It was basically his only downtime and happiness, so naturally instead of saying something like "who else will I play games with" or "who else will I watch anime with" he'd say, "who else will I have ice cream with?" Since, well that's his only form of entertainment with friends. One of the only 2 friends he's ever had until the end of 358/2 days.
The more I see stuff like this, the more I realize that a remake of 358/2 days is 100% worth the effort. So many people didn’t get to experience Roxas’ story the way others did on DS, and that’s a CRIME. A reworked mission system (or explorable worlds), integrated multiplayer system like in the originals, and maybe (just maybe) segments where we play as Xion so the game actually can deliver on the 358 Days “OVER 2” (people) part of its title. Those three things alone could make this remake so worth it. But I guess until then, we’ve got this and Everglow
Honestly, a thought that occurred to me a few days ago was that it would be great if Days and Re:coded DID stay as movies, but they had special segments where you DO play those key story battles, the fight with Xion and Riku, Data-Sora's Heartless and Data-Roxas; they could be made using the same engine that DDD used, while retaining the original command set up from KHI and II.
I still find it funny that one of the most powerful and capable Keyblade users isn't supposed to exist. Thats why he's my favorite character. Dudes only really lost when surprised

To think... a playable Roxas like this was only possible through heavy modding, that is, models... movements, sounds etc, had all have to be arranged together to be close to the character itself. And now, it is an actual playable one.
@@XaraFang Using KH3 Player models in place of the NDS ones would be a massive upgrade. People have well proven that levels/worlds from other Kingdom Hearts games can be imported and improved upon.

358 was my favorite KH story, the emotional notes in the subsequent games hit so much harder when you’ve played through 358. It's truly a shame that they won't remake it. That was a lot of peoples favorite KH game. Edit: I didn't expect all the likes. I dug out my DS and started up a new save I'm on day 64!
Its mine too. The story is easily the most moving. Its a shame some cant see past the gameplay and square doesnt want to give everyone more than the cutscenes these days
I also enjoy its story a lot. That being said I feel like it's almost nobody's favorite KH game because it sucks at the actual game part. Even if we look passed the technological limitations,the panel system was a mess and the structure was exceedingly repetitive. I'd love if they remade it from the ground up though. It had a lof of potential with the multiplayer in mission mode and it's honestly a shame it had to be so damn rough on the gameplay front. But i imagine the amount of work a remake would entail is probably why we've never seen it happen...
Overall the "inbetween" games had way better stories and character moments than the numbered titles imo. CoM with the Org13 introduction and Marluxia, Days with Roxas, Xion and way more Org13 screentime and DDD with the whole setting up for the final battle. It's weird how many people still consider them sidegames, same with BBS even though they are pretty much the most important titles when it comes to advancing the story.
Man, that second fight after Riku gives in, Roxas has a sliver of health, all while playing his theme - hell of a way to invoke some of the hopelessness of the whole story within the player. Instantly lets you know: "You can't save anyone, especially not yourself."
omg... my brain was trying to figure out the significance of why Riku's keyblade was glowing and straight-shaped, and then the fight slowed down just enough, and my jaw dropped when i realized it was Braveheart trying to manifest itself. ngl, teared up a little - especially when you think about how that shows how hard Riku is fighting to save Sora.
@@cdcm17 Yeah, in the 358 boss fight, after a while, he wraps the Oblivion in energy (increasing his damage). He can also do it with the Soul Eater in multi-player mode (although it looks slightly different without the hilt).
Even if he technically or canonically isn't the most powerful wielder, he's still the most op one and we all know it, indeed he just exerts power, supposedly you can leave him fight alone with Saix in KH3 and the guy will actually solo beat him lol
There's an ongoing theory between me and my friends that He's canonically the most powerful in terms of raw power, and that the only reason Sora could beat him was he had two entire games worth of experience under his belt, and unlike Roxas he was (After some editing Via Namine Cause CoM) Allowed to keep his memories. It KINDA hinges on the fact KH 2 was made before 358/2 but still, I'm fond of the idea Roxas is the most powerful wielder too

