I find it great how they have that sign showing how much you are expected to make. Rare to see a company be that up front!
Looks likes communism to me, we need to exploit workers not empower them!
They have it posted in every Buccees
They always do....we live in Texas and always stop when one is in the area.
I'm from where it originally started, not saying this is every store but they have a really high turnover rate / have very strict rules. There's been plenty of people I know that have been fired because of stupid things.
I love their pay transparency.
There was a really cool interview with the owner of Buc-ee's that said he doesn't plan to ever go Public. They don't have to go to a board for decisions and can make changes when they want, so they can stay focused on the customer! Very cool company!
Shareholders kill so many companies with their greed
@@sp123but at the end of the day, they help you grow faster, expand across the country but if you only want to be local, then I understand
This is the way it used to be when there were more apprenticeships. I was a machinist apprentice and was paid while I gained work experience and was paid while they sent me to school. No student loans, no payback.
This company is going to become the next Costco. These guys are doing it right. If you’re willing to work, they’re willing to help you. God bless this company. Keep it up Buc-ee’s!
High turnover though. Not a chance they will be anywhere close to Costco.
High turnover cuz they don't pay you to be on your phone. Nothing wrong with not being able to play with your phone while you're being paid to work

The reason Bucees pays so good is there are only two owners. There is no board of directors or anything else just then two
Wow! I see why everyone is so happy to work and go to Bucc-ees.
Buc-cees is the Chick-fil-A of gas stations.
Don't disrespect Buc-ees like that
@@MyUsernameIsNotClever def a compliment!
@@listerinr no it's not.. Chick-fil-A is garbage. You're just so used to garbage that when you get slightly better quality garbage you think it's actually good..

Here in South Central Texas, Buc-ee’s are all over the place. The bathrooms are like a palace, no joke!
First time I pulled up at a Buc-cees I wasn’t sure if it was a a gas station, RV dealership, firework store or a food court… the bathrooms are always so clean!
Yes! Love when companies take care of their workers!
Coming from someone that has lived in Texas all their life. Buc-ees is a household name like H‑E‑B and whataburger, if you ever pass by a buc-ees on a road trip you must stop. It will be the best part of your road trip
👍I grew up in Pasadena Texas close by to where so many of the refineries are located . That was also the home town of Gilley's lol. I never went to Gilley's myself though.
Amen
He's lying guys its trash don't waste your time
I went to one. Definitely not the best part. Just a big gas station really. It’s not the 8th wonder of the world.
@@Sheryl777 the one in Baytown isn’t bad either!
Wait till you get to the cash register and spend $800 on swag and $12 jerky. Thats how they pay for 6-figure car wash managers...
yes lol
Sounds great!
Came for the financial advice, stayed for the gas station diabetes
🤣
This is the process for most private companies, but every company now is so rushed into being publicly traded, then all leadership cares about is the investor and not its workers.
Don't work there?
Be an investor too
Most companies have no interest in being publicly traded
So true the local Panda Express advertises they pay workers 20+ an hour and have no trouble finding workers. Meanwhile the local McDonald’s can’t find workers because they pay much less
Looking at Buc-ees innocent happy face is like looking into pure joy itself.
Isn't this how Walmart got started?
It’s an awful place to work, they use high wages to justify treating you horribly. Like Amazon they hope you don’t stick around
Which means they're pretty good by American standards
I 2nd that
I resisted Buccees for a long time because how good could it be, it’s just a gas station. It is, indeed, life-changing.
Buc-ee's is awesome!!! Been going since it started in the early 1980's, now we plan our stops on our vacation around Buc-ee's!
I went to school... deep in debt to be a Registered Nurse. I've now been a nurse almost 10 years working myself to death, breaking my back, thankless job with burned out coworkers and administrators. Nearly everyone at that gas station makes more than me. I'm an idiot for being a nurse.
No. You did good. The world need people like you
No you just should have done travel nursing, still can. You’d make an easy 170k a year. Also dept for tuition not a good thing
Look into becoming a travel nurse immediately.
It's incredible how it's grown and expanded from Lake Jackson. Definitely worth a stop on any trip.
"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Buc-ees is the Disneyland of rest stops!!
