Just came across your video, well done. Seems easy enough. Will take a look at my 40hp 4 stroke to see if it is about the same. Thank you.

Awesome! Thanks for watching. Should be pretty similar, and just as straight forward as this 25hp. Good luck,( here’s a tip) take photos before and during so you can retrace your steps if you get confused when putting it all back. 👍🏽👍🏽

you can most of the time fix your thermostat by soaking it in toilet bowl cleaner, first for about 8 hrs then scrub with toothbrush, then leave overnight. scrub again, it gets off all the calcium, ALSO if you get a trash can dump a gallon into it fill about halfway. take an extra bilge pump to motor WITHOUT THERMOSTAT IN IT run it for at least a day or TWO. (you'll have to use a battery charger) and you can get the calcium cleaned out of your motor. NOTE. there is no hook up on a mercury for flushing motor so i just use the earmuffs to hook up bilge pump screw it into hose adaptor. ALSO, i use LYSOL ADAVANCE deep cleaning POWER. I've done my 115 Yamaha, and now working on 115 2006 Mercury 4stroke EFI IT DOES NOT HURT THE MOTOR just gets rid of calcium

Awesome tips! I did not know about those products but have used vinegar as well as lime away with great results

when soaking thermostat i use about a 50/50 water toilet cleaner, water helps it break down better (at least i think it does)

What problem did your motor show that lead you to the thermostat?

In this particular video we were doing it as a routine maintenance replacement. However signs to replace would be:
      -Overheating
      -Engine not maintaining operating temp
      -4stroke “Making Oil”
      -weak cooling stream “pee stream”

I heard that if 2 strokes will not top speed & normal fuel mix and filtering to check the stat. Are there unusual symptoms a faulty stat can produce?

@@awakenedtotruth8419 haven’t heard that one, but I have heard that if t stats are removed or failing you will burn more fuel.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

What are the symptoms? I read online they could be the same symptoms as the IAC os this true?

Symptoms of a bad thermostat are going to be overheating at high RPMs. If the thermostats are stuck closed they won’t allow water to pass through and cool down the block effectively.
Thermostats basically thermal regulate your engine and allow it to run at operating temperature.
Your cooling system consists of your water pump(impeller) side effect is insufficient cooling, low pressure in pee stream. Then you have a poppet valve that regulates pressure in the water jackets and engine. Then your thermostats.

how to change a timing belt on a mercury outboard 4 stroke efi 30hp

I am almost 100% certain your thermostat gasket is upside down. The rubber gasket should also be snug on the face that faces outward. That is the lip. Otherwise your motor will pee before it reaches temperature not allowing the engine to warm up. I made this assesment based on images of the thermostat from the supplier

I have a question sir, I just bought a 2013 40 hp mercury used, does the motor pee as soon as it warms up its a four stroke, that does not pee when you turn it on
