Congrats! I'm no Alex, but the teacher in my class says that I'm the best one from my class. A couple of things I would recommend are 1:Learn how to breath so you don't get tired 2:Practice stamina, while your opponent is tiring out you can still kick their asses. 3:Use different types of kicks and both legs. You could make them thing you are going to do a roundhouse, and then end up doing a spinning hook kick(just an example) 4:Learn what type of kicks are for atk and counter atk. You wouldn't want to use a counter-attacking kick, for atk, that doesn't work. 5:Never give up! Keep going to do your best!!

Daniel Moore bro if are not good in sparring then why not change to karatedo where poomsaes/katas are more exciting to do , styles like Shitoryu , JKA Shotokan are best in karatedo for katas and self defense training .

@Isma Eman hello :) tbh I'm still on a yellow belt but I have some experiences well when u do tournament don't overthink like the first tournament I was in im in heavy weight category and im facing against a 165-pound women and im 125 pounds * we are the heaviest in the tournament so i have no choose* and our height difference is like 2o cm she's taller. my point is to have fun and do your best even the table isn't on your side and everything will follow also watch a video that will motivate u, ideas that help u with ur strategies , play hard and pray hard : ) enjoy ur tkd journey

Alex Wong, One thing I notice over and over is that TKD is not much into punching. They sure kick alot. If leaves you guys open way too easily and for grappling. What are your thoughts?

Nice vid as usual, you seem to have improved your flexibility, you done owt special to achieve this? I am struggling to regain my flexibility (i am struggling to stretch often enough and as a result the muscles are repairing into the 'old' position) watched a ballet stretching video and the woman advocated stretching twice per day, every day. What do you do?
I've just been training more and kicking more, that is all I have done over the past year haha I stretch before and after training which is usually 4 times a week. I plan to do some more flexibility and stretching videos in the future though! :)
Hi Alex - how do you find these training camps? Interested in going myself and having my kids who are also in twdo attend and learn! These things only help them get inspired to keep going :)
There's a website for ones they host in Georgia and I just check them or sometimes I get invited to them via Facebook event because I am friends with coaches and instructors in GA. Usually your local instructors and/or coaches would know about them if there are any in the area :)
Just a thought Alex, I think it maybe disrespectful to wear sleeveless when training with big groups specially when most are wearing full dobok. I know it is much comfortable to train in sports attires but I think it's just due to wear full uniform at such training events.
Completely agree. I had planned to wear full uniform and ended up not packing my top, with having to make sure all my sparring gear and camera gear was packed I just forgot my top and I was 3 hours away from home haha

I don't know much about training camps... do you have to constantly train for a certain amount of time?
This was just a one day training camp. Sometimes people also do training camps/preps for tournaments for maybe 6 weeks or longer.

Yeah u can use teep but it must land above the belt or in chest guard
Dr. Devil fighters the groin and feet arent targets for teeps. Even in muaythai we do that
You can teep in butt too... In muay thai but in wtf taekwondo its not allowed..
You technically could if it hits the chest protector but I don't think the sensors would score that.