I saw Buc-ee’s on Babylon Bee Move from CA to TX episode. I didn’t know it was this great. Now, I have to check it out when I see it on my next road trip.
If job is adverstised saying "no experience" required, and paying HIGH amount of money, they are NOT telling you details about particular job.
I love the dry comedy between these two 😂
I was shocked when I went to one. I did not want to leave..
Best gummy bears ever, best bathrooms, best ready to eat (somewhat healthy food) and on top of that, the staff are cool people.
Love Buc--ees! We live 30min away from one of the firsts in TX
I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I cannot wait to go.
My daughter made me stop at one in North Carolina on our travels and let me tell you I was very impressed!!! Got some great food and had a great time at Buc-ees
Buc-ees (and I'm sure a few other companies out there) understands the trend and the cracked system and are catering to it. Unless it's STEM-related or medical (and a couple other majors), dumping tens of thousands into college is no longer worth it!!
The problem with no experience required is what they dont say is experience heavily preferred. Has anyone at ramsey tried getting one of these jobs? You don't just walk onto the job. If anyone with an ounce of experience more than you or education more, they're going to get the job over you, plain and simple.
Duuuuuh uuuurrrr I don't say uuuurrrr someone with experience would be preferred over no experience uuuurrrr who woulda thought duuuuuurrr ur life choice is not the companies problem in a competitve world get your act together boy!
@@whathappenedtoyouusa4516 God the American educational system failed you....
The point of this video is for them to try and push the inane idea that you can have a happy life and family in 2022 doing blue collar work.

No seriously...Yeah, people can get jobs, menial at the least. But at Buc-ee's? After they clearly stated that it is regional with highly competitive pay. It's the sarcasm that was annoying. I'm a hard working teacher, my dad is a veteran, I'm very sarcastic and I live in Texas (Buc-ee's are everywhere). But, come on now, not everybody and their mama's are going to get hired at Buc-ee's. They made it sound like it's a simple equation when it is not. lol
I mean...shouldn't that be how it is though?
Anyone else notice that George looks like the HC for the Miami Dolphins? You rock George!
Haha, a little bit!
Yep, glasses and all 😂
Buc-ee's has an excellent business model. BTW, the average Buc-ee's has 120 gas/fuel pumps, very clean, well ran organization.
The New Braunfels, TX, location has 120 fueling positions, 1,000 parking spots. They are also in, Alabama, Georgia.Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi. Most new locations average 100, to 120 pumps.
Good video. As for me i have made huge profits on my investment since i started trading with Julia David, her trading strategies are top notch.
I'm surprised you know her too, I've been making a lot of profit investing with her for a few month now.
I invest with Mrs. Julia David too, She charges a 20% commission on profit made after every trading session which is fair compared to the effort she put in to make huge profits.
Any info on how i can reach Julia David, I'm new at this

The brisket sandwich is absolutely amazing
Quiktrip better step their game up 😅
I hope Buc-ee's is different and actually calls/interviews/hires people. I can't tell you how many times my college-attending son has applied for a job and never heard back. Here in Colorado, there are allegedly two job openings for every person looking - yet try to get a call back when you apply. I suspect the whole "nobody wants to work" thing is NOT the full story. And can you send some of those employers you were talking about out here to Colorado?
I can totally relate to your son. I graduated in the spring of 2019 with a molecular biology degree and it was shocking that so many places that I applied to never responded back, not even once! It was just crickets and never a call or email back. I finally had to accept a temporary position to package clinical trial phase drugs which was just bottling and making boxes. I finally was able to get a position at a company where I am now finally doing what I went to school for. I wish your son the best of luck with job finding! 🙂
Have you ever considered the fact that you’re son doesn’t interview well
@@kickandblock I do appreciate the feedback but the issue is that they never call for an interview in the first place. He's entry level, which may be part of the problem? But how are you supposed to have experience (outside of volunteer opportunities) if it's your first job?
My main point is that if employers are hurting so badly and begging for people to fill jobs, but never call when you apply (e.g. how much experience do you need to bag groceries?), the problem isn't the workforce; it's the hiring system.
@@tomjusttom5587 just have your son lie about experience like if someone owns a business he worked there.
