifically Botany Bay and the Driftwood Beach! We were in awe with our visit over Spring Break 2023.
That is a beautiful place.
Indian Lake in the U.P. has a spring, kitch-iti-kipi, or Big Springs.
Great Adventure, thanks for bringing us along.
And Happy Birthday 🥳
wow very interesting content friend
Thank you so much 🙂
JJ's going to be one of those extreme free climb guys. Like Patrick Swayze in Point Break.
😂😂😂
City of Rocks, best memories ❤
You would like City of Rocks State Park in New Mexico north of Deming NM.
You can camp right beside or in huge volcanic rocks