To be fair, no other keyblade wielder in the series has as much raw power as Roxas does. When you think about the fact the dude was only technically alive for a year and still whooped Riku’s ass (before he gave into darkness that is) if he had more experience then everyone would be shitting themselves.
This is a bomb ass mod. Real premium quality stuff. It would take a monstrous amount of work, but if there's a way to make Lingering will vs Terra-Nort in KH3 Playable then my life will be complete.
A remake of Days is literally the one thing I want. It would be so cool to have it be like normal worlds instead of missions with a regular main title combat system cause the story fucking rocks 100%
I still absolutely believe KH would work perfectly with a Warriors style spin off. Just going and mauling thousands of heartless and nobodies is a dream I want to see come to fruition
I would've agreed with you when I was a kid again but Dynasty Warriors gets so stale after the first initial hours of play. Keeping it like this or just another 1000 Heartless battle is nice
It’d be funny if they remade Days into a Warriors style game for Switch. Like making the missions much more insane . Plus, the organization as the roster would be perfect. All you gotta do to fit the narrative is after KH3 Re:mind is place it during the time skip as Roxas, Xion and Twilight gang using the same method as Cid creating the data battles, but they end up making it way to hard. It would be an exaggeration of the events using Roxas and Xion’s memories.
Lea technically still has use since Isa and him have connections to Subject X. As for Roxas and Xion, I don’t think they’ll leave their friend to do a dangerous mission alone.
Besides how blinding the lightning could be, this is pretty much perfect and I could totally see this being how the fight would look if it were made official. I really like how the Ansem part of the fight is done too as it's an unwinnable fight but you can go as long as the game allows you to or until you take a hit. Really clever work bringing this all together.
This...Is perfect. Everything I could've asked for in a mod. It's all right here. I already planned to play Re:Mind and save Riku, Ansem, then Xion for last before the final duel with Xehanort so I could use a Roxas mod build. This only furthers that. Now this only makes me wonder...How long until we get a Roxas Boss mod over Xion?

I always wonder how stupidly strong Roxas would be if he was not only trained properly in the Keyblade, but also learned how to harness Nothingness & Darkness energy (I’d add Light too, but he seems like at least Top 3 Light element users in the series)
This gives me the same feel as back when me and my friends used to reenact KH in our backyards with sticks for keyblades. You've recaptured the initial appeal of the series better than Nomura ever has post BBS.
Appreciate the epilepsy warning. First time I saw this from Iven, the lightning and extra particles were making my head hurt. Don't know if I'm more used to now or if you toned it down, but it's more manageable here. Adjusting Roxas for single Keyblades instead of dual wield was nice as well as his shotlock being the twilight vines. But really the icing on the cake was the inclusion of a Riku!Ansem fight with The Other Promise playing in the background, indicating this is a tragic fight you will lose. Got a bit teary eyed at that, and while it's great to see old fights remastered, creating fights that were never shown is equally if not more incredible
It's not the work I put in but the work that all the other mod creators did. I just used the mods in conjunction, put the scenes and music together, added the ansem fight and did the gameplay. That doesn't amount to the efforts they did.
This was literally peak investment in a fight, and we all watched him lose despite are best attempt at victory.This fight still jerks a tear or two 10 years later. I would buy a remake

I love how Riku/Ansem is not only literally unbeatable, but Roxas' heath is so reduced to the point that one hit can really kill him, it shows how Roxas is really at the end of his tether. Between his mind being assaulted with fading memories of Xion and his will to go on without her or Axel by his side, he really couldn't win.
Was expecting the Vs. ????? section to end after getting hit, due to the 1 HP life bar. Then I could joke about how, should you win, the game cuts to a simple slideshow cutscene encouraging the player to "raise your fist in victory and celebration. A new legend has been born."
This is so beyond f****** incredible this is amazing round of applause this is amazing this was my favorite in the whole series 358 the best game this is incredible seeing these cutscenes and a better UI engine it brings tears of joy
So basically this is what an actual battle between them would have looked like? Truthfully we all can admit that Roxas would have beat the breaks off of Riku in an actual fight with him using Ansem, Riku just decided to surprise Roxas like Sora did. Roxas over powered Sora and Riku and even handicapped himself by giving Riku his keyblade, duel-wielding Roxas would have handled Riku no sweat, but of course plot wouldn't allow it, but if we know anything, Sora's final form in 2 is basically the power of Roxas and if that's Sora's strongest form than we can assume thats the full strength of Roxas. Roxas is definitely Op and we can feel that in 3 when we play as him, he's like the power of Terra but with the agility of Ventus, he has the most raw power of any keyblade wielder and even Xemnas was like "yeah fuck this shit" and bounces after Roxas popped up. I think we all would have felt the game was easy if we could have duel wield the entire game, even on critical.

