Mownin da peepl ffs😂😂😂😂😂
Just seen this, glad the jacket worked out for you mate.
Useful to know as I've never seen either of those two filter setups before now. Is that commercial filter supposed to clean puddle water, river water etc. to the drinking stage or does it still require a rolling boil? Next question without going Google search myself, does the off the shelf job sell replacement filters or do you have to buy the two bottles. Now you've got my grey matter moving, I'm wondering how many litres of water it's meant to filter and how do you know when its on its limit. Since I discovered (as did my dogs) over the years of my neighbour's disgusting habit of chucking his dead sheep in the gully 500 metres upstream from where my local camping spot is located, I've become paranoid about the potential dangers of any streams where nomadic shepherds graze their sheep or their farms are located.
I've dm you on Instagram Robert..
@@vikingmitch4049 Okay, I must remember to go there as I rarely do nowadays. Cheers.
interesting idea for an on the go bottle, ... i have the grayl, its a good piece of kit but there are some negatives which dont det mentioned. i also routinely carry a millbank bag but as you know it takes time to use, and i use water purification tabs but dislike using them unless its an emergency.
Neil I've got a grayl myself and millbank..was just a quick video on a good idea..
Already done survivor 58 is for belt kit only as the filters are hard to get hold of unless you buy the aqua traveler whitch is I think 50 notes
Cheers mental..
No worrys matey
Good video mitch, just a suggestion I wouldn't bother sanding off the logo just wrap it with sniper tape, still be soft enough to use a squeeze bottle but will also give you a supply of sniper tape for emergency repairs, camouflage or whatever. As I say just my suggestion. Atb mate Rob 😊
Thanks Rob I've got sniper/100mph on other bit's of kit..old habits you know the rest..
The original idea is from a fellow prepper Chris Kirby
I'm not being funny but you can't even lift it. So how far would you get with that bag on your back.
Nice job Russ , great use of used kit 👍👍
Hi Mitch. Great idea with the pen pocket. Thanks for saying anyone could use your idea. I'm off to check my jacket. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Cheers from San Antonio home of the Alamo brotha ☕️ 🤝🏻 🧋
150% getting the community gathering together. Nice one mitch 👍
Thanks mate..needs to be done..
Peppers?
Is that T-shirt inside-out?
Thanks for that..😂😂
Good find that’s what we need to do really find a good stop near water and build our own for if or when the shit does happen so we can go there
Great stuff Russ, sounds a great initiative, look forward to some dates and a location 👌🏻
Thanks mate..
Great news, looking forward to getting the dates.
Thanks Dan.
I'm now directly connected with the new prepper channel ( UTS) ULTIMATE TACTICAL SURVIVAL. I'm going to be adding content to his channel mate. To be honest quite a few of the preppers up here are questionable. It's a bit of a needle in a hay stack trying to get those who haven't got any kind of mental issue. You see why I prefer to go it alone? Too much kit being stored away until the bloody aliens attack shit lol😅
Thank you for your time and connection to people across counties appreciate you and also your webbing belt top job...take care ...Dean 🤝👍👍
Thanks Dean..
Seems cool bro 🤙
Cracking news, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Thanks Craig..
it cocts 38 Euro now, that's a little much!
Thanks you 👍🏻
Thank you too
Interesting item, that. I'm using one of them old DPM Respirator pouches instead of the buttpack, but it's not working out as well as I hoped. It is heavy. A buttpack must be as light and as simple as possible and doesn't need 1000 cordura. Where in the UK can one find a buttpack like this? Thanks.
Repurposed gear, Awesome. Great ideas. Thanks for the video. Great job.
Thanks for watching!
Interesting to see the poster behind you. I was born in Rhodesia. Keen on prepping meet-ups but there's next to nothing here in Lancashire.
Keep fit,be prepared to have a read & write for you & your families survival
Jesus guys get a life, nothing going to happen. Best place is at home were theres shelter, food, water and warmth. One month in the field you'd wished you'd stayed put, specially in winter. Best regards from a career SNCO Soldier.
Lol ok mystic Mac , absolutely nothing wrong with being prepared, you must have blinkers on if you think our way of life is going to carry on the same way for much longer ,
Deffo 👍😊
Team working buddy buddy system building should be a task on site at any meets. Yes maybe it's all hypothetical but let's be real so is the prepping world as a collective. So community networking should be key to gaining the advantage if situations where to go tits up. Rec and spotter ( tracking) Medic Mechanic ( vehicle or other) Gatherers ( Intel or other) Security detail ( on and off site) The UK as a whole is by far too small to go hide and wait it out. But there are options if you choose to explore. There is a huge opportunity to have these meets and use the experience gained to inform and educate people properly. I do hope the meets down there go well but the " community " need to voice their views openly and respectfully. I do know that you and I have spoken abouts before mate.
Some good points/idea's there..thought similar stuff myself..
So far then, East Anglia, Wales and Midlands have events, correct? I live in the North West, Lancashire in the Forest of Bowland. I am going to try and find out who's up for such an event in my area. We have a showground just down the road, 2 in fact, very close to the M6 for easy access. I will ask brother Darren, Funky for some advice.
Not sure about the Midlands.. There was the edale G.N.B.C back in the day.
