  • Keylab Essential 61 Unboxing and First Impressions!
    Welcome to my Unboxing and First Impressions of the Arturia Keylab Essential 61, and welcome to the first proper video filmed in the new studio! Arturia was kind enough to send me out the Keylab Essential 61 to take a look at, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've been wanting to get my hands on a larger keyboard controller for a while, and the Keylab Essntial checks a lot of boxes on my wishlist. Beyond the hardware, it awesome includes the incredible Arturia Analog Lab V software. This gives you access to some of the most iconic presets in synthesizer history, both in standalone and plugin forms. The interface on the Keylab makes navigating the software a breeze, and with 6 custom user presets, the keyboard can also control whatever else you'd like it to. I can't wait to dive deeper into the keyboard, thanks again Arturia! Enjoy the video :)

    Nicely done. Looks like a pretty nice controller, though I'd have a couple of nits to pick with it. But, at the price, it looks like a winner.

    I’m really tempted by the semi weighted version of this, the Keylab 61. Feels like it would be a great controller to integrate everything into one single piece of hardware! So, the record button is for the arrangement view? That’s cool, I need that. It bugs me that the Launchpad has only clip record, since arming the track and hitting play automatically records anyway. No arrangement record, so I have to use the mouse for this one silly thing!
    By the way, here a little disclosure heads up from another UA-camr: I studied the guidelines on this because I found this confusing too. Whether this is a sponsored video depends not only on whether money has exchanged hands, but whether you get to keep this or not! If you can keep it, which is what it sounds like, then it’s still a sponsored video. Kinda makes sense since the product also has a monetary value. Anyway, I thought I’d let you know since some countries are more nitpicky about product placement disclosure than others.
    I’m really enjoying your channel too! No idea how you do it, bringing out one video a day! Most of mine take me a week to edit at least!

    Excellent and concise video!
    It would be great if you could do a tutorial more in depth on controller and Ableton Live integration. What you have shown here with the use of buttons to access channels and such. I would be very grateful, because I have had the Essential 61 for a long time, but I still haven't been able to figure out how to do it. Best regards !

    is the 49 version enough or not ? i don't know which to chose between 49 and 61....

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  2 роки тому +1

      I wound up going with the 61 key because I really wanted to work on my piano theory. I'm pleasantly surprised at how small it is for 61 keys, but if you don't need that extra octave then you could even save more space by going for the 49.

    What is the point of the power adapter the DC plug I know on the box it said you can use this so you don’t have to use a laptop but it doesn’t make sound without the laptop so what would you use that for?

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  Рік тому +2

      For controlling a hardware synth that can't provide power to it.

      No it doesn't, but you can power it off of USB, which it does include. You just need a wall brick if you're not plugging it directly into your gear.

    Terrible quality. I've only had mine less than two years and the keyboards messing about already. every time you slightly touch the keys it plays it really loud. I've tried to reach out and get replacement parts. and you can't even get them to answer you