In KH2 I would definitely agree that he is more powerful than both Riku and Sora, and by default Xemnas who lost to Sora before absorbing Kingdom Hearts. Realistically they only were the “victors” because Riku has guardian and sora used a cheap trick when Roxas could have easily ended him. People may point that data Roxas lost fair and square to KH1 data Sora, but to me that isn’t accurate to how we know Roxas. Especially since KH DDD, YMX was basically sucking off Roxas like “he would’ve been a perfect vessel” and in KH3, Xemnas is worried when Roxas shows up Now? Riku is probably more powerful than him where Sora is maybe just as powerful if not slightly more powerful because of having an extra year of experience (plus Roxas’ training for a year was with a single keyblade. He only used the double keyblades for like a grand total of 20 minutes? Lmao). But yeah, in terms of power scaling, I think Roxas has the ability to be the strongest under Terra because lets be honest, Terra is bar none the absolute most powerful Keyblade Master in the current Era. I would say Aqua is close but theres a reason why Terranort and Xemnas are as powerful as they are. Guy was so powerful that even after death, LW becomes an OP menace that literally prevents everyones death. My personal powerscaling based off KH3 is: 1) Terra 2) Aqua 3) Riku 4) Roxas 5) Ventus 6) Sora 7) Mickey 8) Axel 9) Xion (axel beat her in days without a Keyblade and that when she was full potential, so yes I think he is stronger than her with a Keyblade and he has formal training) 9) Kairi And a lot of those characters are extremely malleable because Ventus, Kairi, Roxas, and Xion all have potential to be higher for multiple different reasons, but Roxas could be the bread winner here if he got more training
Even if the flashing lights are a bit too distracting imo, this’s still a super impressive mod and increases my desire for a full-on remake of 358/2 Days even further.👌🏽
High quality stuff like this makes me hope that a little later down the line we get an expanded or somewhat better moveset mod for Kairi using Re:Mind as a basis. Not that her current moveset is bad but it's a little er...lacking. Same could be said for the other human guardians, and to my knowledge all but Axel and Aqua have gotten some expanded moveset mod.
When I seen Roxas fighting Riku Ansem with 1 hp you could feel that final stand moment when Roxas theme kicked in and realized that no matter what he did that riku was going to win but damn he sure gave it his all to the very end, that is a true bada$$ moment and also a sad moment but man it truly showed what It truly means to fight for someone you want to save even if it means the odds are stacked against you.
This is the one boss fight I always wanted to be remade in HD. Its too good not to remake it. And it looks like a real epic showdown with their kh3 moveset!

Yeah lore wise Riku admitted that Roxas was stronger than him to Sora. Gotta think, Roxas not only handicapped himself by giving Riku his other keyblade, he wasn't even trying to fight Riku in the first place. Once Roxas got his second keyblade back he would have destroyed Riku but Riku surprised him when he transformed, same as Sora when he called the keyblade to him. Roxas has overpowered both cannon wise, really shows how overpowered Roxas is even compared to other keyblade wielders. also think that he was training with the other organizations members so he probably learned how to fight and use his head more than them

He can single handedly beat siax without you having to fight him, and he's still able to duel-wield, I'd say they're probably about even now given that Roxas was way over powered when they first fought. Riku is definitely powerful but even Xemnas and Ansem acknowledged the power of Roxas above everyone else, even Sora

Sora lost his powers at the start of KH3 and by the middle of the game is stronger than riku already. Pretty positive that roxas is still the strongest. But riku definitely knows more and has more experience than roxas. They make it pretty well known and purposefully at that, that roxas is the strongest in terms of power.

Aka, she's getting tossed like a salad 24/7. That doesn't mean much though, as Disney and Square basically destroyed any character's canonical skill level at KH3 just to make Sora the golden boy.