@@vikingmitch4049 The Bushcraft Show is in Leicestershire- I think that's still regarded as the Midlands. I have since found 4 more showgrounds in my vicinity and so I'll be making enquiries after I've checked the requirements for the legals and the potential punters and guests. Like Funky I'm not looking to make it the big Bushcraft Show deal, but a bit more friendly and less corporate looking, with reasonable entry fees.
I think networking at events is the way to go. A by-area groups index would be good too... but who manages it, and who's clocking it. Op Sec.
Thanks for the shout out mate. Good points about networking too, same thoughts here. I think someone needs to get something initiated with that. Ref the Prepper Meet, it desperately needs organising, instead of the way it has been run. There should be a central area to meet and chat, maybe with a fire pit, and maybe an area for people to give presentations in their areas of expertise. Not commercialised like the Bushcraft Show, but at least semi organised.
Thanks Tom, There's a few of us who think the same as yourself..
Good video mate I agree with you and Tom a central meeting area with organised talks etc would defo benefit us all and help with networking 🤙
Forgot to say ….. get your bloody hair cut😂😂😂
Hi Mitch, just discovered your channel. I'm relatively new to prepping and would be interested in attending some events. Would you be able to post some links to the websites you've mentioned so those of us who are at present uninducted to the community can find out more? Cheers Jim
Jim find me on Instagram..use the message feature and I'll get you those links etc. Thanks for watching..
I live in the North of England and been prepping for at least 10 years. During that time I have tried to link up with like minded people and found it very difficult. Been to funky's prepper meets twice, which was a 4-5 hour drive for me. Too far for networking as you need to organise locally. There are preppers up here, lots I think, esp lately, but finding them is not easy. You are right about the networking, we need to find each other now to form groups to build trust. It'll be too late after shtf and time is running out. Only just found your channel Mitch so will look back at your content.
Cheers Dan. Thanks for that we many have even been at the same meets..
Dan look me up on Instagram..
I'm in Newcastle Dan, unsure how close that is to yourself
@@alpha_kilo_prepper I'm near Skipton, so not too close. Are there many preppers over your way?
We're painfully reserved and polite here in the UK compared to our cousins across the Atlantic Adding in work commitments makes finding like minded preppers even more difficult, on a positive note it seems to be improving and the idea is not as strange to the wider population as it has been since the end of the Cold War with the return of global security and political instability Take care mate Roo
Respectfully ,a microphone would help, unable to hear all you are saying.
Point noted..thanks for watching.
Within a few decades, the UK will resemble Yugoslavia during the 1990s. I wish it wasn't so.
Spot on you can feel the division growing daily
Nice informative vid Russ. Prepping networks really need a more intensive interaction and communication amongst the horizon of the skills. Training sets need to be developed so the communities can physically benefit from each others skill sets. 1st and foremost fitness should be a key point. Meeting or gatherings have to come together more not just turning up and sitting around. Hoping the twin meets work out. Good presentation boils down to the training and conditioning 💪 👍 👌
Watch this space mate...
Just ordered two of these for dirt cheap. Going to do some mods myself. Any idea what color grosgrain you used to match the colors of the Austrian pack?
Good info to start Russ on the meets, in terms of community completely agree , in my neck of the woods like minded folk are few and far between … or are they?? I guess it’s a British thing stand in line , conform and wait… then when the pin drops … we should at least train as a group, in line with an army reserve mindset - weekend a month … at least then there will be a connection within the group, and an understanding of ability/knowledge/group SOPs when it counts … this video definitely has me thinking 🤔👍🏻👌🏻🤘🏻
Cheers mate glad it's got you thinking..
Hello mate you bang on the money on this British people do tend to sit back and do nothing unlike or poor American friends . But trying to to change mindset in uk is difficult because we have people on UA-cam trying to put out that they are experts and they hold themselves above others . The likes of Tom and stu are top blokes and have tried to get the ball rolling as have a few others but people won’t get out and train physically and or skills wise but would rather sit at home on fb groups bragging about what new shiny stuff they have bought. I would gladly get out and train with anyone that is serious about it atb mate.
Funkyprepper is a begger. Wake UP!!!
Hello Mitch, I cannot get to Funky's first meet this year or the BCS either due to family commitments. It was good to meet you last year and I agree with you totally on the Networking. Also, may I say. If I do get to see you again this year, I'm going to give you a haircut 😀 ATB good sir!
Thanks for watching the video.. my trc cap was nxt to me instead 😂😂 of hiding my mop..
Nice one mitch yea there isn't much communication. I was thinking of making a discord where no personal info is submitted. If you want to do that send over links to social media and do it through a messaging app. With topics on fire water shelter etc. Events meet ups and general chat I have made one if anyone is interested
Would like to know more and your location by shire, area. I am Lancashire, North West.
I suspect (no evidence to back it up) that the networking aspect works in the US because there is a culture of gun shows, knife shows, and other events ... so its fertile ground, while here in the UK its starting as an off shoot from the bushcraft niche. There are a few uk prepper websites but no hub really, least none ive seen. Tom is a great choice to run it, as he has an events type business already. As well as being a known face and solid bloke. (and he seems likeable)
Thanks for that Neil..
Good video with excellent points especially with your thoughts on Prepper Networking. Interesting items on your background wall….😃👍
Thanks for that..just putting the idea out there because very few seem to be thinking about it..
That wall paper is awesome
Thanks..
Nice kit. I'd add a few tea bags, bullion packets and maybe a few small protein barsm