@@kickandblock Well my son didn't. He moved to another state where he was able to be hired and they were able to utilize what skills he did have. Previous state seemed perplexed .... guess he was supposed to remain in his original state and collect aluminim cans.
How about instead of always denigrating the worker saying "they don't wanna work", how about maybe a little blame on the business owner for creating a terrible working environment with low pay?
That doesn't help people take control of their own life though, blaming anyone for anything is only useless talk and noise. Everyone needs to take action to take control of their own lives. The idea of videos like this is to help people do this.
@@amireallythatgrumpy6508 well im addressing the ramsey show's insistence that "no one wants to work". The vast majority do work and every year it seems their salary doesn't go as far and their benefits get chipped away.
First time I went to a Buc-cees I was overwhelmed at the amount of people in the gas station. Craziest part… the got me checked out in 30 seconds
They pay better than Dave!
You guys just made me want to go work there lol!!!!!! When I saw how much they made, I was like OMG, I can't believe it! And you don't need any experience? That's awesome.
Same here😂
Hope you guys like working very inconsistent schedule only having a 20 minutes not having tattoos or hair dye heck even three write ups and your out forever
This is a good duo of personalities, they should team up more.
I have a friend that use to work there and I’ve heard the exact information from many others. Buccees runs a super tight ship. You get one 15 minute break that begins when you start walking to the back. There’s no tables or chairs to sit at. If you’re eating, you will be eating standing up. If you work retail, your break is a much needed rest.
Ken should let George get his theme out before derailing the conversation.
I live in the North East. I have family that live in Louisiana on the border of Texas. Sometimes I fly into Houston and then drive there to visit them. It was on one of those visits that I heard about Bucees. My cousin mentioned how clean the bathrooms were. When I heard that, I made up my mind to check them out. That was all she wrote. Now, whenever I visit, I allocate at least an hour for a stop at Bucees when I leave them to go to the airport. 😍😍
It’s amazing what you do when you clean the bathroom, don’t pack every squair inch of all isles and staff your store appropriately!
Bucees is a symbol of the American dream
The American dream died with JFK.
Something important about the jobs at Buc-ee’s is that it can’t be outsourced. You don’t have to worry someone overseas will be taking away your job.
From Texas. Buc-ees has always paid 1.5-2X more than the minimum wage! Lots of friends who worked there when we were in high school were balling🤣
Fuel is waaaay cheaper there as well. I saved 40 cents a gallon on diesel.
Yup - they make their money from the stores.
I went there for the first time heading down south from illinois and just needed gas to get back on the road. We were there for 2hrs and $200 later not including gas. I was so behind my schedule, but my belly was full of brisket 😂
Busy Bee truck stop in Lake City is a similar phenomenon
As a Texan Buc-ee's is quite an experience but it's too expensive and their brisket is not that good for Texas brisket.
One company does this. Now they think all companies are going to be like this?
They aren't. They are still going to be lots of companies that pay's just minimum wage.
yep. And people still flock to the dollar store to buy garbage made offshore. People are idiots.
@@andytaylor1588 everything is made offshore
Nobody said all companies are going to be like this.
I disagree. Other fast food places have taken note of how Chick fil a redefined fast food service and I have already seen other copycats. Mainly the taking orders outside on tablets, like at Whataburger.
@@amireallythatgrumpy6508 That is exactly what they said.
Yep Buccees is like going to Disney!! Lol ...its such a happy place!
I stop by when I travel l-95 to go to NY from Fl !!
Everytime we are near a Bucee's we make it a point to stop....I know the bathroom is always going to be clean and I'm not going to have to wait to use the thing and the stall will always be stocked. The prices are a little high, but thats to be expected with the worker pay but its worth paying the extra for the great service.
This has been disproven. It’s a fake meme on social media. They don’t pay that.
They have brisket too?? I need to go there. I wonder if I can get a cheap flight?
their excellent wages makes me WANT to go buy from them and be a customer.
They have exelent brisket , I also bought a t shirt with buc-ee on it, funny thing is we , go sometimes to a resort for vacation and when I wear that shirt some people stop and smile at my shirt !
Great conversation starter !
This creates GOOD workers... you will be loyal and work hard if taken care of.
There is no reason why people can’t find work. You must have the drive to achieve a goal. I’m a self motivated driven loving the over time person.
