Hello... Will we be able to use hdfc forex card for cab payments(esp Uber) in london...I'm planning to make a short trip for a week to uk for official purpose .. considering getting a local sim at the airport..
I took a borderless prepaid Mastercard from Thomas Cook just 2 days back since I am going to UK shortly. I suppose the process for your HDFC card and my Thomas Cook card should be similar. I was told to first go to the borderless prepaid website to register or sign up; this is where I am getting stuck. When I go to the site it straight away takes me to the login page, the problem is how do I sign up or register before I can login? I thought I would get some solution to my problem in your video, unfortunately I didn't. Maybe I will have to make a trip to Thomas Cook office to find out, actually I am trying to avoid going there because I have very little time on hand.
Bro I have a query can we use this card directly in POS if I'm shopping in Aldi or Lidl or we need to withdraw cash everytime for paying at there, also what are the charges if I plan to use this card for amazon purchase in UK and what will be the charges in POS or retail outlet?
DO not go for HDFC Forex card. They do not even have a GBP currency listed for Forex card for travel to UK. Worst experience ever with the branch in Borivali west. They are good only for core banking. Bookmyforex delivered the card in two hours. HDFC sucks for everything other that core banking. Waste of time and energy

Because today when I just was apply for the card online and I seen the break down which included TCS was something around ₹1000. Is there TCS applied on or above a certain amount.

You can block the card by hdfc forex card netbanking or a toll free number of that country and request for a replacement card.
What is the validity of HDFC Multicurrency forex card? 2 yrs or 5 yrs or something else?
I had a very poor experience with HFDC multicurrency forex card I USA. Despite loading it with 500 USD, it is not working by swipe or by PIN.I will never use it again.
You need to activate it using their App. It doesn't work by default.
Only first time tap method works latter on they are showing declined

Few universities do not allow fee payments from forex card. I suggest you should check once with your Univeristy.
I am in Poland and I have HDFC Forexplus Multi Currency Card.
I am stuck here in Europe as I am not able to RELOAD my card with Euros.
After completing all the details on netbanking for Reloading, at the end when I submit, I am getting message:
"SESSION EXPIRED"
(With 4 different reasons mentioned in it which does not apply to my transaction procedure).
I am in touch with my bank branch which is in Mumbai, but of no help. They are all confused over there. I m travelling to different countries, but with this situation, I may have to cancel my onwards bookings which will be of great loss to me.

This will depend on your bank policy, however, to my knowledge, they usually don't charge up to a certain limit.
I have one question, when we want to pay the University fees in UK through University online payment portal where it is written that Credit/debit card accepted, can I make my payment there with my Forex card working on visa or mastercard network or will I have to pay the fees specifically with a Credit or debit card?

Coming to your query, no need not to close the Indian bank account , after 6 months your normal bank account will be changed to NRE/NRO Account , you can still continue with this forex card ! It's not necessary that you should have the bank account as well. Even if you close the account, anyone on behalf of you can reach out to the nearest branch and can credit your FOREX CARD.
Also more important, once you'll reach to a foreign country, then you will definitely open up your bank account account there . Then share your foreign country bank account with your family members so that they can transfer you money directly to your foreign bank account.

I asked if once she loads the card with the money needed in UK and then after she closes the account, would the card still be working?
Her UK account would be opened after 2,3 weeks ,as par law
The problem is for 1st month only as she does not want to carry much cash

After I landed in LONDON HEATHROW, I just tapped the card in the station and it worked , so basically it's working in all the tap and go station. Also make sure you have linked this card to Paypal with UK sim number , so whenever you're in UBER or in taxi, you can pay via PayPal account
