impressive jacket ... i struggle to wear goretex, did find the latest issue american stuff to work but usually i over heat ... at the start of the year i bought a mtp goretex frock and trousers (turret gunners outfit) still havent used them yet, more often than not i use a poncho. (other problem with goretex being the lack of pockets on most of them) i keep my scope/bino's on my chest where they belong, even thou i normally have a zoom lens on my camera. Last couple of trips i've been using a thermal scope/camera ... it adds a whole new dimension to things. Hope your leg/arse injury gets better soon, its always interesting to see you out and about,
Nice Alice pack mitch, hoofing bit of kit. Good solid layout and show n tell too. Always use a Dpm bergen cover on all my packs, not only keeps your kit dry, but breaks up the shape of your bergen so helps blend in camo wise too. A little emergency tip for everyone, if you use a 100ltr + size bergen cover, you can use them as an emergency survival shelter if the s*** hits the fan, think teenage mutant ninja tortoise, OK not going to be the most comfy kip you'll ever have but might just save your bacon if the weather's really bad. OK so I hear everyone saying yeah but if we got our bergen then we got our nice dry bivibag and doss bag too, true but stranger things happen. Worth remembering just in case. Can also be use as a rain water cache, or for hiding kit if you got to get out of dodge double lively. A very often overlooked highly useful item in my opinion too. definitely cant go wrong with a Swiss army knife, it's gotten me out of some very uncomfortable situations while out in the bush.