Everyone talks over George including Dave. Let him finish what he’s trying to say
I am from Texas. Buc-ees is best store ever.
I will be working there when I retire very soon. Love the place!
Buc-ee's marketing team is brilliant!
If you create a culture with a brand(Costco,Trader Joe’s,Buc-ees,In n Out,Chik-filet) you become a destination experience.
Be ready to work. Work/life balance is non-existent. If you are single and have no kids then Buc-ee’s is perfect for you
I’m from Texas and Buccees is a big deal here.
No experience necessary but they are definitely going with the candidate that has the most experience. So if you have no experience you don't really have a chance.
Brisket is good but Idk about high quality.... High quality for fast food... Yes!
Totally agree. It’s not the best quality. Please read ingredients
I cannot for the life of me figure out why they won’t come to Oklahoma. We WANT to give them our money!! But no all we got is QuikTrip and wannabe QuikTrip aka OnCue.🤦♂️
I'm sure manager's job is pretty intense. No company will pay $125K for easy jobs without college degree.
Not necessarily a college degree, but intense work hours, 60+ per week
Not true at ALL! Like @steven said! You may have to work a lot of hours or banking! Banking pays well and you don’t need a degree for some or most of the positions and you work a reg 9-5
@@reese85 banking is big time sales pressure what you talking about
Thank you for sharing your experience. Keep up the good work.
Pulled pork or brisket sandwiches rival some of the best BBQ joints in the south. It's not a gas station. It's a destination and an experience.
Bucees started in Texas and it's huge fan-fiction, love here. The place is like a shopping mall of gas stations. So freaking clean and well staffed.
The one of I-45 from Galveston to Houston is massive. Like 40 something gas pumps. Loved it
My country doesn’t have this chain, but after reading all the rave comments about it; I feel I need to experience this slice of amazing!
Buc-ee's is freaking awesome.
Buccees is the greatest, I love coming across one in my road trips. If they start invading the east coast it would be amazing.
In the west, we have Maverick. They’re not 70,000 sq ft stores like Bucees but they are always clean and top notch service.
This is In n Out of the south.
If bucees was a stock this would've made it sky rocket😂 I would've love to apply there if the nearest one to me wasn't 3 hours away
He's overrating the brisket but it is very good. The idea that you can get almost homemade quality food in a super clean environment with very little hassle all great service all in one place is rare today. We've been penny pinching for so long we've forgotten quality. It can't be a coincidence that they are privately owned and growing at a manageable pace. How quickly did Subway grow and how quickly has been fading.
It’s a scam to me.. they sell the same exact stuff as academy sports and Walmart, but at a higher price. But because it’s a gas station, people get all excited and buy the stuff anyway lol
I love Buc-ees. I make it a point to visit one every time I’m in Texas. Their food selection is amazing (brisket sandwiches, Tex Mex, beef jerky, fudge, and much more).
Wow so is a thing! We just got a on in my state and I thought I was reading the ad wrong 😂
Very rare to find a place that hires based on skills with no experience necessary and has a great work environment and pays well. Usually those who hire with no experience necessary have toxic work environments that pay poorly so if you can find a place like Buc-ee's that has it right jump at it.
First clean bathrooms, bbq 🥪 and plenty of variety of snacks.
They located mostly in Texas so that’s Tax free 😅
That Bucees in Athens just opened in November
They are getting ready to open up a Buc-ee's in my city soon. Guess I will have to go check it out
What city
This would only happen in the south obviously
Lol, this was DEFINITELY paid for
And that is DEFINITELY irrelevant
Great video, great message, so many people need to hear this
Bro that’s one company
I don't have time for a anti-work mentality because I have an anti-homeless mentality,anti-car repossession mentality anti-starving mentality!
$125k a year to work and worry 75+ hours a week.
Most Americans worry 168 hours a week.
That is IF you do not get fired on your first week. Check Indeed.
Trust me.. the managers have it easy there. It's the assistants and team leaders that do all the worrying
Good example of take care of your workers they take care of you and you get what you pay for too
Dropping degree requirements is also because of the low numbers of applicants
He’s right - the unemployment rate is currently around 3.5%, which is considered to be full employment. There are about twice as many open positions as there are candidates to fill them.
