This has got to be one of the funnest tracks I've ever played over. While working the changes, I can hear pieces of 'Dear Mr. Fantasy' by Traffic fitting nicely in certain places. Thanks so much for putting this together!
Fat Cat you never disappoint you add hours of extra practice for me cause I just don't want to stop! All my friends are busy with life and can't jam no more so all I have now is this. Keep Rockin Bro its where you belong!
💯💣💥Yeah man ! For me the best backing track i´ve ever heard👌 ! I can feel it so much !🤌🎷 I HAVE to play when i listen to it !🎸🎸 PLEASE much more of that ! GREAT work !!!
The feeling I had after this track is why I started playing guitar so many years ago. I just did'nt know then. thanks for the vibe ! - new subscriber from Colo.
Reminds me of "Can't you see what that woman is doing to me"...good jam. I like the fact you keep the backing track simple. I'm relearning to play after retiring at 68 years old. We learned by trying to listen and play along, so discovering CAGED was a real thing helped me a lot. We'd been playing that way, following the chords up the neck for Southern Rock solos for years just didn't know it was a thing. Having the backing tracks minus leads to practice over is perfect. I like your lead in the beginning but the track can go with so many vibes...slow and uncluttered Dickie Betts or hopped up Skynnard....lets you see what's really underneath and it's sort of Elvin Bishop...aint too purty but sure can play. Thanks. I subscribed. Looking at some of your others.
Great track ! I like how it picked up towards the end. Also, it not only resembles "Can't you see", it seems to blend in some of that bouncy rhythmic vibe of "Sweet Home Alabama", and also (towards the end) closely parallels the main groove from "Sympathy for the Devil" (which is in E rather than D, but is otherwise very similar. You can even play Mick Taylor's descending 6th-interval fills over it).
You can play D mixolydian mode (Gmajor scale starting on D) over this and of course the blues scale with added G# which is much like the pentatonic scale.
Very nice but backing track for what exactly? Vocals? Everything else is already there. More of a complete instrumental than a backing track. Don't get me wrong, fantastic track just would be better if the solo was afterwards.
was asking myself same question. all chords g. c sharp doenst fit in my opinion.. i play d mixo which is g ionian…. and the b3. get that f inside… great sound bendings to bluenote and to b2. also works… but why is it d????? anyone can explain just trying to understand
Just to add and not critique.....It is in G w/ an accent on D....It is a major chord progression which means 1..4..5.....G is the only one that has that progression using those 3 chords. D would be D..G..A (won't work).....C would be C..F..G (also won't do) G is the root chord.....G..C..D....;just a little theory for you....now enjoy the track as I will.
FYI. You can set your youtube player to automatically start at the beginning of the backing track. The solos are for inspiration for new players. We appreciate your comment. Thanks
@@fatcatbackingtracks5962 Afgreed.....without your lead, I am just rehashing all my old stuff. With your leads, it gives me something new to build off of.
Yes I say maybe at the end put a solo. Why that makes sense is you've already started out with a sound, tone, and speed so it makes you feel the need to follow what you've already heard.
Its Like Marshall Tuckers Cant you see! Love it plays well
Piano really makes this track special.

One of the greatest tracks in a long time for taking it away on my G harp -- it got a bit rusty. Now it's reinvigorated!

Me, I'm hearing Sweet Home Alabama.
Don't forget "Can't You See" by The Marshall Tucker Band.

BAD CAT YOU STILL OUT THERE? GREAT GREAT BACKING TRACKS,PEACE
Your tracks are awesome. Southern/country rock jams are what inspired me to learn to play guitar. Love the feel of these tracks.

Another great Fatcat track ! I've been using this, and others, for learning bass improvisation.

I'm glad you like it. That is why we all play right? It gives us that feeling like nothing else. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, this is a very common progression. Glad you are enjoying it.
awesome!

Find the Dickie groove and fly 😎🎸👌
Hell yeah.
Love it
Oh Sweet Nuthin' by Velvet Underground
I'm playing combination of d m and d maj pentatonic over this and it's sounds good is that the only scales that work over this?
You can play D mixolydian mode (Gmajor scale starting on D) over this and of course the blues scale with added G# which is much like the pentatonic scale.
Man, I'm solid gone
Sounds like Oh Sweet Nothing Black Crowes version..
Hi FATCAT, it's possible to also add the Tab of the Solos you use as example?, just for inspiration to this new guitar player.
Awesome work mate!
It is possible. I will look into it. It is just a time issue. Thanks for the request.
Allman ?
D Mixolydian (Em scale)
Yeeee-haw!
Fat cat is greezy as a chicken, go man go
Can I use this please?
Very nice but backing track for what exactly? Vocals? Everything else is already there. More of a complete instrumental than a backing track. Don't get me wrong, fantastic track just would be better if the solo was afterwards.
Will someone explain why this sounds good to solo in D major? I mean these are all chords in G but soloing in G doesn't sound as good .
was asking myself same question. all chords g. c sharp doenst fit in my opinion.. i play d mixo which is g ionian…. and the b3. get that f inside… great sound bendings to bluenote and to b2. also works… but why is it d????? anyone can explain just trying to understand
Are your Backing Tracks copyrighted or are they free to use?

gonna climb a mountain jump off aint no buddy gonna know
D mixolydian works best over this track 👍
Its in G not D
G Major is the key being used. Play D Mixolydian over the D, C Lydian over the C, and G Ionian over the G.
Play leads in b minor penatonic
I would enjoy these tracks better if you left out your solo example at the beginning . Just my opinion.
FYI. You can set your youtube player to automatically start at the beginning of the backing track. The solos are for inspiration for new players. We appreciate your comment. Thanks
Hey man. It is free. Let the guy play. All good fat cat
I like them just fine. Skip over the lead and it is awesome sauce!!!

G Major scale
Why bother with backing track when you can show case your show off skills.
Please no solo!😎
This is in G not D, but thanks anyway
