    Get ready to mark 1 more for the Adoption list for single dads. I'm starting my path towards adoptiing a foster kid soon. Got an Agency line up. Going to start classes in Feb 2023 and Home study soon after I move into a new house.

    We have close to 20k subscribers, we stopped recording vlogs when my girls became teenagers because they asked us to. They were embarrassed unfortunately, we've talked about starting it back up with just our youngest son who desperately wants to vlog. Anyway, years ago we were in Breckenridge for vacation and a couple of random kids ran up to us and said "OMG you're Max Family Fun! We love your vlog!!" It was definitely a little weird, but fun at the same time, we happened to be vlogging that day and they got to appear in the background of our video. We were also recognized here locally at a random bowling alley, we just had to go with it, those kids kept jumping into the video. Anyway, it's a compliment for what it's worth!
    I know this is a year later, but one tip for Robert that will help you edit. Take a beat or a pause between thoughts. That lets you pick and choose what you want to put in the final product. :)

    You guys are natural UA-camrs. You are both entertaining to watch even though I could never be a foster parent.

    Funny, this video would have been 3 minutes long without Robert giggling HAHA!!! Love ya buddy, keep it up. Robert your giggling and joking around is always accepted in my book.
    With today's technology one you are on UA-cam your private life is over for the most part, everyone that watches you on UA-cam and sees you in person has got to stop and point out they see you on UA-cam.

    Aw, yes, it's gotta be weird! Stay safe out there - most people are really nice, but some of my other favorite UA-camrs had to make life changes because of a few annoying or harassing people. Too bad they didn't think of distracting the annoying folks with *samples*, made from broccoli and pickles! [It's brilliant! I think even zombies would succumb to those!] Seriously, you are doing so much good, and it is as much due to people simply seeing how fun and loving you both are, as it is due to any specific stories or tips - it's all important!

    Let's Go Dad is so popular that everyone is following your vLog as you give so much Down to Earth information and guidelines for people who may do some foster caring - you both are funny whether you uploaded some sadness or joy - more videos of this duration because sometimes long videos gets a bit boring & no more substance - all your videos are meaningful and useful 🙂❤️🙏🏼 I wish that you'll have some videos of your outdoor activities besides walking your dog or doing some sports 🙂 and I know it's not easy but great to watch your vLogs - more Broccoli and Pickles - Bwahaha 🙂

      Thank you for the sweet comment! As summer comes, we’re going to be doing more outside. I’m not sure how excited people will be to see us fishing and camping though 🙂

      Let's Go Dad Thanks Nick for the reply. I will be one of those followers and viewers who will definitely be excited 😊 to see you all doing some outdoor activities such as fishing g and hopefully you can add some videos of both of you doing some home cooking and eating to have quality family time like old times- I wonder if Robert knows already how to grill some basic recipes - you know those backyard BBQ's' or preparing afternoon snacks that he can eat while playing video games 🙂❤️🙏🏼 best regards

    The number of people your videos help so much must be huge. Wishing you both the best life has to offer.
    Btw Robert at 3:01 that Yoda impersonation was epic “new foster parents, we help get in” LOL😀👍

    If I'm going to be here, I should probably ask a question that might be beneficial to others. I always thought I would adopt one day, and potentially foster, but as the years go by and I am single, I don't think I would do it well alone. I think my relatively rosy background and existence would also make it more difficult to relate to the kids in the way they would need (that is possibly another topic in itself you can address. You had a good upbringing, but grew up around fostering and social work, so perhaps made the leap more successfully.) My question here is: how can a person who was interested in fostering/adoption best get involved in supporting others if they will not get into it directly themselves?

    • @letsgodad
      @letsgodad  3 роки тому +1

      Great question! You I would think it would be easy considering how desperate foster parents are for a break and for support. However, I found that it was really difficult defined a county or a private agency that could direct me into ways that I could help. Your best bet is defined a nonprofit that in someway supports foster parents. This could include a clothing closet, I support group network, etc. These organizations are much better at directing you to where help is needed. That said if you know any foster parents, trauma informed childcare is always huge and everyone needs their lawn mowed or fridge cleaned out from time to time. 🙂
      We’ll add, “should people with healthy upbringings raise foster kids” to our list.

    Well you are the perfect father and son, with you being a bit freaked out with people watching your videos I’m going to make it easier on you and wear sunglasses, in a darkened room with my eyes shut! Does that work for you guys?

      Rather broccoli or spinach or brussel sprouts , hopefully there's something that will help him see the light in that scenario but what can we do , it's all good stuff. , my uncle told me that my taste buds hadn't really developed yet back when I was his age 😁😁