The Roxas VS Riku Ansem fight was a nice touch, I wasn't expecting that! And the cut before the cutscene when he defeats Roxas was just perfect.

There was a mod that dropped recently that allows Roxas to use other spells.
I believe it will only apply for single keyblade Roxas and not dual wield roxas. I opted just for the regular magic as it's the same as 358.

I still absolutely believe KH would work perfectly with a Warriors style spin off. Just going and mauling thousands of heartless and nobodies is a dream I want to see come to fruition

I would've agreed with you when I was a kid again but Dynasty Warriors gets so stale after the first initial hours of play. Keeping it like this or just another 1000 Heartless battle is nice
It’d be funny if they remade Days into a Warriors style game for Switch. Like making the missions much more insane . Plus, the organization as the roster would be perfect. All you gotta do to fit the narrative is after KH3 Re:mind is place it during the time skip as Roxas, Xion and Twilight gang using the same method as Cid creating the data battles, but they end up making it way to hard. It would be an exaggeration of the events using Roxas and Xion’s memories.
Ok no. THIS is my favorite. The lighting, the cutscenes. The pre/post battle fights. The stylish gameplay. Easily #1. Brilliant.

This is amazing, but it feels so cursed to listen to grown-up Riku talk like a smug douche like Dark Riku lol
Besides how blinding the lightning could be, this is pretty much perfect and I could totally see this being how the fight would look if it were made official. I really like how the Ansem part of the fight is done too as it's an unwinnable fight but you can go as long as the game allows you to or until you take a hit. Really clever work bringing this all together.

Everything I could've asked for in a mod. It's all right here. I already planned to play Re:Mind and save Riku, Ansem, then Xion for last before the final duel with Xehanort so I could use a Roxas mod build. This only furthers that.
Now this only makes me wonder...How long until we get a Roxas Boss mod over Xion?

I always wonder how stupidly strong Roxas would be if he was not only trained properly in the Keyblade, but also learned how to harness Nothingness & Darkness energy (I’d add Light too, but he seems like at least Top 3 Light element users in the series)
This gives me the same feel as back when me and my friends used to reenact KH in our backyards with sticks for keyblades. You've recaptured the initial appeal of the series better than Nomura ever has post BBS.

First time I saw this from Iven, the lightning and extra particles were making my head hurt. Don't know if I'm more used to now or if you toned it down, but it's more manageable here.
Adjusting Roxas for single Keyblades instead of dual wield was nice as well as his shotlock being the twilight vines.
But really the icing on the cake was the inclusion of a Riku!Ansem fight with The Other Promise playing in the background, indicating this is a tragic fight you will lose.
Got a bit teary eyed at that, and while it's great to see old fights remastered, creating fights that were never shown is equally if not more incredible
He did give me an updated version of it. However, I don't think it reduced the flashing or something. I think you just got used to it XD

It's not the work I put in but the work that all the other mod creators did. I just used the mods in conjunction, put the scenes and music together, added the ansem fight and did the gameplay. That doesn't amount to the efforts they did.

ngl the added unbeatable fight with Ansem Riku's kind of a genius play, especially with Roxas' theme playing in the background.
This is what fans have always wanted to play since the secret ending back in 2002, this is amazing!
I love how Riku/Ansem is not only literally unbeatable, but Roxas' heath is so reduced to the point that one hit can really kill him, it shows how Roxas is really at the end of his tether. Between his mind being assaulted with fading memories of Xion and his will to go on without her or Axel by his side, he really couldn't win.

Was expecting the Vs. ????? section to end after getting hit, due to the 1 HP life bar. Then I could joke about how, should you win, the game cuts to a simple slideshow cutscene encouraging the player to "raise your fist in victory and celebration. A new legend has been born."

