  • Today we're creating a short and easy tutorial on how to create an offset (also called an outline or outset) of text using Inkscape. You can use this SVG file in Cricut design space, or other design apps as well.

You don't sound like an asthmatic anteater, just someone who wants to share, and we thank you. This answered my questions.

There's definitely a lot, it's a pretty powerful program. But I wanna make it super accessible for people, it opens SO MANY doors for your cricut and other machines. Most of the limits we face in DS don't exist in Inkscape, it's fantastic.

Sooo... You asked us to let you know what we think of your tutorial in the comments... YOU ARE AMAZING! I am a very heavy UA-cam tutorial watcher and this was such a great video that I am literally commenting for the first time ever in UA-cam! I am creating my first inkscape file (after deleting a million other attempts because it was too confusing), and it's all thanks to you. You are an amazing teacher, seriously. My only complaint is that you only have a few tutorials! PLEASE consider making more, I would probably watch them all even if I had no idea what you were doing because you are so chill and easy to follow. If you want ideas on content that viewers may be interested in, I see all these buttons in inkscape and it seems like there are a lot of features, but I have no clue what they are. It would be so awesome if you did more tutorials on things we can do using this app. I have a Cricut, so whatever I do in inkscape would mostly be used in Cricut Design Space, but I would love to learn anything you're willing to teach! Thanks so much for taking the fear out of working in inkscape for me; I feel like I'm now more willing to push buttons and try things, and if I screw everything up, I'll just hit delete! I hope you see this comment because I will definitely be checking in often to see if you have posted any new tutorials :)

Is there a way to use Inkscape to create SVG that forces Cricut to "color in" similarly colored areas of a path? Perhaps by using "Linked Offset" INTERNAL to the path (to create concentric "paths within paths" perhaps each offset approximately as thick as the tip of the pen you're "coloring in" with)?
My goal is to create images using infusible ink PENS in Clamp A instead of cutting and lining up/layering together infusible ink "PAPER" rolls.
