Fantastic! So glad the episode was helpful! I always love seeing student artwork, so tell them to find me on instagram and tag me @artrageousnate. Thanks for being a teacher btw!
idk if you will get the same assigment but Selfie Video Assignment- 8 pts. Watch this selfie video: ua-cam.com/video/ontgK-_zBfQ/v-deo.html It is 8 minutes long but it is pretty easy to watch and has a lot of good info in it. What year was the first selfie taken? 1839 What year was the first that the word “selfie” was used? 2002 What is the name of the instant camera used in the 1970s? A polaroid. What artist made a self-portrait with a blue background? Piccaso. What animal was in Salvador Dali’s selfie? A dog. Which country released a selfie safety guide? Russia There is a painting at the Cincinnati Art Museum. What is the woman holding in the painting hanging there? A musical instrument because she was a musician. List one other fact you learned in the video. Polaroids are making a comeback.
Artrageous with Nate no, this was absolutely amazing! I actually enjoyed your video haha. It’s just my teacher’s way of teaching is not really good so this video helped a lot. So thank you! 😀
Can we get a little more detail on the selfie safety guide. The other day I was trying to take a selfie in the middle of the train bridge when all of a sudden an Amtrak train came out of nowhere and I was wondering if the guide has any details on how I could do this more safely? Maybe there's some type of special suit or jacket I could wear? Or maybe you could put a link of the safety guide in the description below the video??? I'm also feeling like I need to get a selfie with a shark soon like the one in the video so maybe the guide could help me to better understand how to do this while effectively avoiding scrapes or scratches.
Thanks Nate for making another great video! I showed my intermediate level Art students your video as part of an intro lesson I created into faceless self portraits that focus on color evoking emotion. (partly Picasso blue period inspired) With everything going on in the world, I wanted to take the time for them to take a "snapshot" of themselves and how they feel. I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
I love this video & I am going to have my photo students watch this before we do our first self portrait project. Just a heads up the photo of Dali "Dali Atomicus" was actually taken by Philippe Halsman (not Dali).
Haha! Well, of all the things your teacher can force you to do, I would sure hope this isn’t the worst thing on that list;) either way, thanks for watching and subscribing!🙌
Haha! Super appreciate this feedback! Definitely made my day. Either way, just glad you made it to my channel, and would super appreciate hitting that subscribe button!🙌👍
Hmm, well, I find it funny and it makes me feel good knowing I’m able to help a few teachers out there! For me, I choose to see a bit of positive Ella the than just throw more negative out there.
Doing a thesis on selfies and the youth in my hometown. So far, your list and mine regarding the history of selfie are on par👍🏼😄 I kinda wanna cite you in some parts😊
A conversation with a friend and I discussed how people had to pose for hours just to be painted (which started bec we were talking about selfies), after much talking about portraits done by others and self portraits we agreed that artists were 'just practicing' but hey.. we dunno.. (think i talked too much >_
Ephraime G I think in many ways you are correct. I also think artists were trying to better understand themselves, and for me, creating a self portrait is getting to see myself from the outside in. I would go so far as to say it's therapeutic. But that's just me!
Gorged out? Um it is gouged out. Gorge = a narrow valley between hills or mountains, typically with steep rocky walls and a stream running through it. Just saying
wow! someones trying to teach people how to do art and be relatable at the same time! so cringe right? no, it isnt, please dont call something cringe just because you dont like it.
Have to be a bit more clear, what hasn’t aged well? Dali? He’s dead, so... My video? Hmm, well it has been a few years! What hasn’t changed is our obsession for selfies. Amazing to see a $1,000 iPhone that is basically an elaborate selfie machine. Either way, thanks for watching!
