I really didn't enjoy this song the first time i heard it, but it definitely grew on me and even more so once i learned the context of it and the fact it was a jab at eurovision.
Never thought of this being a jab at eurovision. Makes sense now.
@@johnsoncz8151 i mean i haven't seen any band members officially say it was, but i'd bet my left nut that's the case. They get rejected from eurovision for being too heavy and then they release the first super bubblegum song ever then just double down and go full deathcore at the end again for the first time. I don't see another explanation that makes any sense as to why there was such a huge change up in sound.

Some facts: The first part, that's what German Schlager is called. The rest is history - stomped into the ground by the heaviest deathcore metal this band ever delivered.

As a non-German, you won't get it. I laughed my a$$ off. "Death kills German Schlagermusic". Took 2 minutes for it to be done.
Schlager is super-mainstream traditional pop music that (back in my young days) was reserved for the older generations on beerfests and on our vacation islands.
From a demographical point of view you could compare it to very cheezy country-pop in the US that certain groups of people are listening to.
In Germany, for people who like metal, punk, rap, RnB, techno, house etc. this type of music is super-lame. That's why they killed it in the video.
They did a great job to do a satire on this kind of music before they knocked it down.