So basically this is what an actual battle between them would have looked like? Truthfully we all can admit that Roxas would have beat the breaks off of Riku in an actual fight with him using Ansem, Riku just decided to surprise Roxas like Sora did. Roxas over powered Sora and Riku and even handicapped himself by giving Riku his keyblade, duel-wielding Roxas would have handled Riku no sweat, but of course plot wouldn't allow it, but if we know anything, Sora's final form in 2 is basically the power of Roxas and if that's Sora's strongest form than we can assume thats the full strength of Roxas. Roxas is definitely Op and we can feel that in 3 when we play as him, he's like the power of Terra but with the agility of Ventus, he has the most raw power of any keyblade wielder and even Xemnas was like "yeah fuck this shit" and bounces after Roxas popped up. I think we all would have felt the game was easy if we could have duel wield the entire game, even on critical.

@@asidionprimus1226 yeah, no other character has lost more fights than Roxas when it comes to plot armor. In KH2 I would definitely agree that he is more powerful than both Riku and Sora, and by default Xemnas who lost to Sora before absorbing Kingdom Hearts. Realistically they only were the “victors” because Riku has guardian and sora used a cheap trick when Roxas could have easily ended him. People may point that data Roxas lost fair and square to KH1 data Sora, but to me that isn’t accurate to how we know Roxas. Especially since KH DDD, YMX was basically sucking off Roxas like “he would’ve been a perfect vessel” and in KH3, Xemnas is worried when Roxas shows up
Now? Riku is probably more powerful than him where Sora is maybe just as powerful if not slightly more powerful because of having an extra year of experience (plus Roxas’ training for a year was with a single keyblade. He only used the double keyblades for like a grand total of 20 minutes? Lmao). But yeah, in terms of power scaling, I think Roxas has the ability to be the strongest under Terra because lets be honest, Terra is bar none the absolute most powerful Keyblade Master in the current Era. I would say Aqua is close but theres a reason why Terranort and Xemnas are as powerful as they are. Guy was so powerful that even after death, LW becomes an OP menace that literally prevents everyones death.
My personal powerscaling based off KH3 is:
1) Terra
2) Aqua
3) Riku
4) Roxas
5) Ventus
6) Sora
7) Mickey
8) Axel
9) Xion (axel beat her in days without a Keyblade and that when she was full potential, so yes I think he is stronger than her with a Keyblade and he has formal training)
9) Kairi
And a lot of those characters are extremely malleable because Ventus, Kairi, Roxas, and Xion all have potential to be higher for multiple different reasons, but Roxas could be the bread winner here if he got more training

Even if the flashing lights are a bit too distracting imo, this’s still a super impressive mod and increases my desire for a full-on remake of 358/2 Days even further.👌🏽
High quality stuff like this makes me hope that a little later down the line we get an expanded or somewhat better moveset mod for Kairi using Re:Mind as a basis. Not that her current moveset is bad but it's a little er...lacking. Same could be said for the other human guardians, and to my knowledge all but Axel and Aqua have gotten some expanded moveset mod.
UNFORTUNATELY one of the best fights we will never see.

When I seen Roxas fighting Riku Ansem with 1 hp you could feel that final stand moment when Roxas theme kicked in and realized that no matter what he did that riku was going to win but damn he sure gave it his all to the very end, that is a true bada$$ moment and also a sad moment but man it truly showed what It truly means to fight for someone you want to save even if it means the odds are stacked against you.
I was not expecting that transition to an extra Ansem battle, that was awesome! Nice touch that Roxas only had 1 HP there too.

Yeah lore wise Riku admitted that Roxas was stronger than him to Sora. Gotta think, Roxas not only handicapped himself by giving Riku his other keyblade, he wasn't even trying to fight Riku in the first place. Once Roxas got his second keyblade back he would have destroyed Riku but Riku surprised him when he transformed, same as Sora when he called the keyblade to him. Roxas has overpowered both cannon wise, really shows how overpowered Roxas is even compared to other keyblade wielders. also think that he was training with the other organizations members so he probably learned how to fight and use his head more than them

@@rafiaalikhan4346 just because he’s a master doesn’t mean much. Yea he’s stronger, but doesn’t mean he’s the strongest. Sora lost his powers at the start of KH3 and by the middle of the game is stronger than riku already. Pretty positive that roxas is still the strongest. But riku definitely knows more and has more experience than roxas. They make it pretty well known and purposefully at that, that roxas is the strongest in terms of power.

That doesn't mean much though, as Disney and Square basically destroyed any character's canonical skill level at KH3 just to make Sora the golden boy.
